It's also *different than the forum we had for 5+ years*. It may or may NOT be able to do that. It's not a plot. They'll be annoyed by us no matter what.

When the servers went down earlier, there was a flurry of people in Broadcast shouting, "Is it i16!? Is it here!?" I almost fell out of my chair because of all the stupidity.
Yes bothered, but what can you do about it other then wait patiently.

That does seem to happen around every issue though. People will see the announcement e-mail, and assume that means the issue is live.

Yeah. I'm annoyed by it.
I've been trying to track down some posts that would be a lot easier to do if the DEV and Community Digests were up.
At least that way I could know for sure if the threads in question have actually been removed or not instead of doubting my ability to use the new forum search and/or fighting with the new forums.
Somehow I feel like I've been given a sledge hammer to do surgery with.
EDIT :: Yeah, the server status page being down is a bit odd...wouldn't think that would have anything to do with the forums. But it was cool on Friday evening to think for a moment that Protector and Champion were full due to double xp weekend.
Very bothered. I miss mah devs!

Yes it's an irritation, but frankly, a minor one compared the the blood boiling fury that is generated by these blasted boards requiring me to log in 2-5 times before it actually accepts it, and then logging me out at a random point thereafter, and refusing to actually remember me, no matter how often I tick the box...

As far as the Digests go, I'd assume that someone somewhere is working on them, but it's quite likely a more complex task than pressing the big red button labelled 'Enable Dev Digest'. but I know nothing of board configuration/management, so I'll wait.

I never realised how valuable the Dev Digest was in maintaining a sense of communication with the developers. Right now, it feels like they all took a vacation and haven't posted anything. They may have or they may not have. I can't know either way. Which bothers me.

Is it really that hard for people to use the advanced search?
Just click the "search" tab at the top of the forum, then the "advanced search" link. Once on the search page, type in the name of the dev you want to look for, and set results to show up as posts. That's it. I realize it's not that same as having it all laid out in front of you, but it's not like there's some monumental amount of work involved here. Take some initiative instead of whining, people. We switched to an entirely different board software; a lot of things just can't be copied and pasted.
Tell you folks what I'll do. I'll make a pseudo dev digest to use until the real one is back up. You'll still have to click on the name of the individual dev whose posts you want to see, but you won't have to navigate the scary search page.

You forgot how you're supposed to repeat that for Posi, BABs, Castle, Nivienne, and Avatea. I didn't forget anyone, did I? Yeah, this is nowhere near the convenience of the Dev Digest.

If NCsoft runs their company anything like how we run ours, there are different departments that deal with different things. I'd assume the board people are no the same ones responsible for preping I16. So i doubt that's the reason. More then likely its just new software and a learning cruve.

Either way, I'm not too concerned about it. It's on thier priority list, and they'll get to it when they can.

I just hope it's high up the priority list and will be back soon, or I may start to lose interest in checking the forums daily for info.

Any thoughts on why the process is taking so long? If its upgraded forum technology there's no reason such a tracking thread can't be created right?
