Unnoticed, or just forgotten in the sudden escalation of events, Søren lowered the truck to the ground. He surveyed the chaos unfolding around him, shrugged, turned and began to head away.
-
"Sorry, Ry. These haoles ain't anything to do wit me. This was meant to be a private transaction, yah know?"
He looks over to Ed, who is clearly now broken out of the prison transport.
"But, seeing as how I tink I have completed the task I was hired to do, the transaction is now complete..."
He turns his head to look at the gang of thugs and their leader, "Let the ice bunny walk alone, dudes. I'm sure that she ain't gonna disobey her orders... They are backing down, yah know?" -
Søren glanced across at the rapidly changing situation, his original plans totally blown out of the water.
He glared at the new thugs, and at the hostage taker. "Yah both better do what he's saying. This ain't about causing bigger problems..."
He pulled the truck free from the building, and lifted the trailer slightly, "If yah want to make problems, yah get a truck in the face, yah know?" -
Søren watched Ryan's phasing trick impassively.
"I'm not wanting to hurt yah, brodad... But yah got yahself mixed up in one of my business transactions. I'd prefer if yah'd just, yah know, step away. Goes for the little ice bunny too..."
He grabbed the back of the truck, and the teeth-tingling sound of metal grinding against stone could be heard as he began to pull the truck from where he had wedged it into the building. -
((I hate working lates, things happen while I can't respond!))
Søren watched as the situation spiralled rapidly away from his original plan of attack. Seems other people wished to take advantage of his roadblock.
On seeing Cindersnap's arrival, he shook his head slowly. "Oh, brodad. Why're you getting yourself invovled?" he muttered.
He noticed Ed heading for the manhole, then the girl with the ice causing that to route to be blocked. "Hmmm. Fire and Ice... A difficult combination." He reached up and ripped off one of the doors from the trailer of the truck with a single hand. With his free hand, he pulled out a coin from a pocket and flipped it.
"Heads it's the ice bunny. Tails for my little brodad."
The coin fell to the ground with a light tinkle, Søren looked down, shrugged, then hurled the sheet of metal at Cindersnap. -
Søren Dekker waited patiently in a side street off of the transport route to the Zig. Accompanying him was the 18-wheeler truck he'd appropriated for the small job he had to do. Mounted on the top of a trash can at the mouth of the street, looking like an innocent piece of junk, a large, old mirror.
The prisoner transport convoy approached, Søren pushed against the truck causing it to roll forward slightly and as the first police escort drew almost level with the junction, he quickly pushed the truck out across the whole width of the road, slamming the cab, and the unfortunate first police car, into the building on the other side.
"Holy [censored]!" shouted the driver of the transport as he slammed on the brakes and attempted to swerve to lessen the crash somewhat.
The prisoner transport skidded sideways into Søren's roadblock, the police escort at the rear coming to a similar stop.
"Fun time..." muttered Søren as he viewed the scene he'd created. -
For the right price, I have a character witness for the prosecution...

*salutes the master*
Always top notch! (And almost top shelf)

Day three of my manic art splurge!
Today is one of my own characters, Canada Red.
And for those interested in the way I do things, here's the uncoloured original...
Enjoy and please leave comments! I does like comments! -
You are a very good dabbler! And pride in what you've done is well deserved.
Like Swissy said, if you're not sure about noses and mouths (or anything else), use references and practice. With time you'll get more confident and develop your style, so keep dabbling! -
I must be feeling in an arty mood right now...
For Shadow Ghost, it's a double-take of Tower of Power...

Comments, feedback etc. always welcome! -

another drawing he did last night was rather... Wowsome.

I think that would be...
This one...
Possibly.
Thank you for the comments so far... I like comments... -
Here's a quick wee drawing of the almighty Zortel's character Ryan (AKA Cindersnap)...

Feedback, opinions etc. All welcomed and, in fact, desired. -

And as someone who's just played through the Bloodlines game twice over the break, I can sympathise somewhat.

That game is slightly to blame for the pining... -
Isn't it odd when something you do just stops being something you have any compulsion to do for no other reason that the passage of time and interest?
I'm going to be leaving (for the third time) but this time it's not due to exasperation with other people or the endless boredom of grinding the levels, it's just that for some inexplicable reason I've completely lost all interest.
I think it's maybe that I've grown slightly bored with the superhero/villain concept... Or maybe it's just that online RP for me needs to have a counterbalance of PnP RP to keep my ideas running and my interest high, and seeing as it's been almost 2 years since I've played any PnP RP, the creative well has dried up...
I think I'm pining for V:TM, and the people I played it with. *sigh*
Anyways, here's What Happens Next:
Canada Red decides that duty's all well and good, but it's better to be with the person you love and returns to Toronto.
GX-XIX, the 42nd SCC droid, completes the assessment program and re-writes the entry from "mostly harmless" to "not-quite mostly harmless".
Half N Half leaves the Isles in pursuit of more riches to liberate in Washington DC.
So, once more, I leave. Although, going on my past performance, perhaps Please Wait... Service Will Be Resumed Shortly would be more fitting. -

(Jack Sparrow time) The thing in which we were afraid of god-moding our death is now the thing that god-mods it so we cannot die throught the method in which set god-moding fears occur...savvy?
[/ QUOTE ]
The paradox of time travel has created another paradox, because if said god-moding fears can't occur, why does there need to be a god-moded way to prevent the said god-mode first occuring?
Further question, why is it that travelling back in time makes people so desperate to murder their grandfathers...? -

What's the diff between an Ourobouros loop and a Mobius strip?
[/ QUOTE ]
A mobius strip is a one-sided shape ususally represented from an angle to make it look like the infinity sign (an 8 on its side, the boards don't appear to be able to accept the actual sign). Ourobouros is usually repesented as a snake eating its own tail and forms a circle. -

but as the great "Doctor Who" said "time is just a great big wibble wobble thingy amabob...."
[/ QUOTE ]
"Time is a big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey... Stuff." - Dr Who, Blink
Isn't there the whole thing about time being quantum related anyway? So that travelling back in time can't accomplish anything because you've already observed the outcome of all the actions upto the point you travelled back in time, and by having observed this outcome you've already collapsed the waveforms down to that point.
The problem with the quantum idea is that the can of worm is opened by travelling forwards, thus observing the outcome of possible future events which then would cause them to have to be the actual events because you've observed the outcome...
The non-linear, non-subjective big ball of wibby-wobbly timey-wimey stuff sounds a lot better... -
[ QUOTE ]
I know this plot lacks the whole "I only participate if I want to so my character is never subjected to anything I don't them to be subjected to" that the CoX RP community seems to thrive on (That and a disgusting amount of drama). But that is the whole point!
[/ QUOTE ]
That'd be the mutual consent of not having your character used as an NPC. From my experiences it's a pretty standard ingredient of roleplay, you choose what your character does and does not do.
[ QUOTE ]
You have a real villain doing a real villanous scheme. Be heroes and put a stop to it instead of whining like little emo children.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not really endeavouring to endear yourself to the audience here are you? All that last comment will do is further antagonise people, well done.
Oh, and it looks like the virus has been neutralised anyway... Clicky -
Because that's not what people are saying, perhaps?
-
[ QUOTE ]
So if someone returns the favour and godmods YOU by turning Terror into a greasy stain on the club window
[/ QUOTE ]
Or godmodes that they've been able to make a cure.
Or godmodes that they're able to EMP the whole of Pocket D.
Godmoding begets godmoding. I don't think I have anything further to add.
EDIT: Actually I do... Mad Scientists generally may have a level of disregard for their actions, but also have a very high level of regard for self-preservation. -
[ QUOTE ]
EDIT: [censored] Kelvin! Now I'll (again) be humming that for weeks!
[/ QUOTE ]
Bwhahahahahaha! Fear the power of the Chicken Song! -
Perhaps what you could do, if it is the case that it is only drinks that your character pours that would be affected, is send a tell to anyone that asks for a drink from your character so that they can then choose if they want to take part...?
-
If we can ignore the possible game mechanics points for a moment...
The main thrust of why people are reacting badly to your idea is on a point of RP etiquette. You're telling people they have no choice in the matter and basically rendering an entire game zone off-limits to anyone that does not want to take part, and the zone you've chosen is the only one that people can RP between Villians and Heroes.
You possibly could still have run the plot had you maybe asked people if they wanted to take part beforehand to gauge the level of interest and not set it in Pocket D.
And what will you do if people decide to just ignore your plot altogether? -
[ QUOTE ]
One of the main reasons I decided to roll with this is because its always annoyed me seeing people who play characters who cannot be affected by anything in the enviroment around them. Having to respond to something beyond their control is not something they ever do. So it will be interesting to see how they respond to not being in control.
[/ QUOTE ]
You want to know how the players that ignore situations outside their characters control react to a situation outside their characters control...? I think the clue is in the question.
It seems, from your words, that you want to control what other player characters do whether they like it or not. This really isn't a road you should be going down.
How have you been interacting with these characters that are being played as being unaffected by environment? Have you been going down the line of "my character punches character x in the face" or "my character swings a punch towards character x"?
If you've been doing the former, it's not surprising you've not been getting a response as you've taken away the other players choice of how to react, known as godmoding. This is the road you're currently walking down. Many players prefer to ignore godmoding as they cannot influence what is happening because they have essentially become NPCs, where's the fun it that?
If you've been doing the latter, you might have to arrange with the other player through tells if they're happy for you to do what you're going to do. Mutual consent is very useful to stop the other player feeling like you're treating their character as an NPC.
