was it too boring being a scrapper / tank and being forced to stand at the side waiting for a HO during the holding fase.

I wasn't able to make it to this raid, but this part takes a little "edge" out of it..

Well, then I see no problem..

Well the holding fase took 10 mins or so, so it wasnt that long.

Yeah, felt like Hami was held almost instantly and before we knew it, he was below 50%.. We must have done something right

Iirc there were around 30 controllers in the hive? Did anybody check?

There were 34 unhidden in the Hive at the start of the holding phase (I can't imagine that many more had time to turn up before it was all over)

First successful Hamidon Raid for me (and the first one I survived debt free too). Only thing that went wrong was deleting the HO... <--- n000bz000r!

Wow! Amazing! Best raid I've been on, and the most efficient. Have we finally got a winning formula? Time will tell! Great Job one and all, apart from a few usual [censored] who were just following their own agenda, and even they calmed down after a while.

Thanks to the Xanthus and the guys - it was great to "meet" you properly over TS!

Thanks to all the mito clearing teams - it looked a bit iffy at the start, but once the lag cooled down we kicked [censored]!

Also thanks to all the guys and gals who were not part of the holding phase - your patience helped us to beat the blob.

Special thanks to Ace of Diamonds for helping me target the Mito's I missed.

Cya next time!

The holding phase lasted so little due to the amount of pure holders as well as the recharge times of holding spam.

Herostats came up with the number 14 for AM's stacked plus 4 SB's. This explains the speed of the hold phase and the success in killing hami. The more often these holders appear the better for everyone

Sorry I wasn't there to jinx it for you guys .

Was on my way to the raid, but I faceplanted halfways to the platform in the Hive... and then I couldn't be bothered to jump through Founders Falls, Eden and The Hive again to get to the raid, so I logged an alt.

Ah, well... it's just a HO .

Gratz to all of you folks. Fair play to ye all. After seeing the last few Raids and the morning mails of "The Server crashed and Hami vanished" its nice to come it and see a load of w00t mails.

I know you thought that was funny, but I had to do an insane amount of shouting to get people to move out of the jelly. It would help if you didn't do it again. If you want to suicide, just go stand next to the tank during the mito clearing phase. Hell, send me a tell first and I'll ask him to move so he's next to you.

What is even more important was that there was absolutly no interference in the flow of holds from powers that didnt need to be there. That was IMO the main reason to not getting a server crash.

I would like some feedback on the raid apart from GJ and stuff like that. Reason is that I would like to improve my guide to make things run more smoothly. Was there part of the guide that was obscure, would you like a full explanation of hamidon?, was it too boring being a scrapper / tank and being forced to stand at the side waiting for a HO during the holding fase.

I didn’t get to do any of the successful pre-ED raids, so to be honest it was a relief just to beat the blob. Under the current plan everyone has a well-defined role, and if we’ve got a hold strategy that works I’m happy. Gave me a chance to sit back, have a beer and listen to Coin’s set on Evo whilst talking rubbish on global chat, and that can’t be all bad

Well done all on Defiant, who all took part in defeating the Hammi.

Was a very smooth raid. Thankyou to the organisers once again, for doing a great job.

Knew was only a matter of time before hammi was defeated since ED and boy did we make it look easy.

Good job all.

The decision to go with "pure holds" rather than people with epics, and not to have a blasting phase at the end meant that the lag could not creep up and sucker punch us. I was more than happy to watch the Controllers control at the end.

The best bit was during the "everyone brawl Hami" phase, most exilharating running off Cowards Hill to stick an Energy Blast on Hami. I did 0.14 points of damage, go me!

Jolly good show all, I got me a HO!

I'd like to say thank you for drawing our attention to running CoH in safe mode, it resulted in a lag free hammie raid for me, at the expense of graphic quality yes but i think given the choice we would all go lag free, it worked a treat!

Thanks again to all who put this together

Nothing impure about my hold, but Ill still happily sit on the sidelines waiting if it will get us a succesful raid.
Obviously we have enough holders and enough buffers now, I can't wait to see us in action again!

I didnt try brawling, cause I thought having 2 controllers in my team would be enough. I didnt get HO, served me right :P I did get it later as a gift.. Thanks.

There were still some minor problems, but luckily we didnt get hindered by them. After returning to Cowards hill, 2 GMs were aggroed somehow, luckily the lag from the fight didnt affect the holding phase.

hello fellow heroes !

first of all congrats on your win over hami !
i'm from the french server and there are some questions i would like to ask you about your raid. we did a raid on friday and we also defeated the jelly, my questions are :
- how many of you attended the raid, i would also like to know the numbers regarding the different at ( tanks, scrappers, defs... )
- Did you use the same tactics than pre ED ?
- how much lag was there ?
- do you make the teams in advance ?

I've read somewhere that it took you only 90 mins, so my question is : How did you do this ??

thanks in advance for your answer

I cant quite put my finger on it but it did seem a little more dull than usual. And reading that part wherr scrappers hang loose and wait did put me off a bit. I know thats just the way things go. Maybe we need to organise something to keep us occupied. Hell I spy even.

Scrapper 1 " I spy with my little eye something beginning with J"

Tank 1 " Jelly"

Scrapper 1 "Ok your go"

Tank 1 " I spy with my little eye something beginning with M"

Tank 2 " MOre Jelly"

Tank 1 "Oh bugger. Your go"

Tank 2 " I spy with my little eye something beginning ith E"

Scrapper 2 " Even more jelly?"

Tank 2 " Pft ok your turn"

Question 1) It only matter how many controllers and defenders there are. Get 30+ Controllers.

2) Yes same tactic as pre ED, except for 1 small detail we did everything and I do mean everything we could to reduce lag, particular server lag.

3) It wasnt bad, except during the clearing fase, but right now we are thinking about how to make it go faster and more smoothly.

3) We didnt make teams in advance

4) Linky: Hamidon Guide Basicly the combination was great leadership and reducing lag to a minimum by only using powers that are essential.

Another key element of the victory - my controller (and everyone else too I'm assuming) had 12 accelerate metabolisms on him all the way through the entire holding phase so people's holding contributions were maximised
