PvP Was Fun For A Day
Nice. Which zone was bugged and what was happening? Apparently, I missed out.
It was an unnamed zone called 1230423042_320.txt or something along those lines. Anyways, it wasn't complete, it just had a street with 3 buildings, some civilians, and level 44 Nemesis spawns. But heroes/villain could enter the zone and attack each other. It was basically PvP without all the BS rules we have. It was nice being able to AS a blaster for 1100 and ET hitting for 1,000.
It also had the oldschool i12 TS rules.

Holy crap, thats just too cool.
[censored] I missed it, well where was the entrance to the zone at any rate?

Oh nice, sounds like that's the start of the new pvp zone for Going Rogue, I'm sure.
Ah, so was it a "free-for-all" zone afterall (like WB) or still "faction vs. faction? Interesting..
Alpha was it really i12 rules in play or just no dr no ts no heal decay....I mean was there still base res of 40% for squishy etc...
Sounds like you had lots of fun. I'm a newb so I was never around for i12. Could you elaborate on the rules and what PvPing with i12 rules was like?
There was no travel supression, no heal decay, no 40% base resistence for most arch types, there was no diminishing returns -
Kins were actually useful, emps too. (could have been pain doms as well but they came out along with the big pvp nerf bat).

In short, I12 was just like PvE in terms of how powers worked. There were a few things that were different but for the most part, powers did the same damage in PvP as they did in PvE, mezzes lasted their normal PvE duration, slows actually slowed, travel suppression was identical to PvE, there was no heal decay or diminishing returns, and buffers and debuffers were significantly more useful than they are now.
"One day we all may see each other elsewhere. In Tyria, in Azeroth. We may pass each other and never know it. And that's sad. But if nothing else, we'll still have Rhode Island."
I wish PvP was more like PvE. I go into RV and none of my slows work, I can't heal myself and I understand that my speed is suppressed every time I get hit. It isn't fun.
What incentive as a PvE player do I have to get involved in PvP if PvP is slower than PvE and has different rules than PvE? I mean, PvPers tend to be obnoxious idiots, but I find myself much more frustrated with the difference between PvP and PvE rules than the players themselves.

The devs say you're lieing, they say its much easier for casual pvpers to pvp now then it was.

I highly doubt it. You actually think the devs that have given us this piece of garbage system are going to go back and give us a zone where PvP is normal? HAH

It was Heroes VS Villains. Would've been cool if it was like WB.

Oroborus. You'd have to start a particular arch and then do "teleport to contact" and it'd TP you there.

Think of it this way. It was PvE Rules but with PvP.

The best way I could think of is....a non crappy piece of garbage system that was actually fun. Read my sig, the opposite of that and maybe you'll have an idea of what I12 pvp was like.

Don't forget, that as you stated, it was HIGHLY unfinished, which simply means they have not gone in and "coded" for the "new" pvp functions yet. However, it sounds very possible that it may be a new pvp zone for Rogue afterall.
If so, by the time it's finished it will not matter anyway. PvP is not going to be ressurected from the ashes.
A very sad story about War Witch and the neglected kitty. http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=219670

One of the instances of Pocket D was like that during the 5th Anniversary event on test. Everyone was saying "there's PvP in Pocket D on test!" and I was like "Meh," but I didn't find out until a few days later that it was I12 rules.

The Devs should do events like these... i know these were bugs but sometimes bugs can lead to good ideas.... especially for the expansion (hint hint).
If they could do zombie raids, rikti raids, holloween stuff, christmas stuff... why not a paragon city/rogue isle raids where for a short while villains/heros attack/protect a random certain part of the city... Obviously for RP reasons there should be a tough PvE objective and badges envolved for both sides. And to get to the zone you'll have to select Kings Row (PvP), Steel Canyon (PvP), Nerva Arvh (PvP), etc. and everyones gets put on the same lvl like in PvP zones here... that'll be good for Going Rogue... I think.

[/ QUOTE ]See here's where i have a problem, first is that a bug is way more fun than the actual pvp we have and i'm sure many would sign off on playing with the bug intact. Next for the devs to do a i12 event, indicates they know we want our i12 back, yet they spite us on purpose, by not atleast giving us the arena option which that shows they clearly have the power to do.
The funny thing is, even though you seem like one of the whiners that got the changes made in the first place, you're probably still bad..------Macskull on Crop_of_shaolin

So very sad that I missed that. PvP used to be so much fun. Now most of the people that presented a challange are gone.
How funny a pver is complaining that pvp is different and they don't like it ! - they changed pvp for the pvers.
youd be surprised at how many actual good pvprs are still around, some that pose a good challenge too. and this is on victory, where pvp in zones and arena isnt dead, but not at 100% either. xsfer one of your toons to victory, every monday we do fight nights in the arena, atleast 20-30 ppl show up, and its a good time. it normally lasts 2 hours. you will have plenty of challenges there...
In regards to your Sig...
Test PvP was not and is not for tools to go and feel cool. it is an opportunity for PvPrs from all servers to square off and see whos best in CoX. Have you ever even participated in test PvP, and i mean Tourneys and ladder matches? If not, then i wouldnt be so quick to pass judgement, b/c there were/are alot of elite players there.
uhh it's a quote from someone who actually said that - it's meant to be sarcastic.
Actually was able to get some real pvp in the day that i15 went live and that bugged zone existed. It was nice being able to play without all these garbage rules and what have you. Too bad it's gone now, there were more people in the bugged zone on Champion than in RV.
