But you can't buy them with Solo cards even though the options say you can.

CoH PvP SG = SuperUnion - Co-Leader - Union/Freedom
CoV PvP VG = Disruption - Co-Leader - Union/Freedom
Global = @Rent & @Rent.

I thought farmers would only need the 3 free slots?
Once they've made the perfect farm, surely they'd only ever need one mission up?

Meh, as I can't buy any stuff from the ingame store I'll have to pass this up, not that I really needed it anyway, I'm already having trouble finishing one story(because somehow I feel I'm wasting my time creating virtual missions while a freaking building is on fire two blocks away!)

Then again, would farmers really need so many slots?

I know. I'm stunned too. I certainly didn't expect that. Next they'll be adding requested features to some sort of "booster" pack and charging people for them too. Or making nice cossies but sticking them into these theoretical "boosters" and giving out the crappy ones made by the new interns in the free issues.

So what if someone buys additional 5 slots, so what he puts up 8 farm-missions, would it totaly ruin your gameplay? Or would it be equaly for him to use 2 or 3 accounts to get 6-9 farm-missions up?

Its time of crisis, every dollar is a good one and this is a nice way of getting a few extra bucks while pleasing a bunch of people in the game.

Its like you are 'forced' to buy them, you have no choice but to get them else you would be a gimped character or people will laugh at you.

Just like those wow-kiddies that never seen any other MMO, some people here never heard of micro-transactions. Dont like it? Dont buy it. Dont want it? Unsub.

This wil mostly increase the number of good designed story arcs. As the farmers only need 1 or 2. So it will balance a bit more.

I may buy 1 slot more... maybe two.. to tell stories I have lying around. And mine will be tweaked to be a challenge. Therefore not played (only 25 plays/stars yet since beta). People these days are simply chicken and rather shoot enemies blindly while under the safety of 10 forcefield allies.

Well, "made in good faith" isn't really the same thing as "well designed." That said I expect it too, - I don't see how extra slots would have that much use for farmers.

Plus, don't forget, slots can be banned...

My comment and concerns have nothing to do with the actual slots themselves, and more to do with the deeper ramifications behind more micro-transactions.

We've lately seen less and less high quality content in the free issue updates other than some QoL stuff, and more and more "shineys" being moved to a pay model. It was said by people a year or so ago, when the first booster pack and the character slots appeared, that it was merely the tip of the iceberg; but many people poo poohed that.

Seems they were right though, doesn't it?

Wonder how long before you can buy costume slots, in-game unlockables, maybe even new AT's or powersets, in the store too...

Thin edge of the wedge, folks. It used to be that the free issue updates were massive things absolutely loaded with content and new mechanics; but that seems to be dropping off very sharply of late...

I was being sarcastic about farmers and slots, i dont give a [censored] what they sell.

The sooner they make lvl 1-25 £2.99 to save me grinding it in 10 mins in a MA farm the better.

Wasn't CoV purchasable ATs and powersets? Going Rogue probably will be too.

Though I agree, the quality of the free stuff seems lower than it used to be, either that or I'm becoming Jaded.

OK some drop in output due to the shift to PS. But I suspect most is becuase the new resources are being poured into GR - which whilst most look forward to it will be a little more than a mere 'micro' transaction.

As long as we continue to get free content and the paid for extras are relatively cheap then i aint going to complain

Yet to buy any add-on.

That might make a little more cash - banned slots would require new slots to be bought to remake the banned farm

Could we just get one thing VERY clear: There's NEVER been any free stuff in CoX.

...We all pay our sub, don't we? I'm so sick'n'tired of people going out of their way to hail the "new free content patch" especially since this game has way less content after five years than most other games have at their release.

That said. Great! If someone's so eager to PAY to get their good stuff out - instead of getting payed as they really should - that's fine with me. If I'd ever get a HoF or something I'd be inclined to do my second really serious arc and I'd have slots for it. If noone's playing my arcs, what's the friggin point? I can play my own arcs without publishing.

So, if people wanna pay for more alt slots, arc slots, wedding costume, that's fine with me. Some things are deffo worth paying for. I'd love the mission teleporter, but that's way too expensive. I like the magic pack power, couldn't live without the jetpack booster.

I don't mind paying a bit extra for quality stuff if it also helps the game. They claim we got our useless villain epics faster because of it, so that's fine. Me happy!

...but if *all* the good stuff will be in expansions/micro transactions... [censored]! If I16 turns out to be just another QoL "power customization" pack without content...

...let's just say I hope STO, SWTOR etc is released soon!
