CoV crashes but GR runns fine! o.O

Hi everyone. Just a quick one. Anyone ever experienced this?

I have a CoX running on Win7 64. And when I play GR everything is fine. No problems at all.
The moment I try to play CoV (haven't tried CoH yet) the game crashes about every five minutes (blank screen).

Updated all the drivers and still the same.

This is really weird as GR is running fine. Also all my other games run fine.

Anyone had a similar issue and has a hint for me maybe?

EDIT: Sorry, I should have mentioned that I installed all the newest drivers and still no luck!

You might want to do a CoHelper log and post that. It's pretty important to know what your card is etc. I don't know if they fixed it but IIRC ambient occlusion didn't play nice with another setting on ATIs.

Just a thought. Pretty sure someone more techy than I will be along shortly.

I have the opposite problem. CoH/CoV are fine. Praetoria is a tad laggy and requires shadows to be on the lowest but one setting (down from where I can play CoH/CoV just fine) but an interior map in Praet with all the computer monitors just stinks. Fiddling with the settings on that mission doesn't seem to help at all. I hope they fix that; at this point I'd rather start in CoH/CoV than deal with that.

Thanks, I'll try playing around with the graphic settings. Maybe it will help.

I have an Intel i7 with a GTX285 (so pretty good spec really and they CoX should run deently on that).

For best results, post your issue and results of the CoH Helper and HijackThis in the "Technical Issues and Bugs" forum.

It's in the Development subforum, under the dev and community digests. The techie types hang out there.

Thanks for the tip. Should I have any future technichal issues I know where to go to.

I turned of AA and changed the settings to recommended and no crashes since then. Weird.

Next I try is to put the settings to High and see how that works. I somehow suspect it's the AA.
