One day, I will attend herocon.....oh yes....I will.

*IF* I can end up going, do to some oversight somehow, somewhere, if I can get the money for the plane ticket together before I have to leave instead of 2 weeks after (which is what it's looking like, but then again, there's always the credit card I was trying not to touch...) then I'll be there as well. So please add me into the total, but, again, I probably won't have a definate until end of Sept. at the earliest.

I miss all this. blech, need to get resettled... (moved back in with mom)

I will not be able to attend this year. My new baby is currently 13 days old, and I just got work again after 3 months of unemployment.
Maybe next year.

A new baby and a new job are good reasons not to attend. Congratulations on both.

I re-arranged some things and said "screw it".

Plane ticket is BOUGHT. Count me in for dinner! ^_^

(edited to answer questions)

1) You coming? YUP!
1a) If yes, banquet menu ok? I didn't look at it, but I'm sure it will be. ^_^
1a1) If yes, which banquet items appeal? ::goes to look:: I do like Chicken Parm.... >.>
1a2) If no, what do you propose we do instead?
1b) If no, are you weenie-ing out because you THINK you can't afford it? I know I can't, but I'm going to make it work!
1b1) Does the wording of my question above change your answer? Nope!
1b2) If no, what the heck is wrong with you? >.>
2) Anything we MUST have (even if not on the banquet menu)? Can't think of anything!
(I figure we might have some leeway in this regard as omissions cost the same as some included items.)
3) Preferred dining date/time? My planned default is Friday Oct 23, 5:30pm which will hopefully allow us to dine without rushing to get to whatever Niv might be putting together on Friday Sounds good to me!! ^_^

1.) I'll be there (got my HeroCon ticket today, and had the flight booked over a month ago)
1a.) Banquet menu is fine
1a1.) Ummm....I haven't looked...but I'm sure I'll find something to eat this time. I'm not a sushi fan and I loved the meal last year
2.) I'll try and look at the menu and get back to you on that
3.) Friday at 7...I want to have time to enjoy San Francisco with my brother and Floorman before dinner.

I hope it's not a problem if I bring my brother and his wife again this year...
Oh, and did I miss a link to the menu? I've been pretty inactive lately, and I'm feeling lazy so I haven't looked

Menu

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Thanks, TJ! I appreciate that! I looked over the menu, and I like the Chicken Parm...aside from making sure that's there, I have no further suggestions

Looks like we've got quite a crowd for dinner! You guys getting excited yet?

Yes. Nice to see one of our Justice folks quoted there. But I think they should have posted a picture of Stabitha in her costume from last year along with her quote.

At least, I think it was Stabitha that was wearing the white costume all day Saturday. She got quite a few double-takes from the Quilters and the wedding parties as well. Especially the guys.

EDIT: Yeah, it was Stabitha. *cough*

I'll be there. I won't be able to make the dinner, but I'm a local boy and the travel time for me is about 15 minutes. Also, In-and-Out has long approached been-there-done-that status for me. Although, I'd kill for a Potbelly's Sandwich which you midwesterners are probably sick of by now.

See you all there.

It's so funny that you mention Potbelly's. I have lived in the midwest the majority of my life, and have never eaten at one. In fact, I was in downtown Cincinnati tonight with some friends, and had to ask them what it was. I thought it was the fondue restaurant.

I'll go the extra mile for Potbelly's. There is one in O'hare Airport and whenever I have a friend flying home from Chicago, I have them grab me a bunch in return for my picking them up at the airport. Then I eat Potbelly's all day... until the next time someone I know goes to Chicago.

That's a pretty ringing endorsement! I'll have to give them a try now.

Not just the midwest anymore. They've been cropping up around Texas now, too. A few here in Austin, and I'm pretty sure I saw at least one in Houston, too.

For the first time in my life... I actually wish I was in Texas.

Considering infallible, SuperGoober, possibly MissInformed and possibly others are getting ready to fly out from Texas to California next month, that may not have been the best choice of words to use.

I know that I won't be making an offer, after that line, to stop at a Potbelly's and bring some with me on the plane for ya.

Take it easy, TJ. The only people that say that are those that haven't had the pleasure of living here. Sure, things get a bit warm for a few months, but everything else is pretty great. We should, instead, take pity on these poor souls, living in their intemperate climes and with their intemperate neighbors. We can't hold their ignorance against them, for they don't know any better. Now, once they come and experience our fantastic environment and unbeatable hospitality, then they may realize their error.

But until that day, take pity, and respond with a shake of the head and a knowing grin.

;-)

Fantastic environment? I'll never forget my last trip to Austin...100+ degree weather plus humidity!

But you're on the nose for Texas hospitality! Such a friendly and welcoming bunch of people that live in those parts.

P.S. You forgot to mention that no one can do BBQ like Texans! Texas BBQ...*drool*...
