at some point today (ptobably tonight) im going to the hive with a small group of people, on ym warshade, just to see exactly how hard the jelo hits. Now yeah, i know they can 1/2 shot heroes (so dont pan me :P) but im gunna check something out involving some CM/BF's and eclipse, something has occured to me, and i wanna see if its right

It'll hit you just as hard as if you went in there with no shields on. Hamidon deals untyped "Cytoplasmic" damage, which no shields have protection from, not even the "overcharge" ones like Eclipse, Light Form and Unstoppable.

How about a big bunch of /DA scrappers, going in dead (teledropped perhaps) and using their self-rez power next to hami. Enough to disorient him? Would that even help at all? Hmm.

How about if we forgo the hold phase, and just pummel him, then when he approaches critical spawn points, we mass disorient him. Can't spawn while disoriented?
Shrug. Probably nothing, but I've heard the mag of that self rez disorient is so huge, maybe Hami will be easily disoriented by as few as a couple of rezzers doing it.
How can we tell if he is... Does containment come to play on a disoriented enemy? If so a countroller could spam spectral woulds or any attack (bar inherents like brawl) and watch combat log for containment damage. If not, I guess it's hard to tell if the blob is disoriented...
Shrug. Do we even have that many /DA scrapper with the self rez at that level? 
Hmmm....what other powers are supposed to have huge mag?
I think poison trap from the traps set for MM does. I realise that Hami is hero side only, but you never know when you might get the occassional hero MM in the not too distant future.
So what other powers have big mags then?

I beleive end drain would be a good way of approaching the issue of the hamidon firing while held, he cant attack with no endurance and this is an established method amongst some US SGs who farm hami and this was before the changes in end drain shifted in our favour (% not a set number)

AFAIK Hamidon can still spawn Mitos even if he's got no end, they changed it a while back if I recall correctly..

Just avoid any kind of aura and any kind of cape, for the rest we should be fine since almost no one followed the guide last time..
But as a general rule keep the details as low as possible, use an helmet to cover the face to decrease detail further and use only one color for the whole cossie, based on your AT:
Tankers - Black
Scrappers - Yellow
Controllers - Purple
Defenders - Blue
Empaths - Green
Blasters - Red
If you can hold something put a purple stripe or visible detail on your costume.
