Respect For Other Players In RV - Or Lack Of It

Must admit I hate PvP usually, since I can go from a total paranoid on full health to a fast-cooling corpse faster than a high performance sports car can do 0-60.
When I experience the faceplant if I comment at all it's normally been a friendly 'yup you got me... knew I couldn't PvP' or some such.
After these I've occasionally had friendly responses and sometimes the opposing players have said they'll more or less leave me alone (at least for a while).
That's never expected, and a nice surprise when it happens. Coming back after me is what I'd expect a lot of players to do (after all - I was probably an easy kill, so I'm just ready for farming). If they did that, they're perfectly within their rights and I knew the risks - they're playing the zone how it's meant to be played and it would be silly of me to assume that they show a lack of respect.
Maybe rather than attacking players for a perceived lack of respect, it'd be better if everyone realises that some players give the pleasant bonus of being 'nice' when there is no obligation to.
It's also good to see people offering support (as bodyguards) earlier in the thread - again, something nice that they'd have no need to offer.
I think it's in most PvPers interests to show some understanding/niceness to other players - after all, they can't PvP without other players to play against. If most PvPers showed a real lack of respect, it just puts others off trying PvP and possibly becoming regular allies/foes. Luckily I think most PvPers are ready to assist and will avoid you if asked (and they see the message) - but you'll never get everyone with the same attitude.
Also it's worth remembering that not all players have enemy chat on (I often make that mistake with characters first few trips to PvP) - so unless it's acknowledged it's possible that the opposing players never heard any pleas for clemency that you might make!

Yup, that about sums it up. I was in warburg taking on a team of three. Now I had my hands full there but still they complained because they were trying to get the scientists away. If there is no risk where's the fun? Seems a bit odd for them to enter and expect no attack at all in a pvp zone.

Very good point that a lot of people, particularly if they're not PvPers, forget.
I wonder if some people dont enable enemy chat just so they dont have to listen to the moaning though

I,ve done several missile runs with my darrk/regen normaly just befor i go on a tf and have been attacked several times only to be expected so i dont complain just fight back. But had to laugh i had a stalker attack me on my last run and instead of fighting running i just carried on with my sientist totaly ignoring the stalker and just using my heals when my bar started to get low wich wasnt very often. The stalker started to complain i wouldn't stand still or fight him. I finish my run with the sientitst and promptly dispatched the stalker ( dont think he had any shields at all) he says this suck im going to get my brute and stomp all over your [censored]. while he change toons i finshed launching the missile and went of to do my tf. as far as i know hes still wandering around looking for me

I was in RV last night trying to get the 1000 Points needed for the temporary pet power. Unfortunately, there were a few heroes simul-capturing pillboxes - most likely going for the pillbox badges - who kept resetting the zone.
So, I called in some cavalry and proceeded to play RV how it was probably designed. With me and another Mastermind we concentrated on shutting down the heroes pre-captured pillboxes, taking out the heroes as we went (Stone Tanks take ages to die in Granite!)
This went really well, as the Heroes captured more pillboxes, we recaptured others and the Temporal Points score soared nicely.
Later, we got another Mastermind join us so we set one person on seek and destroy duty. Keep the heroes hopping! Alas, it seems the three of us were too successful. After shutting down a Blaster, a Tank, a Controller and a Scrapper we were out of foes, we were the only people capturing pillboxes and so we won the zone.
I was 100 points off the reward. So frustrating!
Now, this may sound like a decent PvP story, and well it was unless you watched Broadcast - the Granite Tank was telling us to "find our own pillbox" and the Scrapper was saying "Can't we let the zone reset".
Come on people! If we'd have fought a bit longer back and forth with pillbox captures we could have all got the 1000 Points and walked away with something more than just a few notches closer to a badge!
I think people have really lost their perspective on this zone...

Not entirely true as only the winning side gets the benefit of the 1000 temporal points. A group of us found that out the hard way.
Both sides get the benefit.
Edited for additional info: I mean, been there, done that. You have to remember to wait until the 5 minute timer after the victory timer starts and make sure you don't lose any points from things like dying.

When ever i've had a thousand points and the opposition won the zone, i've got the temp power. Also wasn't there a recent post somewhere stating both sides get the temp power when the zone resets. Maybe you just had less than 1000. I think its possible for temporal points to go down, but i've never investigated this.
Then there are some heroes out there who aren't very honest.

With 14 pages (not read any other than the OP), what I'll say will probably have already been said, but it's my 10 penneth now!
Hardly of questionable character, maybe there to... I don't know... PVP in the PVP zone, perhaps?. Anything other past time is secondary.
Players are not obliged to kill you, this is true, you are not obliged to be there for any other reason either. It is made clear countless times, the zone WILL be dangerous, you WILL be attacked and has little to do with 'questionable character', respect or anything similar.
If I'm earning XP, Prestige, badges or d) other, I'm fully aware that I'm fair game and will either defend myself or leave. It really is that simple.

here's what needs to happen: on the loading screens for the PvP areas, there needs to be stated quite clearly:

#1 every attack is fair game - you WILL be attacked
#2 you dont talk about PvP
#3 you dont talk about PvP
Ok i was just told that the post on here was about me...LMAO. tbh i havnt got much to say to you other than learn to do mission's if you want xp and if you come to a pvp zone expect to die by my hand,it happens to most of you heros anyway.As for killing you again and again that i only do to ppl that start mouthing off in the zone after i have killed them(and again tbh 70% of you do.Maby they should just take the pill boxs out of rv or lower the xp so that all the pve ppl that come to pvp zones stop complaining.As for sirens being a place where "all the real pvp happens" thats not for me,i prefer to fight ppl who have all there moves and no restrictions!is that so bad.And just for the record even if this post was not about me,i would have still wrote it anyway as ppl(villains inculded) that complain about not having time to do missions for xp should not really be taking out there lack of free time on others!!! its a game 
this is what i dont get? - everyone agrees that its every man/woman for themselves, so with so many people agreeing that windging is even more of an excuse to kill the hero/villain!
so this is basically: Heros saying that Villains are complaining.... and Villains are saying that Heros are complaining.

PvP in a nutshell
only thing i find worng is how its viable to tp foe into a mob with no intention to kill your opponent, since it ahs to happen multiple times to be classed as griefing
Agreed Tp foe into base drones coz they cant fight you is a serious flaw that some1 needs to sort out!

Its no more or less viable than someone using KB to get people killed by mobs,which as more people learn to use KB against MMs will start happening a lot more as people realise that KB can be a deadly tool.

Actually no we hadn't. We'd already killed Ghost Widow and Scirocco earlier, and was fighting Mako when the timer hit zero and reset, hence our need to make him appear again and try AGAIN to 'arrest' him.
As stated earlier, this is going to be, sorry is, one of those agree to disagree things. You all have your PoV, I have mine. I can live with that.

you claim to have needed him to leave you alone so you could defeat mako, complaining that it was tought dealing with all three of them.
Despite the fact that you also claim to have already killed makos 2 friends and thus one stalker surely couldnt be that bad. Since they respawned icant imagine why you would choose to fight all 3 at once again as opposed to if you used the pull tactic to face them one at a time i still don't see how it was nessecary for him to leave you alone, he's using the zoen the way he's meant to, its not player hug player or player vs player but only when both of the involved parties feel like it. you coulda always asked some on a global for backup, if none can then accept the fact that its off peak like you stated and this is the kinda thing you need to deal with.
Respect goes both ways, you may want him to respect your only here to kill an AV, but he could easily believe you were showing enough "respect" to use the zone for its intended purpose as opposed to hindering the enjoyment of those who would.
In the end its PvP, anything goes
