Where's mah content? I want moar content! Joking, of course, but more missions and map types would make this game have much longer legs than just porting around powers. I think the announcement has a lot of nifty stuff, but I am keen on having this game keep going. Not really interested in Champions, which is far too much of the "look what we can do that CoX can't!" And meh, my style would feel cramped by having Superman and others around... I think this new comic world leaves a lot more interesting creativity options. So I'm not keen on DCU, either.
Proliferation has been asked about for a long while, so that's a good thing, should make people happy. I would have been really excited about Elec/Elec going to Tanks, but I'm thinking I want to try that with a Brute that side switches. Weaker resists, I know, but I have plenty of tanks.
What I'm really intrigued by is the alternate animations... I would guess that Martial Arts and Super Strength are only the beginning, which is great. I've been a bit annoyed by how many animations are shared between the powersets for years. No guarantee that the new ones won't be shared as well, but at least these are more options. Anyway, I'm more excited about the alternate animations than I am power coloring... colors mostly work as they are in game.
I wonder how they're going to work about people not liking color changes... will they only be viewable by you? Will buffs revert to standard color when on another players, so we all know what buff is on us? Or will they just be forced on us, and negative nellies be darned?

On second thought, this interests me. Earth assault for doms? It'd have to be a hodge-podge of existing powers in order to count as proliferation and not a whole new set, but are there any earthy powers outside of stone melee and earth control? I mean, maybe Hurl Boulder, but I can't think of anything this could contain other than a port of stone melee in some shape or form. I'm really curious about how this could turn out.

1. Most player content, IMO, sucks.
2. I'm looking for the storyline of the game to advance. The Coming Storm, the return of the 5th, the continuing battle against the Rikti... so many story threads left wide open.
I'm still pretty stoked for I16, but I hope they can squeeze in a little more of this story content in the near future.

Eh, I've been saying for a long while that they need to be coming out with varied types of stuff for each issue for awhile now. Some people want more powers, some people want more missions, etc. It would make the most sense to try to satisfy both crowds, but for some reason, all their mission creator people are holed up doing something else while the Castle and BAB crowd are making everything we're seeing lately.
Probably means they're hard at work for Going Rogue content, but that means some of us are SoL until then if that's the case. Not sure that's the best planning, but whatever. I'll have fun playing with the MA and Super Strength animations.

GR will contain a City's worth of content, so that's obviously what the "content people" are focusing on. The real question is whether we'll be able to get back to the "Zone per Issue" heyday post-GR. Or, if not a new zone, at least a new zone's worth of missions scattered among established zones.
My hope is that we will, since I13 - I16 have focused on ramping up the game's featurews.

It seems like they're just knocking out all the stuff that's been asked for for years. I think after Going Rogue, we'll start seeing more dev content in issues.
Personally, I'm a happy camper at the moment. For me, i16 is something I've wanted since I've started playing.

Power customization is exciting for someone like me who - while I don't roleplay - I like to make my character's conceptually complete. I'll finally be able to match Bubble Linda's FF bubs to match her costumes, Ellen Akres's healing powers can be the right shades of green or blue that I want to be - pee yellow radiation beams? AWESOME!

Where there's fire, there's smoke...and smoke hides just as well as being invisible. I could easily see a Fiery Melee or Fiery Aura Stalker work. Especially if Placate and Hide involved vanishing into a swirling mass of smoke and embers, and then reappearing in a sudden blazing flash when you strike, like a backdraft.

I've never understood why smoke in this game can cause stealth. Yes smoke can obscure, but it has to be on a grand scale. A moving smoke cloud on a city street isn't very stealthy...

Meh. I'd play around with the colors on a couple of character's powers but that's about it. The new powers being proliferated don't tempt me. The enhanced difficulty options won't be used by me. Not sure what else they could be saving to announce but all in all not very exciting to me.
Maybe I'm just tired of the same missions and contacts and story arcs, and GR if it's done right could renew my interest in the game, but as of now, I'm looking forward to trying the competition.
