...South Korea had a very average Olympic year last year. They often get around 30 medals total.

North Korea have never been any good.

Also, the hell are you talking about Khorak? Were you watching a different Olympics to me, North and South Korea were seperate entries last year.

Oh I don't. It's a well known fact that the subscriber numbers aren't stellar (even stateside) and that no server goes in to max capacity, not even Freedom.

From what you're spewing forth someone'd think that the PvP changes and the way they were handled were as bad as the ED/GDN situation.

News flash: Not even close.

Even if there's a significant subscriber drop I'd put a lot more money on it being because of a lack of any serious content in I13 than the PvP overhaul. But hey, y'know, that's just my brain using common sense.

Admittedly it may well be a trivial number. But did you see the 50+ page long threads on US forum where every single post was ppl stating how many accounts they were cancelling?

See it sounds like a lot when you say it like that, but what percentage of the playerbase post on/use the forums?

GR - good luck to you. You were/are a fantastic community co-ordinator, you certainly filled B's, Kerensky's, Rockjaw's etc. etc. shoes and then some. Speaking for myself (and anyone who wants to agree with me), us EU lot have been extremely lucky to have some of the best community support/co-ordinators/GMs etc.

I'm going to keep my fingers crossed indefinitely, and hope to god you're not on a temporary work visa.

To be honest, depending on what happens to us EU folk, I may take this as my cue to move to <another MMO> for good. Not out of spite, or fear of change, but to preserve memories.

Nothing has made me stop and think more than the quote above.
It takes a hell of a game to stop me playing my cube games (still not got a Wii). All of the Zeldas, Metroid prime 1+2, plus loads of games I bought with the intention of playing and finishing, ALL left untouched because of this game.

Personally I hope it does not mean the worst for our accounts and characters. But yes, I wholeheartedly agree preserve the good memories and discard the bad ones.

Thank you Stasis.

Thanks for the well wishes, everyone.

In the long run Australia is a better proposition. Will you be thinking of heading back?

i am sorry to hear about your job GR, it is hard at anytime, but if you do not want to go to the US, can you put my name in your place. I hope you do well in whatever you do!

As for everything else, we ultimatly have no idea what they intend to do with the euro servers or even the people that play here. Cost cutting is happening all over the world so we had to expect something along the lines of this. We all know many people that have left the game. But on the positive side I have made plenty of new freinds

I cannot see England winning anything, ever, sadly.

Very true. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland on the other hand...

I'll have you know that the northern Irish stuffed the English a couple of years back... they even errected a monument for the occasion!

Never quite understood how they manage to have spiders the size of sheep and yet they still manage to hide under the dunny seat. And they still manage to bite people...

If my loo seat was raised 3 feet and appeared to be suspiciously wooly in an arachnid-kinda-way I'd find some way to hold it in...

BTW - the dunny is the outside toilet. I remember Mike Harding talking about trips to Australia and stating he'd been bitten by one of these spiders. In the morning, at hospital, he looked under the sheets at the damage wrought an dasked the nurse 'could you take away the pain but leave the swelling?'...

Ummmmm that's factually incorrect. The Great Britain team had arguably it's best Olympics ever and that is a team made up of the entire UK.

Hence the example that even Korea managed a united Olympics team. Thanks for the condescension, but I suggest you keep it to use when....y'know, you're right.

Meh, they marched together at least, I was mainly referencing the colossal pettiness of it, North and South Korea are constantly on a knife edge of total war in which Seoul will be immediately levelled by tens of thousands of artillery pieces that have been pointed at it for decades, and yet they march together and have been actually trying to have a single team, and the reason they don't have a single team has nothing to do with the megatons of high explosive ordnance. North Korea was even offered two matches of the 2002 World Cup by the specific request of South Korea. These guys are trying, when they really shouldn't bother.

The UK by comparison to that, really is just a joke to behold.

Oh shut up you idiot, you failed entirely to grasp the point being made and even enforced my reasoning that a united UK team would, and does, perform better.

Next time I'll write a lengthy treatise in crayon with a legal advisor, to make sure it's airtight enough to absolutely guarantee some tool like you can't ignore the entire subtext and explicit meaning in order to make some meaningless nitpick constructed entirely for some masturbatory smug satisfaction.

Unfortunately on the evidence of the NC overlords current actions I can only assume the worst. The easiest and cheapest option would most probably be to simply shut the eu servers and offer refunds or time on the us servers. In the wake of such sweeping cuts and potential job losses I cant see the huge amount of work being supported in server moves or merges.
