It certainly looks very nice, and includes some things we've been asking for for a very long time, such as a proper cloak and especially costume change emotes.

But I have a question. Are we moving over to ONLY getting new costume pieces and emotes via paid-for addon packs? Seeing as we didn't get any free ones in this issue, which is pretty unusual...

[/ QUOTE ]

Twas sorta inevitable once they started down the microtransactions route with the Wedding Pack really Why give things for free when you just know lots of people will pay for them?

Not really too surprising, the IP is old, there is a semi-fanatical fanbase who will buy most things. May as well milk it.

The thing is we all know we'll buy it and they know we'll buy it but it would be nice if they humored us and stuck in free costume set even if it was just less fancy variation derived from what there sticking out as the new paid for stuff.

Hi y'all.
That is all.

They look quite cool, though it is a shame that we only seem to get new cossies by paying now.

Plus depending on how it works, I can see the fortune teller power being a pain.

You get enough idiots at Wentys/BM now, without some pillock debuffing you just before you go into Cimerora or something.

It is but really can we really count i14 as being a "standard" for issues seeing as it is really a beefed up version of stuff that were suppose to be in i13. I think the question becomes valid if i15 has none of this stuff.

Super Booster II: Magic includes 4 costume change emotes these emotes activate when characters switch their costumes, and are selectable in the costume change interface.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is interesting. All the speculation in the past about costume change emotes has assumed that we would have to run them manually by binding the emote and the costume change to separate keys and then dealing with the timing ourselves.

Looks like they've either exploited an existing unused feature (tm) or added in new functionality to tie an animation into the costume change command.

Nice!

Ever wondered how our costumes stay so clean and shiny given everything we put them through?

Then you need to try out Spandex Crisis (Arc ID 32943)

Want and will buy the I14 code as it has the free months play too. Best deal ever!

[/ QUOTE ]

Can anyone confirm if getting the free month affects your veteran rewards? .. if i was to purchase this pack this month and have the month free, would that free month be a qualifying month?

Vet reward months and paid for months are two different things tracked by your account.

So, if, like me, you have bought CoH, CoV, the MAC Pack and will be getting the Architect code and have owned CoH since 3 September 2005 you will have 3 years and 7 months of Vet time, but will only have paid for (so far) 3 years and 5 months. Once I have the Architect code, and have got to 3 May, I will be at Paid For 3 yr 5 mth, Vet Time 3 yr 8 mth.

It seems he is still somewhat wise ; Bull Throttle: Shadowe was unwise in this instance...; Rock_Powerfist: in this instance Shadowe is wise.; Techbot_Alpha: Shadowe is very wise *nods*; Zortel: *Quotable line about Shadowe being wise goes here.*

Last time I did it with the MAC version and it counted the activated time of my account. That includes teh free month.

Vet rewards count activated time and not paid time. And even then a free month is paid time.

Both FFMs comment and the above quotage does have a point.
We are paying for subscription content that is supposed to include cossie additions, emotes and PvE content. If however, content traditionally subscribed to is going to be stealth-migrated into micro-transactions then I would rather It be made policy upfront.
The scope of how much value all these micro-transaction packs are will come into sharp contrast as each of the character-creation systems from the competition are experienced by subscribers, and whether people will continue to buy themed-costume packs if they available for free in other MMOs.

Upside, the Magic pack looks great, Jay has clearly listened to what the community wanted when drawing up his list of what to add, even if he did go off on a bit of a detour along the female bat-panties theme.
The Capes look great and I love the padded quilting effect texture akin to Victorian smoking jackets, the collars and hoods on the capes and exquisite detail shown will ensure Paragon tastes strange... Dr.Strange for a good couple of months.
I'm intrigued by the costume change emotes and cannot wait to see how they work.

As a subscriber I'm looking keenly at what will be added for standard subscriptions re: additional costumes, emotes, substantial PvE-content (outside of the Mission Architect) and what needs to be revamped in the existing game (ie: character-meshes, zones, PvP, the seemingly abandoned Hamidon event and lesser used Shards).
I doubt I'll be swayed if Issue:15 The Coming Storm is just the Rikti invasion code in Nazi uniforms.

I had the same thought last night. Not for i15 itself but for the pre-i15 / 5 year anniversery build-up.

If it's hordes of Nazi's rappelling from ships or emerging from the ground I'm out there and then. I liked the Rikti raids but thought the zombie ones were a bit random and useless (and way too hard) with truely horrible Elite Bosses (did someone raid old cheesy 90s RPGs to make those models)

If issue 15 hits and there's no decent free costume items in it (and I don't mean just more hairstyles or more patterns, I mean Enforcer and Jester level, two completely free complete sets) then I reckon we can safely say that we're heading towards costume packs being the norm.

And for the love of all that's holy don't tie them to something like Vanguard Merits OR a taskforce...having to wait until level 35 for a nifty and potentially very useful costume as a bit of a kick in the teeth.

Hell go all out, tell Jay to get off his backside and make some NPC costume items available, the Carnie Mask, the Freakshow Cybernetics, the entire 5th Column outfit (or atleast the faceplate, can do the rest myself).

Hell I WOULD be willing to pay £20 for all the available NPC costume items bar the signature heroes/villains...would love it even more for free but to be able to actually BE a Mark II Wolfpack Mechman would be awesome...

Fairly easy I15 will be THE most important update for this game.

I14 is special and innovative. It gives new content to the max. But it doesn't really advances the game itself. I15 has to be a solid upgrade in grafics... zones... quality of lives things... and ofcourse every issue needs to have the expected costume additions. There is never enough of that. But in this case it is needed to ensure that it is still a free addition.

If I15 doesn't show that this game is growing and will be able to grow more it will lose any fight with the upcoming rivaling games even before they come out on the shelves. And then all doom threads are being shown right.

It does say "offer to read other's fortunes", so I'm guessing on something like the TP Friend confirmation box for the power.

This is one I might give a miss to. None of these bits would really suit any of my characters. I guess I might consider it for the MA.

I really should do something about this signature.

I like the costume pieces

I like the idea of change emotes even more.

Wish they would make some retroactive to Booster Pack 1. Not likely though.

I have to say that I expected more to be honest.

I don't think there's enough there to make me want to buy it. This would have been far better as part of i14 to offset the disappointment of those who aren't into MA.

Just an observation.
