  1. Amaya grows to herself, how **Dare** they gather outside her shabby little hotel room and have the audacity to shout in at her about the cirque and the carnivale.

She hugs her knees closer to herself as she hides in the corner between the far side of the bed and the wall, half mask in hands. She'd been so careful even when wearing her master's colours not to attract any attention, now somehow they knew her and what she meant. A solid link between the Cirque and the Carnivale of Shadows.. not that that was Jest Er's fault.. or any of them.

She looks around, the mnd was still there somewhere and yet she couldn't call out for anyone, not since the master had left her on her own again. But if Inago and others were back.. perhaps the Master was coming back too.. she'd have to get to the base first.. without having to cut her way through the crowd outside her room. She'd have to let herself use the shadows again.

    ((wubs Inny!))

  2. Froumian... I like it ^_^

the battle cry could be "For Rum!!"

  3. *remembers the time Molok was playing matchmaker and winces*

    Sounds fun ^_^

might have to have a few cause of us people who are horrible altaholics
  4. [ QUOTE ]
(As my mama always said, if you don't have anything nice to say, then GO TIDY YOUR ROOM THIS INSTANT OR I'LL GIVE YOU SOMETHING TO CRY ABOUT.)

    [/ QUOTE ]

heheh sounds familure.. that and "I carried you in my womb for 9 months.. how dare you be so rude! you gave me stitches!"
  5. i'm sorry i fail to see how it's godmodding.. you have to ASK the scotbot for stuff and then hope it gets it right.

it doesn't sound like god modding to me
  6. [ QUOTE ]
The Scotbot situation was not expected of course. Kelvinbridge stated elsewhere in his posts that he disliked the entire storyline and wanted to see it die, so the production of a printout of the signatures of every hero registered in the city was a pretty obvious attempt to close the discussion, all signatures gained - story over.

    [/ QUOTE ]

he did that before he decided the plot wasn't going anywhere

also you've bviously never played with the scotbot - there's abeen almost hundreds of them because they keep breaking and malfunctioning. they're also very rude and very scottish.

ie, one time he tried to produce an entire supergroup base for Red Commisar... and promptly broke.
  7. While i'm not withdrawing my involvement already posted and although the initial idea was very good and held lots of possibilities even "freeform" rp needs reasonable bounderies.

if you disagree i'm sure myself or another time manipulation hero will be happy to change time and make sure it never happened if you want to get out of this quickly and cleanly

  8. Joanne sat further up in her hospital bed with a copy of the petition, peering over her rose tinted glasses at the text even though that only made it look worse to her.

    "two questions spring to mind.."

Her brother's shining blue eyes looks down at her "shoot.."

"one.. is that miserable old sod, eddie munt involved with this?"

Gary Stevens, younger brother and prime example of hard working heroic non-super non-hero looked blank

"I'll take that as a no then.." Jo turned the paper round to re-read the new compromise petition that had been printed on the back.

"Secondly.. is one a revision of the other? are they two differnt petitions..?"

Gary gave a shrug "i think that second one's a seperate one in responce to some of the trouble with the tabloids and things" He tapped the top of the sheet "but neither of them have much good press, something about non-supers not being asked to sign.. i heard somewhere that one of the guys asking for people to sign got beaten up by civilians for toting around secret documents for heroes only" He shrugs again "some people eh?"

Jo bit her lip and scanned the page again..

"Life sized statues eh? a bit impractical.. i like the wall though - maybe just save time and scrawl all those name on the warwalls we have. I suppose I'll sign it, i'll never have a statue of me round here so i got nothing to lose really.."

Compromise petition signed - Joanne Stevens aka Pinkiinatrix.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
'As far as I know, a load of young male heroes, none of whom know Suzi directly, are going around idealistically with copies of a petition that noone knows what to do with.'

    [/ QUOTE ]

that seems to imply that the idealistic heroes don't know what to do with the petition - i'd like to think the organiser would have some clue as to what she would do when face with bits of paper that have lots of support on them.
  10. I never suggested i was unhappy about how my characters were written in briefly or otherwise - it's just slightly confusing that you keep saying it's all freeform when there's some stuff that it is still your resposibility to sort out involving the transit of this idea from White - through the PR and legal and then onto the streets.

    the way you're describing events it seems to me that;

    1. white came up with idea from chats with other SG heroes
    2. she drafted a petition
    3. ran it past "experts" who told her to change it
    4. she ignored the advice
    ((here's where it gets fuzzy))
    5. she asked her friends to sign it - they did without comment on wording?
    6. ... her friends took copies and passed it on? which then got passed on to more people thinking it was a good idea
    7. People started to object. tabloids got a hold of it blah blah blah and here we are now.

so.. from where i'm sitting it appears that there's no plans made for storing or counting or validating any information collected. This i see to be white/your responsibility to clear up for us please.
  11. there were questions other than the city hall issue, reguarding the OP's intention of how the petition would be collected, stored and counted.

edit: who said they were issued the list? they could have stolen it or "obtained it" from somewhere partial or full. there's many things that need to be clarified - are they "cold calling" on hero's houses are they staing in plaza's like those annoying gouranaga people (the first time is cute.. not so much the 50th).
  12. Quilla

    Outta here.

    later man!

this will give me time to think up more evil thoughts to pput in your head over the scotbot ^_-
  13. the OP could clear up this sort of thing in a second so like i said - just waiting for issues to be sorted.
  14. [ QUOTE ]
So I really don't see why it would have to be officially backed by anyone. I'd think it odd if it was.

    [/ QUOTE ]

so it's perfectly acceptable to use whatever means they're using to track down heroes to their homes to harras them into signing a petition?

I think i'll wait for the OP to reply to some other issues before continuing
  15. [ QUOTE ]
I just don't see why City Hall would have to be involved. I could draw up a petition in real life right now about, I don't know, putting up more street lights and go around getting signatures. I wouldn't have had to get approval from anyone to do so.

    [/ QUOTE ]

you could but unless the company or government who are supposed to be the ones making the change actually give two damns about what you want done then there's no point - without some sort of idea that there'd be an agreemet to do something if you get these signitures the entire exercise leaves a foul taste in the mouth.

"i got all these signitures! change the city!"

    "no"

"oh.. you don't care about what the people want!"

  16. April had spent the better part of the last few days in a cell to "cool off". She hadn't managed to retrieve the scotbot's list and she was fairly certain that by now all the signatures on it - including her own were in some database by now..

    Damn it...

She brushed off her slightly filthy white suit and walked out of the police station with as much dignity as she could muster..

She'd have to get the petition back.. something would have to be done to try quell everything.. above all her future must not come to pass..

An older man shoved a clipboard in her face..

"Hail fair maiden! doth you wish to put thy fair name unto this document of justice?"

April smiled ruefully "I already have tincan.. "

The hero smiled a big jolly smile... he looked sickeningly like he'd be a grandfather to many hundreds of children.. "Ah but you hath blessed this fair city with such a wonderful gift!" He bowed low..

April took the oppertunity to elbow him in the back of the head sending him sprawling to the ground and making her right arm go numb. "Yeah right"

Bending over she slipped his clipboard out from under his prone figure..

  17. I fail to see the line between the leaflet and the petition, I agreen entirely with Ghost on this one - if these people are tracking down heroes and bothering them AT THEIR HOMES and when they are working then they must have some official backing.

If they don't then please say so - I have a character who would gladly prosecute them for bothering her.

    [ QUOTE ]
As does saying it doesn't negate the petition. Unfortunately we have no 'higher authority' to look to to determine how this would be played out in the media, who are, afterall, likely to the ones to decide how such things would play out.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Quoted for truth. As yet there's been nothing apart from Kelvin's tabloid article that has been written reguarding this plot from the media view. I think you should at least make an attempt to write some news articles or press conferences from the PEOPLE and not the supers to suppliment how things are being percieved.

    [ QUOTE ]
I'm saying that trying to exclude other players you don't know is not in the spirit of good gamesmanship for any game. In a RP game, it comes a little close to god-modding to decide all by yourself what repurcussions someone elses actions will have for anyone but you.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    read it again carefully please.

    [ QUOTE ]
The OOC response has to be, well, what did you do with them? Your unnamed 'young hero' had them. Where did he deliver them? Did he delete them? What did he say about them and where they came form, and most importantly, to whom?

    [/ QUOTE ]

as organiser this is actually YOUR concern.. you never mentioned where the petition was being delivered, who was supporting it finacially, how the petition was being counted, are they using computers? ballets? is MAGI, GIFT etc involved? the city hall MUST be involved as it concerns the city - if the city hall couldn't care less then even thinking the idea has been a complete waste of time from everyone.

At the //very// least the city hall has agreed that if x amount of signatures were brought to them they'd do something. how many did they want? they must have had terms.. what were these terms.

did you consider all the possible ways this could have gone?
  18. i think what kelvin's getting at Ammon was that it's more comparable to say cigarette companies funding research into lung cancer and smoking habbits and passive smoking and then "finding no direct link"

it may be true but then again it may be that tha's what the company paid the scientists to find.
  19. Social Engineering

just something that applies to this plot's concept.
  20. maybe it's all the same young male hero... ooooo it's a conspiricy!!

or it's just the young male heroes who are drawing the short straws on the case - all thse female heroes are raking in the petitions y'know ;-P

    nah just kidding
  21. yeah i only just started reading that one- it made me laugh cause someone on the second page mentined auto heals.. and i only just discovered how to do that..

I have too many "funky" builds to comment though.. even though the pacifist scrapper hasn't gotten very far yet.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
Ah, but then there would have been a small scene where a few heroes take White Vampyre aside, assess the situation and have her admitted to a psycho ward for evaluation, rather than a plot.

    [/ QUOTE ]

that would have been entertaining too - it would have sparked it's own plot about how society is cruel for locking up a hero that wanted to "share the glory" i'm sure we could have knocked out a good few tabloid reports about it and achieved the same civil unrest in the end ^_^

    [ QUOTE ]
Let me rephrase: People don't like being experimented on secretly.

Also, I think you totally mistook what I meant by 'mind games'. I enjoy thinking like another person, it is one of the reasons I roleplay. What I don't need is someone manipulating me or my characters without my consent.

    [/ QUOTE ]

no no, i understood ^_^ there just didn't seem to be an adiquate smilie for it ^_-
  23. SuffraJester stood in a park somewhere in Skyway, it had been recommended to her by a passing hero and she'd assumed he had been very helpful.. looking around this was quite clearly not the case..

A few meters away a gang of trolls were watching her carefully, sniggering to themselves in that horrible... green way of theirs. Suffra frowned to herself and waved the big placcard around again.

    "Equal rights for clowns!"

    "erm.. excuse me.. miss?"

Suffra turned round quickly, startled by the sudden voice behind her, and slammed the board across the young hero's face by accident. Suffra winced..

"Oh! sorry.. it's just.. habit.. Are you ok?"

The young hero rubbed his face, certain there'd be an almighty bruise there later on.

"Erm.. SuffraJester.. I have this petition here.."

Suffra immediately brightens up "OH!! Yes.. I'll sign it... if.."

"if?" the young hero looks around uncertainly

"If you sign mine.. I'm petitioning for equal rights for clowns, we have no union y'know, we get made to hit each other and wear giant clothes and fit into tiny cars... we have a very short life expectancy from all that y'know. those red noses can be fairly toxic and all those horrible chemicles they put in hitewash and in our greasepaint and it just awful and..."

The young hero glanced sideways at the trolls, now on the ground in peels of laughter. He started to move away very slowly.. getting ready to bolt as soon as Suffra blinked..

Suffra looked around, te young hero had been very fast in getting away and she cursed herself for not holding on to him somehow.. ah well.. she hefted her board again, waving it around some more and doing her best to ignore the trolls..

"Cruelty to Clowns isn't a laughing matter!!"
  24. [ QUOTE ]
People rarely like being experimented on, especially with any kind of mind game. Especially when engaging in a hobby that's designed to be fun.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I had always thought that was the function of most roleplay - it being an excercise in being someone else and thinking like them.

    but i digress.

    [ QUOTE ]
When we reacted to it in character, we are told out of character that it is our interpretation of the words which gives it the insulting slant, and that we have basically read it wrong.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Raven's right there - there's no "right" way to read it, unfortunately a word document isn't the best way to get people to instantly see the original point of view - i reccomend demonstarations or newscasts in future to start off a plot like this.
