-engine improvements, like animated hair and better graphic FX

Fixed that to make it clear what you were saying.

didn't say that, i said REAL hair, not ANIMATED hair, stop making incorrect fixes.
the hair is now plastic, if you make it red/black, it's like i make a plastic doll with the shiny part and tough plastic look.....

Relax! It was a joke. Ive been since this whole animated hair melarky started! Its just becouse people find it odd that a game engine made around physics dosn't let you have ragdoll hair. Anyway ^_^ Lets just hope its more powers! *Dances, loves making lots of heroes. Thinks that might be why the highest is 26 at the moment *

If the Base revisions are in Issue 13, then one of the new features im hoping for, and after reading a recent interview with Posi it looks like this is happening, is an option to create multi-level bases.

Positron hinted that he wanted to take bases to the, quote, Next level and beyond

The animated hair joke is a horse that has been flogged to death a thousand times and simply isn't funny anymore.

On Topic:
Shields, yes. Hope we get a nice variety (medieval, viking, tech and others) and not only a Captain America style shield.

rpgguy, if this is the "big thing" that I13 will bring, I will be very disappointed.
Remember that not everyone is interesting to be in an SG and an entire issue focused on that only, will leave many disappointed...

I won't say no if I see it implemented but not as the "main focus" about I13.

I imagine there will be a nice variety of shields available, definitely will try out the Shields powerset. May even remake a high level scrapper to use the Shield powerset.

With a newly built bigger development team, higher funding, and the time to let Issue 13 really blossom I'd be surprised if it was purely to focus on just one thing. I'm sensing "Base loveĀ™", Shields, more QoL (the Devs have truly fallen in love with the QoL concept) more cossies, more missions, and from the sound of things a step up in the pace of the overarcing story. I remember one of the devs (cannot remember the source, could be Hero 1) saying that they hoped we looked back on this and past issues, when we're further along, and saw the planting of clues and the seeds of future events, etc. I'll bet this increases with I13....

I personally cant wait, and I'm still enjoying I12

I don't wanna save my soul now,
I just wanna lose control,
And even if it takes a lifetime, to learn:
I'll learn!

Edit: The good thing about hazard zones is that you have to keep on your toes otherwise you will die, dont want this feeling taken away from the game.

[/ QUOTE ]

I have to admit that is what i am missing in the new hollows zone. It is to easy now. Gone are the days where reaching the mission was a bigger challenge then the mission itself.

From what i've seen on the US forums some new base features are definitely on the way *crosses finger*

including *takes deep breath* a proper interface to float items

Oh yeah, there's nothing I like better in the world than an all risk, no reward scenario. If my life isn't an equation that can only add up to zero or minus, it just hasn't been challenging enough!

Oh come on, the hollows run was an adrenaline boost. Big risk and it required some good steering to get there. It was the place to learn how to weave through mobs. Sure it was hard and I cursed the devs for it now and then. But it was never boring.

All risk?

The old Hollows wasn't that bad at all. Easy enough to navigate once you got the hang of it and lots of fun.

You having trouble comprehending? Yes, all risk. As in, "I get f***ing nothing in return for running a lethal gauntlet". A situation where you are expected to face great amounts of danger and get nothing. All risk.

You people who get your fun doing stuff that'll at best result in you getting absolutely nothing as opposed to even less than nothing, feel free to go eat Japanese blowfish. At best you'll have had a dinner just like you'd have had anywhere else and you'll have travelled a huge distance to get it, and at worst you'll be dead. Should be huge fun.

So, you never experienced the adrenaline rush of making it across The Gulch in one piece? Or the shock of rounding a corner and coming face-to-face with a group of purples? Or pride at being able to run a course around the various mobs waiting to kill you? The teamwork of getting your mates across?

Reward doesn't always have to be material. People used to do Gulch runs for fun, back in the day of debt before level 10. I spent many hours way back when listening to people chant, "I'm gonna make it, I'mgonnamakeit," only to fall about laughing when they were one-shot (something else we've scrapped) just as they were nearing safety.

Yes, it's all risk if you expect some sort of prize for getting from point A to point B safely - but then getting to any mission ever would be "all risk". You could be ambushed, you could be dumb enough to mistake a group of reds for a group of greys (don't say "colour blind", there are workarounds).

Risk is fun. Reward is bonus.

I've no trouble comprehending, ta. I just have a difference of opinion to you.

Some of my best memories in the game come from when I started and learning how to get around the Hollows (especially when there was a team of us and someone always tried to get across the map via the Gulch)

Well you get to the missions, which is a reward (as much as being forced to do Atta could be considered a reward, I hate that mish, stupid cave-trolls). And for a lot of my toons the huge spawns were their own reward XP & drop-wise (gotta love chaining Insps and going on a rampage). My Fire/Rad and Warshade loved the Hollows and its huge "risks" for their own sakes. And a lot of that has been lost now (Perez will have to do now, but theres no shops in the damn place).

Bombing around it with a Kinetics defender was super fun too. Wheeeeeeeeeeeee

I didn't find it challenging tbh, just tedious.

Same with the "challenging" or "risky" fights against Arch-Villains. Wailing on something for five minutes straight isn't either of those things. It's just boring.

Depends on the character I've found (the Hollows that is). My Grav/TA avoided it like the plague. For the right toon it's a great place though.
