  1. Ahh, cool. Thanks for the replies. I was worried there for a second.

I honestly don't think that they will nerf Stamina now. I think they finally realized that most people where taking stamina to reduce downtime.

Just getting stamina from the Start doesn't make you invincible. It makes the game faster and more fun.

Downtime is never good and especially not in a Superpowered MMO!

If they really would nerf stamina then the whole change is senseless.

So I have to respec all my chars before I19 or my existing chars won't be getting the Inherent Fitness powers ever?
Not even after a respec I do after I19 gets launched?

To be honest that is a bit crazy if that's really the case. So I better make sure not to miss the I19 release date and do a respec on all my existing chars before then. After I19 gets released I have to respec them all again to be able to slot Fitness Powers? Okaaay, weird.
  3. I chose Hurdle in the end as I can live with the fact to run a small bit slower but Hurdle gives me increased mobility.

I'm still perplexed by the fact that Fitness will get a Inherent Power Pool now.
I still wonder what that means. Does it mean we get all powers from level 1? Or can we simply select all powers from level 1?
  4. I actually like GR quite a lot (returned for GR after a one years pause).

But two things really annoy me (the first one way more then the second one).

    -difficulty:
I think that after 51 month playtime, I'm decent at CoH. Sure I'm not a pro, but decent.
Playing a squishy in GR isn't really always fun. Especially those ambushes.
Also you know, beside my mission it says +0 level. That usualy doesn't mean that 90% of the mobs are +1 level (or it shouldn't mean that, but that what I get most of the time).
Why no difficulty setting in GR?

    -civilians running around in panic:
Okay I enter a mish. Here they are, loads of civilians running around in panic straight beside the exit. "Uhm guys, here's the exit!" comes to my mind first (I actually said that out load ones which prompted my wife to be laughing at me talking to the monitor).
Why don't they just leave the building? I mean, they programmed this feature in CoV.

Especially with the difficulty the way it is I often experience GR as a rollercoaster between Fun and Frustration (the fun prevails at the moment).

I still don't understand why PS didn't put the difficulty slider in GR. I hope they didn't withhold that just to sell it as a great feature in I19.
  5. During a Strikeforce we all get facepalmed. We had an Empath on board, but not a single heal from him.
I wasn't even sure he moved, so I go. Dude, why didn't you heal?

    And he replies something like

    "wwwsssaad33sss44www55ss345swwww"

I was actualyy laughing at the monitor in that moment.
  6. @Hyperstrike

Cool stuff. Thanks a million for the reply and the info. Much appreciated.

    Are you sure?
I was checking on the Shadowrun MMO and I'm actually not so sure if it's really in development.
It really looks like as if Smith and Tinker is just owning the license and is outsourcing any game developments.
Piranha Games is working on MW5. They said that the last Shadowrun game wasn't that great (they are right, yet I still bought it and had some fun with it), so they want to wait a bit before they do anything with that IP.
But they did say that a Crimson Skies game would really interest them. Looks like they own that IP too then.

Overall I think I still have chances to turn into an Elf then!
  8. Ooooh, now that is interesting. Here's me hoping that it will work out. Maybe I shouldn't do that though.
I said to an friend just yesterday, the likelihood of me turning into an Elf is bigger then an Shadowrun MMO. I really don't want to be an Elf. Could be worse I guess. At least I didn't say Troll.

Smith & Tinker, they work on Mechwarrior 5, don't they (they are the publishers at least I think)? Let's hope they will bring life back to both of these universes.
Think they own Crimson Skies too.
  9. Aaah, Shadowrun. Such a great universe. Still remember when I was playing it. The good old days.

Shadowrun really is a universe that would deserve a good RPG or MMO. Also wish they would have made Shadowrun Comics.
  10. I have seen worse then this. Sure it isn't ideal that there is no info, but believe me I have seen worse (as I think I tried out almost every MMO out there).

Even Blizzard doesn't always manage to inform people on time (and their resources are limitles compared to Paragon).

For once I can say, luckily I'm at work!

Your mileage will vary on travel powers but I admit I always take them.
Too much downtime for me without Stamina. Takes out the fun of a fast paced MMO for me.
Or maybe I'm just a bad player!

Well, I'm level 10 now, so I'll have two levels time to decide.
  12. Welcome back.

A few things changed for sure. I was away for over a year and returned for GR.

The whole world has gone weird. Sudenly they call it Pretoria and Statesman doesn't seem to be too much of a nice guy anymore!
  13. Thanks for the replies.

Hmmm, so I have to think about it even more now. So I will be faster with Swift, but with Hurdle I would gain more vertical movement, which could help to manouver better through certain zones.

    Decisions, decisions? Hmm.

I guess I'll definitely try to have only Ninja Run on this one. Fits so well with him (I kinda always only use vet and booster powers that fit for the char, even if it makes my life more difficult).
Since I only have one MA themed too, he'll be the only one using NR.
I might give him a travel power should I reach the 60 month vet reward (it's only 9 paying month away ).
  14. I was just wondering about Ninja Run. I have a Dual Blade/Ninja Stalker and really love the Ninja Run Power on that toon.

Now I always hated leveling between 12 and 20. For most toons it means first get your travel power then get your stamina, while you really can't choose any of the really cool primary or secondary powers. I still wonder why the developers never reduced the importance of that stamina power (forcing everyone to use it feels wrong in my eyes).

Anyway. Ninja Power gives me a small boost in running speed and I'm happy enough with the speed for now. Just wondering, if I take swift will my speed increase even further?

This way I might be able to either not select traveling power at all or maybe select one later.
Anyone ever used Ninja Run as their main travel power?

EDIT: DO'H, I just realized I'm in the General Discussion forum and not in Player Questions as I though I am. Sorry for that.
  15. There is definitely something wrong with the mob placing in all of GR missions.
The same is happening during Tip missions. I really hope this isn't on purpose but just something they will fix soon.

    My worst was 2 +1 Lieutenants and 4 + 1 Minions.

Also bad mission where I had to defeat Boneeater and Maneater. Both where + 1 Lieutenants and standing side by side. Both had Superstrengh if I remember correctly, which where really a joy to take out with my Stalker who didn't have his signature assassination attack yet.

I am managing to get the missions done, but as others stated it less fun then missions in CoH or CoV. And more and more people are quitting Pretoria.

I'm still not sure what the reason is for having Pretoria so heavy. Do the devs fear will finish it too fast? The way it is now I'd rather finish it faster but have more fun instead of having so much downtime.
  16. Thanks for the replies.

Guess it's just bad luck. I'll keep trying then.
  17. I was just wondering. Today I completed 5 tip missions and the Vigilante alignment mission with one of my heroes to make him a Vigilante.
Worked fine and I'm happy with that.

Now I wanted to do move one of my villains to rogue status. I have bean beating countless mobs now (all level 20+) and yet no single tip.

I know it says 5 tip missions a day, but I always thought that would be 5 tip missions per toon.
Or is that 5 tip missions in total? So if I do 5 tip missions with one toon, I have to wait a day to do it with another toon?
  18. I still don't understand whay they didn't put that difficulty slider in.

I mean look what's happening. Some player complain it's too hard. Other are fine with it.
And what we have now is a long discussion if people just can't play the game properly or if it's broken or whatever.

There is absolutely no need for this.

I just don't get Paragon Studios on this one. Guys you already have a working solution in CoH/CoV that is working perfectly fine. Use it and this will stop! Easy!
  19. Thanks for the tip. Should I have any future technichal issues I know where to go to.

I turned of AA and changed the settings to recommended and no crashes since then. Weird.

Next I try is to put the settings to High and see how that works. I somehow suspect it's the AA.
  20. Regarding the Destined One Story Arc. That is exactly my reason why I didn't do any Story Arcs bar the Burke one with my Plant/Thorns Dominator and only did Bank Robberies and News Paper Missions off course.

That way I kept away very well from Arachnos. With GR I can kind of make that official now.

But following the Destined One Story Arc with my Dark/Dark Corr really saw me doing way too much for Arachnos (much more that he really would have liked too).
So still conflicted to leave hims as villain or not.
  21. The Vigilante missions are great. I honestly where not able to do all of them. There are different levels of Vigilante. My Hero will turn a vigilante eventually, but it might just take him a bit longer. Even as a Vigilante he has a line that he won't cross.

There is also the cowardly way of just dropping that tip and hunting for tips that suit you.
  22. Just playing CoV again and started turning my Plant/Thorns Dominator from Villain to Rogue.

He was one of my toons that only did bank robbery missions and didn't do any contact missions or story arcs (except for Burke's one). Teamed a lot with him though.
So he isn't really that much of a villain (unlike Pinky&Brain he doesn't want to rule the world).
So I thought, brilliant lets change him to a Rogue (he can't be really a hero as he still won't stop robbing banks for his own personal gain).

Then looked at my brute. Similar thing really. Did only bank robbery missions (I used to do that with toons I wanted to play for teamplay mainly, so I didn't care if I outleveled a contact).

Then I have my Dark/Dark Corr. He's really an enigmatic character and you never know what he's up to next. While he did story arcs he was really following his own agenda. Could easily fight heroes and also help them. Rogue seems to be suiting him best too.

Then I have my Arachnos soldier. I'm not sure there yet, but I did call him Roguefang because he isn't really that loyal to Arachnos.

So in the end I could easily turn all my villains to Rogues (can't see any of them getting a hero).
I think the reason for that that I really never liked the idea of my villains working for Arachnos and always saw them to be more independent and following their own agenda.
And for the first time the game gives me officially the possibility to distance myself from Arachnos (while only one of my heroes will go Vigilante).
Overall I think most villains in CoV are really Rogues and not villains (we don't do really villainous stuff).

Just wondering, anyone feels the same? Anyone else turning most of his villains to Rogues?
  23. It's really somehow an irony that the new starter zone is much harder and is also missing some of the improvements CoH/CoV got over the years (temp powers for example).

Sure some vets will love the challenge, but I still don't understand why they didn't include the difficulty setting in GR. Such a great tool.
People who want just a bit fun set things to easy, while others who want a challenge made the game harder for themselves.
In the end everyone is happy.

Doubt the hard difficulty will be any good for complete newbies to GR who never played CoX before.
  24. Enjoying GR quite a bit, but sometimes I'm in the mood for to solo and depending which toon I play fights can get really tough then. My Tanker doesn't really get into trouble.
Especially sine the positioning of the mobs is quite buggy as I found.
Often enough two mob groups are so close that you end up having 6 +1 enemies in one big group. And if you have two Lieutenants in there it's really then your solo career ends there (even for my tanker it's tough then).
    Quite frustrating really.

Is there actually a way to lower the difficulty like in CoH and CoV?
  25. There is a difference between necessary murder (if there is such a thing) or just letting your inner beast roam free and kill for lust.

The way the crusader act doesn't really often make sense in my eyes. Some members in there seem to bu just murderer who hide their fetish under a good cause.
Not saying all Crusaders are bad, but following the full Crusader Story Line really has me do some more then questionable things. It's actually worse then anything I did in CoV.

So yes, my Crusader is a perfect villain for me. But this is my viewpoint of course. Other can see this differently.

Personally I think it would be better if Praetorians would start as either Vigilantes or Rogues (as I said before, none of them is really good or evil).
