I keep foiling AE teams

I don't think this is true. I'm from Virtue, I farm relatively often, and I have witnessed only a rare few of individuals with that mindset.

Then again, history has taught us that humans tend to only notice negativity...

What is it with all the Godwins in this thread?

I highly doubt the NSDAP is interested in hiring exploit reporters.

Hopefully I16 will put an end to the AE babies, as farmers no longer need AE babies to pad out their missions.

It is an odd experience when 40% of the game's players are located in the starting zone.

To the people who say, Stop telling me how to play, I pay my 15 dollars a month; I respond, I'll stop when your tactics no longer force the devs to make changes to the game =I= play, and for which I pay my 15 dollars a month (actually much less, with the year renewal and free months, but you get the idea).

They all laughed at me when I said I wanted to be a comedian.
But I showed them, and nobody's laughing at me now!

So you're basically requesting the developers shouldn't fix exploits?

Okay. You want a change-free game?

Here's your solution:

Set up a private server. Find a copy of any version of the CoH software that you are happy with. Set it up on that private server. Enjoy your game. And you don't have to worry about anyone fixing any exploits that would potentially change the way you play the game! It's the perfect plan!

No, you misunderstand. Farmers often say what they're doing isn't hurting me, why don't I leave them alone. Then I remind them of all the changes made to the game =because= of farmers. Changes to the game I had nothing to do with, and now have to live with and work around. Changes like the timed Shadowhunter mission.

Sometimes what you are doing does affect others, even when you think you're alone.

And do you think non-farmers do not affect farmers?

To be honest, this is all hypothetical. Farmers and non-farmers are not to mutually exclusive opposing groups. There is a wide range of people with different beliefs between farming extremists and AE puritans.

On top of that, changes you experienced were not "because of farmers". When there is an unbalanced point in a system, farmers tend to gather around it and abuse it as much as they can. This enables the developers to actually see the flaw in their system and fix it.

The developers did not change the Shadowhunter because of farmers. They changed it because they realized it was unbalanced. So they balanced it.

In a way, you should thank farmers for hunting for maximum points in the Risk vs. Reward curve of this game. It helps smooth it out for all of us.

I've just deleted three separate attempts to reply to this post. Instead I'll just report a few more AE "challenges" in your honor.

Edit: You know, to help the devs balance the game.

And that's perfectly acceptable and fair in my opinion. It is your right to report what you feel like is unbalanced to the game.

*stands in the middle of the thread watching it go around and around in circles with no end in sight*

You guys done yet? You're making me dizzy here.

Here's a thought: How about everyone take a break from the internet nerd-raging and go play the game for a while. I mean, that IS why you have an account, right?

Or, if you'd rather stay on your respective soapboxes and scream at each other, at least put a hat out so the amused passerby can drop a dollar in. Keep going long enough and it might pay for a month or two for ya.

Screaming "You're wrong!" at the top of your lungs does nothing to make either side any more right.

In a few months, I'd be very surprised if the majority of them weren't horribly bored, quitting and spreading the word that CoH is unutterably dull, repetitive, and the grindiest thing in creation. That, just like a determined urge towards the easiest route to perceived rewards, is human nature.
*psst* come to Virtue, obviously you got the idiot server. Hell ive been on one "door sit" AE farm and that was run by a fire/kin controler who didnt mind if we helped as long as we didn't slow him down. and by the halfway point every doorsitter was doing something in the fight.

AE # 67087: Journey through the Looking Glass - Save the World
LLX VirtueVerse! - Check out my crazy Toons
This is the size of group that we have balanced AVs for, 6.

I never door sit. Fighting is fun!

If a farmer demands that I door sit, I quit the team right away. I'm also from Virtue!

Just joined another attempted farming team. Thing is, you can't really farm with 3 people, two of which are 17 and another one that's 3.

I think I'm honestly doing these people a favor, most would-be farmers seem to have no idea what they're doing. I think you need to master regular gameplay before you even try to farm.

That right there is half the issue, AFA I'm concerned. It is the people that are either too dumb to realize you can't farm 52s at 17 or are too new to actually know that there is anything else in the game worth doing. Both are problematic.

Keep doing what you do, Prof. Me? I will continue to run contact missions with anyone I can find willing to do likewise (and they do exist, contrary to popular hyperbole).

A game is not supposed to be some kind of... place where people enjoy themselves!

How do I tag this thing anyway?

Though I guess I've already made my tags.

EDIT: Found it.
