Very interesting and exciting to hear that 16 is going beta so soon! Wow.

And very relieving to know it'll be an actual Closed Beta. Those seem to move much faster and make for a better end product than the "Clopen" Beta 15 went though.

If I make it in, woohoo. If not, Testers... make it as good as you can.

This was my expectation. I suspect they're wanting I16 out the door around the same time The Competition™ comes out.

That's probably partly it, but I think they were closer, as i15 was a bit lighter than previous issues.

And they threw me off by not cleaning up i15 forums. It's usually *weeks* after those are gone, but if they are switching to the new forum software... they sorta pulled a fast one.


Still here, even after all this time!

Even with all the "Never Gonna Happen" stuff now added, I think this has a chance of being a pretty short beta. September 1st is getting close and it is a Tuesday this year.

There will be an Open Beta for Issue 16. It will happen sometime between the beginning of Closed Beta and the Issue going Live.


New story arcs coming soon (ARC IDs will be aded when I finish the arc):
So, you want to join the Hellions? (level 1-14 Villainous arc)
Sparks & Steel (level 5-20 Heroic arc)
and
So you want to join the Skulls? (level 1-14 Villainous arc)

As a few others have said, I would really like to be in the closed beta testing for Issue 16.

I did my best to log in and test and give feedback for Issue 15 (with the schedule I had at the time)... so hopefully that will help my cause.

And also I'd like to be given a slot as compensation for missing the Double XP weekend coming up (you all picked the only weekend of the entire year where I'm out of town).

Wow! Go beta testers go!

I fully expect to not get into this one, as I was gone and/or running smoothly through all of i15 open beta, I didn't have a single bug report that hadn't been sent a bajillion times already by others already...

At least I'm patient enough to live without new shinies for a month or so if it takes that long to go from closed to open.


All that is planned fails. All that is born dies.
All that is built crumbles. This will always be true.

But memories remain, And that is beautiful.

I'm so glad we are getting claws for brutes, and alternate punching animations for Martial Arts and Super Strength. I really needed something to get me interested in this game again. Nice to be excited about something again

Please do not pick me at all. I don't want in Closed Beta for I-16. I do not want to attempt to try things to make sure that the game is solid. I do not want to be helpful to the devs at all. I see no point in being picked for this silliness when it will not be very much long after Closed Beta that Open Beta, and then Live happens, and then I'll get to see what things look like. No sir/madam, I'm a happy camper to await Live on this. Really, I am. Thanks, but no thanks, I'm good.

/Not real sure that reverse psychology stuff works, but hey, I'll try anything once.

I'll elaborate: Issue 15 was...what, clopen?

Basically they're having a closed beta for this issue since there's actually stuff to test this time around.

The ultimate question, then, is will they listen? (If there's anything supremely [censored] up)

A good closed beta team can get be 100x more efficient than open better. Closed beta can be a very focused search for bugs or other mistakes, while open beta is basicly a giant cluster [censored] where most of the important stuff gets lost in the flood of chatter that fills the forums.

I'd like issue 16 sometime this year...so closed beta sounds like a wonderful idea wether I'm in it or not.

I'm surprised nobody has talked about the Power Customization demo the devs have running at Comic-Con. It was totally awesome to be able to play around with many of the powers that are receiving customization. You can individually tint each and every power in a set (all the same, or each one unique) and see animation of that power while you do (all powers in the set, regardless of the toon's level).

Oh, and the new "direct access" shortcut bar above the entire interface (with click access to each and every step in the character creation routine, in any order) is great! Especially love the new 'Check Name' button on the naming/origin page. (Thanks to Dark Watcher for pointing that out!)

I think you all are gonna love the new interface tweaks -- I know I sure do!
