Server Transfers =[

Why are server Transfers so expensive? i mean 10 dolors is kind of alot for a small thing i can understand that they dont want the funtion being abused because it can put strain on the servers and so but a simple 1 dolor would be fine =o?

The reason of my sadness over this is because i played first around 2005 with friends and they convinced me to play on Pinnacle and at the time it was fine but now its lacking people for my taste i like to talk play around in the sense of sitting in atlas and talking to people but Pinnacle dosent seem to have that going on like the more populated servers have =[

i just want to make the most of my game play

And you can. By starting a new character elsewhere, or paying $9.99 to transfer. Which isn't a lot.

$10 is far less than most games.

You can always roll a new alt on another server.

This.

And if the last time you played was back in '05, then you will find leveling much easier now (even staying away from AE.)

I primarily play on Protector and Justice, but I have characters on every server. I recommend that now that you are on the forums, go down to the server specific threads and see what's going on.

And Welcome Back!

As I've said: $10? I've spent more than that on lunch!

I have to agree with the general consensus. $10 is basically just enough to make it worthwhile for everyone who really wants it, but too much to make it so common that tech support is held down by complaints and requests from transfers gone wrong. The only thing missing is the ability to gift things like this (and super boosters, and more) to others, but allegedly the devs are working on something along those lines.

Besides, if you think $10 is a large amount, you need to find a better job. That's less than most cds or dvds, as well as less than many other games charge.

And when has that logic kept anyone from complaining?

By the way I also agree that it isnt that much. I have easily spent about that much for a slice of pizza and an energy drink(or 2) between classes

I did say or 2 about the energy drinks, and thats what I usually grab and have both downed by the middle of my next class. Plus this is in college, what do you expect?

Exactly, a slice of pizza and 2 energy = about $10

Server Transfer is WoW, $25, they can deny the transfer request if the server is too full and that character can't be moved again for a month and depending on level, there are limits to how much gold can be transferred and you must not have any active auctions.

Here, $10, no restrictions, move them again tomorrow.

Bingo. Yeah when server transfer first came out I thought 10 bucks was a bit too high as well but then I did some investigating and checked other games and what they charged for the same service. After boggling over what other games charged for transferring I quickly felt relieved that our transfers were only 10 dollars. It's a steal.

And while it's not *quite* as bad now, as I recall, when EQ first started, it was 50 bucks and you were nekkid. Double that and you weren't.

Thick or thin crust? I could totally see paying that for thick crust.

And what size energy drinks? The XL size ones are about $3.5-$5 each so that could account for a sizeable sum of it. But a little Redbull? Nah, ripoff.

I work at a gas station. Our enerys drinks are only a few cents more than grocery store prices.

250 mL Red Bull: $2.66
473 mL Monster: $3.50
477 mL Rockstar: $3.77
710 mL Rockstar: $4.92

That means that, at our prices, and depending on what he was buying, that slice of pizza was somewhere between $4.68 and $0.16

I wouldn't call 2 energy drinks and a slice of pizza a unilateral ripoff.

K, lemme rephrase then:

Exactly, a $3 slice of pizza and 2 energy drinks = ripoff

A 20 oz. (591 mL) bottle of pop costs around $1.25-$1.50 (potentially less if you buy it from a grocery store), and a 1-liter (1000 mL) bottle about $2.00-$2.50, IIRC. You can easily get away with one of the former caffeine-wise, and the latter can easily last a whole day.

Energy drinks are rediculously small and overpriced (they're almost as bad as starbucks) and don't really work. They don't do anything except give you a sugar high, and then make you crash and feel worse than before... plus, they take a toll on your body, which eventually builds up a resistance to all the extra sugar and caffeine. If you have to suck down two of them just to handle one class, then that shows just how worthless they really are.

Trust me, I know what I'm talking about here... When I was in college, I held two positions in my fraternity (one being pledge-educator, which was fairly demanding), I worked full time (3rd shift), I was on the football team, and, of course, I had a full load of classes, so I learned very well what worked and didn't work, what was real and what was just pyschological, and every other trick you can think of when it came to staying awake and/or managing sleep.

As for the pizza, $3-4 a slice is a rediculous ripoff. I could get a whole 14" one-topping hand-tossed pizza of reasonable quailty for $5 if I'm willing to just wait an hour or two for a gap in my schedule to get it (or grab yesterday's leftovers cold), and I'm willing to bet a similar deal can be found just about anywhere in the country.

It's always been cheaper to buy pizza by the pie than the slice. In my area slices run $1.50 to $3.00, whereas a pie runs $5.00+ depending on the size and who makes it.

Just like it's cheaper to buy a 2 liter bottle of soda than it is to buy the same fluid amount of soda in cans, 20oz bottles, or 1 liter bottles.

I think a slice of Hawaiian pizza ( made by the people working in the kitchen im guessing) is about $4, then I usually grab 2 cherry Amps $2 each... ok so its only $8. But still that is what I usually do every day during the term and that lasts me maybe 2 hours, while $10 for one server transfer that you probably wont do again for a while will last a hell of a lot longer. Still have to say its a good deal.

Along the lines of expenses i just got a brand new car for my 17th birthday unlike most kids my age im trying to be some what responsible for it and paying as mutch of the monthly payments as i can! so when 90% of my money is being put into a car $10 is alot D:!

Wow. You really have it rough.

I'm a disabled veteran. My disablity checks not only support me but I also take care of my elderly parents. On more than one occasion I've come up short at the end of the month and have had to sell my blood plasma just to keep my accounts active.

No one forced you to buy a brand new car. That was a choice you made for yourself. Now you have to live with that decision. You could have easily gotten a decent used car for a fraction of the price. Learn to live within a budget like the rest of us grown-ups. $10. is not a big expense for a one time transfer.
