I'll try and persuade my dad to let me go. The way I see it, I have three possible outcomes.

1) It's a straight foward no.
2) He comes with me.
3) He let's me go with complete strangers (FFM and Max, seeing as I live in Worthing aswell), giving me some cash to help out with the petrol.

Order of the Cruciform/Crucified Swords - Defiant
50's - Tridento (claws/invul scrapper), Robo Medic MkIV (empath/rad defender), Entrino (dark/dark defender) & Captain Wombat (thugs/traps mastermind)

Hmm. Is this meet-up for the RPers only, or can anyone gate-crash?

Posted

Why are these always in the south of England?

The total distance from my house to Bristol Temple Meads Station (which is apparently right next to the venue) is: 443.6 miles, or in metric: 713.9km. Estimated time to drive this (obeying the speed limits and not stopping) 8 hours and 58 minutes.

Alternatively there is flying, which involves getting to Edinburgh (Or Glasgow) Airport for 5am on Saturday! That would mean getting up at 3ish!

[/ QUOTE ] Mostly for those of us who know each other through the Galaxy Girl Roleplaying meets and the GGOOC channel, hence it being the RL GG meet up.

Yeah, I did wonder about the name.

I'm well up for this, and will definately attend, for the chance to meet you all.

<Ponders if I still have real Eddie Munt's number, and what excuse could be used to get him there.....>

that tart in the miniskirt will be there?

I'm fairly sure they're going in alphabetical order from city to city, what with Brighton to Bristol and all.

Dude, there's an easy way to solve this. Get a train to Manchester, stay with Paul and I, and we'll ferry you down in the car! There's plenty of room - as long as you don't mind sharing with a grumpy wheelchair and a pair of fuzzy D20...

What just happened...?

Why did it enter itself twice...?

It's called crappy ubb.Threads forum software Jen... Don't worry about it, happens all the time!!

What? Eddie is actually based on a real person? *Bursts out into helpless laughter*

Should I wear something akin to Star's old outfit then?

Posted

Dammit! >_< I just remembered that one of my mates is getting married on the first day of the expo. I was ready to go to manchester on a 20 min train journey and cram myself into Wordy's car too... It would have been worth the leg cramps. Stupid southeners taking all the good comic conventions.

Which reminds me: Theres an ok comic thing every so often in Manchester called Comic mart. I quite often go there. Loads of cheap stalls and 50p comics (which are still in mainly in good condition. Some not quite so good.). Quite a impressive selection. So both Paul and Jen must check it out when they live there! Or else!

Talk about using quite a few too many times in a paragraph...

Posted

Hey, Jen and Paul aren't the only Mancs, Inny!

We could, actually, do an overall meet up at some point in Manchester, quite a few of us live here anyway. :-)

Posted

Yes Eddie is based on a real person who I had the displeasure to have to deal with some time ago. I joke about bringing him to the comic expo as:

a) It would mean I'd have to talk to the <insert swearword here>

b) He makes the CoH Eddie Munt look like a kindly old grandad

SO I'm afraid it will be just me on my own, looking like a slightly, podgier version of the CoH Eddie Munt, though any ladies wearing short skirts is always welcome.... <ducks Katana blade from Niall>

Posted

Auwch, my sympathies. I shall endevour to wear a short skirt then, so as to lessen the burden of the memory of anyone who can be worse then the CoH version of Eddie Munt.

Hey, any young ladies turning up in short skirts is fine by me. I may not be as much of a leg man as Crow, but I'm not going to look a gift skirt in the leg... or something.

Ok.... I'm sure I just posted somehting but it vanished so maybe I posted on the wrong thread.... Ahh well.

A meet up in Manchester would be cool. I'd have to find out when the next one is. It's right in the city centre. I already know 2 people who go almost every time.

Miss Ellie has yet to meet Eddie Munt, so I refuse to believe he's as bad as you all say until I've had a chance to draw my own preconceptions!

Awww, Prize, can you -please- come in with Eddie tonight, I will drop by with Star, cross my heart and hope to die. Someone is doubting all of us!
