Bristol Comic Expo: The Second RL GG meet up

On the saturday, look out for the one in black with the blue hair, about 5'7. Glasses, black studded leather collar, may be seen loitering around the PlayNC stand trying to hear secrets, or with one of the usual suspects.

Lunch on Saturday, I think a few of us are heading out to Sir Ronald's Eatery for Hastily Prepared Foodstuffs.

IWe're aiming to arrive in Bristol for 12... Hopefully by then most of the footie hooli.. uh.. fans.. Will be in Cardiff by then getting tanked up...

Checkin at the hotel starts from 14:00... Hope I can find somewhere to park!

The Manchester GG lot (i.e. Wordy, Birdy, Jennybear, Gideon and myself) will arrive late on the Friday. Anyone for drinks on the Friday night? ;-)

I'll probably need a drink when I get in, 6 hour train journey ain't fun!

anyone know how much a taxi would be or if there's a bus(or anyone willing to pick me up.. leather coat, orange shirt "shut up and eat" under top (rather humerously depicting adam and eve) jeans, tail... urm possibly steel toed trainers (great for footy days out and comic expos packed with inconsiderate people) or doc martins.

Dunno what to wear on saturday but i think i'll skip going to the "burger" house of HELL and get a sandwich from somewhere (does bristol have an o'briens?).. not that i'm healthy eating or anything like that. I'd just rather eat human waste than go to maccrapalds or crappy king or UnluckyFriedKitten. *shudders* urm... end rambling!!

friday night there's a plan for anyone who wants to meet up for a few drinks. I believe at 9 we'll be meeting in the Reckless Engineer.

Due to having money again, the Silent Hill idea is back on for myself and Jed on the Friday evening. Although I can't remember if I said it was cancelled either...

La la la la la la... If I make it to Brostil, I'm scheduling myself to arrive about 3ish. I've only got the A90, M90, A9, M9, M80, A80, M73, M74, A74, M6, M5, M4 and M32 to worry about.

I shall be wearing a kilt, hopefully this will be easily findable, of course I'm not actually going to the convention thingymajigger. So you shall be instructed on my whereabouts, then you must find me! It's like a scavenger hunt! Except that if you try to rip my entrails out and run off I shall be very upset. Possibly even cross.

You may see a guy with a pony tail wearing a T-shirt with a large Callista on the front ... there will be no prizes for guessing who is wearing it.

As I only have about a 25 minute journey I'll probably end up being latest :S some time Saturday afternoon I expect.

Taxi from airport is very expensive, it may say bristol airport but is actually a fair way from the centre, best bet is to get the Airport Flyer, then a taxi from the bus station to hotel (unless you are staying at travel inn behind bus station, in which case walk ).

Last we knew the plan was to meet in the reckless engineer (see thread)it is right outside bristol temple meads train station, I will be there from 7-7.30 just in case!

If anyone needs any directions to hotels or info about bristol, feel free to PM me, will be checking before I leave work friday.

oh, and I'll be the one in the Blue and White Bristol Rugby shirt!

Hee hee hee... Quoting myself... Do you realise that of my list of roads all but the last 4 are in Scotland? To be fully accurate I should also include the A92, although it's only about a mile and a half of it...

You don't reach Glasgow until you hit the M73...

Though I've met half of you already, and you'll probably be able to recognise me - for anyone who hasn't and wants to know which one of the scary, scary people I am - I look like this.

I don't have any nifty clothing , but I'll most probably be in something beige, brown or green.

I think the key component for me is the tail... a tail folks.. to please rebel and to exchange for max's hat *grin*

unless airport security rip it up to see if i hiding things inside.. they'll be fairly disappointed but I'll be angry and demand my flight for free. damn straight.

Right, Weasel, it's your mission, should you accept it, to lure Stase into the bar on Friday night (or Saurday, depending on when you guys arrive and how you feel), to allow for Zortel to capture and hug her. After which we shall all have beer (or ale, wine, cider etc etc)!

Oh dear. I too must use the M32. Actually the M32 is the main route into Bristol from the North, East and West as it is a spur of the M4... Hurrah.

Never fear!!! There are ways around! Go to maps.google.co.uk and if you're at the Haymarket travel in, search on Travel Inn Haymarket, Bristol.

Turn Hydrid mode on and zoom in a bit. Looks like you can get through that industrial estate just sound of the hotel, onto the 1 way, loop around it (it's not far), and round to the hotel... (Which is a huge high-rise btw... and a worryingly small car park.. :S)

I'm sure there'll be stairs... not sure which I'll take myself... that's probably dependant on the floor the room's on.


By current estimates, FFM and I will be arriving (at the hotel, I think) at about 13ish on Saturday.
