Yo! I stop by the GP site every once in a while. Seeing that people are noticing suspicious scripts I'll have to stop going to it at work, heh,
Anyways, good to see familiar faces/names on here. -

I'm interested in participating in this Strike Force. I have a Super Strength/Invulnerability Brute that I use regularly to speed this SF. Sounds like a lot of fun and I have never attempted a Master Run. I have experience in mastering LRSF, LGTF and ITF. I don't much care for badging, but I look forward to a good challenge.

Quote:Thanks for the heads up. Its going to be hard for me to wait that long, though. I had a hard enough time waiting less than 24 hours with the previous freespec that was granted to us. I think I have some kind of video game disorder because I have infinite patience in real life problem solving, but when it comes to bidding in the market for example I can't wait over night... IT BURNS!Don't waste your money, wait til Dec 15th, another freespec is coming.

Quote:Thanks! I haven't played in almost a year and I had respec'd into a new build without even recalling Shatter Armor. See if I read the forums for Widow information I wouldn't have respec'd so many times. Looks like I'll have to buy another damn recipe >.<From what I've read in several Night Widow/Fort PvP threads (as well as my own though limited experience), if you don't pick Shatter Armor (from Mace Mastery), there's no point in playing a Widow in PvP.
I dropped Confuse this time around.

Here is my Fortunata build that I have finally got right after MANY variations of building a VEAT. I've had a lot of fun with this in zone and is built with arena in mind as well. Maybe you can get some ideas out of it. I should probably read up on the forums that the others have posted. Maybe I wouldn't have had to spend so much on respec recipes.
Fortunatas' doesn't do a lot of damage as LuxonS mentioned. Although, I can force a bad Psi Blaster into backing off or Hibernating most of the time. If I couldn't rely on damage procs, I probably would have given up on it. Rad Blasters? Forget it they eat me for lunch. I notice that Dominate hits for 95% EVERY time. Even against SR Scrappers in Elude. It recharges fast to boot. If you could get Tough into your build it would help tremendously. You're very squishy without it. I tried getting some recovery bonuses along with max hit points.

Quote:You have defeated Tentacle DYou are borderline, and the below is what certainly does not help you:
Psi/EM = -5 Note: Easiest thing in game, and broken
Sonic/Cold= +2 Note: Sonic is easiest blast set available for corr, Cold easily makes sure more than 1 power chain does not get off on a single target only, and has no self heal.
Rad/Therm= +1 Note: Rad is the most balanced blast set, Therm is the easiest Corr secondary.
Claws/Nin= +2 (without Sharks) or -2 (with sharks). Note: Claws/Nin is in no way the easiest primary or secondary for stalks.
So as there are some on here that might not get it, Having a positive skill requirement on your toons you PVP with is a GOOD thing. Having zero means you are not really getting any better, but are not getting worse. Having a negative means you are in a full handicap, which is BAD, and means with your dependancy growing your skill is decreasing. -
My Super Strength / Invulnerability is my favorite toon to play for TFs. I didn't have an Epic before the new inherent fitness perk. My build is probably the most undesirable build (not built for S/L defense), but I built mine for max hit points, S/L resistance, and some +endurance. My regen is like 47hp/s with Dull Pain and it kind of worked out on its own.
Previously, I had 80% S/L with 3,145hp with Dull Pain. I found a way to get a little more hit points with the sacrifice of some S/L resistance so now I have 78.?% S/L Resistance with 3,202 max hit points. When I get home I'll post my build and maybe you can get some ideas out of it for your own build. -
Quote:If you're going to spend 50 merits on 1x Thunderstrike just spend 200x (however many merits they are) merits for a Luck of the Gambler: Def/7.5% and post it on the market for 195-200M. It'll sell in less than 24 hours and you can buy yourself crafted Thunderstrikes.Well, I've never bothered playing the market before, and I've never used merits for anything before, so I had no way of knowing the relative value of the merits.
Not a big deal to me, really. I now have fewer of something I have never used. I'll know to save them next time.
Some good advice so far in the thread, thanks! -
Quote:Someone email/donate Thunderstrikes to this poor kid.I went looking for them at Wentworth's initially, but there were only a couple of them and people were asking 5 million plus each (for the recipes!). They were 50 merits each, and I wanted to get this thing under way asap. I figure, I can get more recipes over time, but I'm not likely to if I'm not interested in playing the character. Get him playable first, then worry about luxury.
Good advice from the Medbot. -
The original poster is looking for the best builds so that he can pwn. Let em' pwn or get pwn'd is what I say. Not sure he's really looking to make it a learning experience, but we tried. For all we know he could be another El Chido in the making. Oh hell...

Electric Melee and Spines are fine choices paired with /WP or /Nin. Maybe even Kinetic Melee but not sure if its as broken as its Scrapper counterpart.
I personally use Energy Melee / Regeneration (since back when Energy Transfer gimped). Its probably squishier than a Blaster/Corruptor/Defender/Controller ATs since they get a nice boost in resistance in PvP but with 2x heals and MoG it can get in and out of tight spots without using a Phase/Hibernate. I just have to know when I should be expecting incoming damage.
JonnyDeadSide made a great point about spectating and learning ATs roles. For example TAs, Grav, FF, and even Tanker/Brutes are a form of disruption. Normally, Tankers and Brutes in PvE get a lot of action but in PvP you'd have to pretty much beg for it and are essentially taunt bots.
In the end, you'll pretty much see the majority of the zone comprising of Stalkers, Scrappers, and Blasters.
Anyways, have fun with whatever you choose. Once you get really good at it you can step it up a notch and learn to Phase->BU->AS->Unphase a squishy in the middle of Caltrops, Freezing Rain, Rain of Fire and such and 2x shot em' and then Hibernate. I check how much hp they have before doing so and pop reds accordingly. I'll pop maybe 2-4 reds to 2x shot a squishie with 1,200hp. Blasters are typically capped in hp and I'll use 4-6x reds and Scrappers that around 1,600-1,700 I'll use all 400% damage boost to 2x shot em'.
To reach the stealth cap you need Hide + Stealth + Celerity: Stealth active. Nobody can see 'cept Widows with enough perception to a certain radius. Can't recall the numbers but they can he see you pretty good. I'm guessing 80-100' but someone can correct me. There is a way for enemy's to get the idea of where you are when they just enter your field of vision over the horizon. If you're standing still they will lose sight of you when they run up to you but it'll give them an idea to toss an AoE/PBAoE to pull you out of Hide.
I think I'll leave it at that. -
I'm not sure but I had a Mind/Psi that I used to use for MoLRSFs that had perma dom with 208.75% global recharge and all I could get was one revolution out domination in PvP just to see if I could. I mean in PvE I could use Domination on auto without Hasten and go AFK and still have it going when I got back with a cup of coffee. Kinda regret stripping that toon thinking about it =(

Quote:You are sMrt.So I finally started to grind out some hero merits (because hey there isn't much to do).
1 Hero merit = 11 tip missions or 50 Merits + 20 million influence (Can get 50 merits from Synapse I think which can be run in about an hour to hour and a half). Can earn one once every 20 or 24 hours.
1 Piece of Glad Jav set = 25-30 Hero Merits
1 Full set = 165 Merits
5 Pieces of Apoc = 100 Merits
Say you are looking at a Psi/EM 3 sets of glad javs + 1 set of apocs.
(3 x 165) + 100 = 595 hero merits to have your standard range offensive toon slotted out for PvP.
To be able to do that you'd also need 11.9 Billion influence (if you are converting normal merits) and run the Synapse TF around 600 times. Or you would need to do 6,545 tip missions.
You would need to do the Synapse TF every day for over a year and a half. (Synapse TF is 15 missions long though some are deliveries. Either way adds up to 9,000 missions)
You can only get 5 tips per day, taking you 2 days to earn a hero merit that way. Off tips alone you would need to do 5 missions 1 day, 6 the next and after 3 and a quarter years you'd have your blaster's main attacks PvPIO/Purpled out.
Awesome. -
It may be possible to get your stuff back. I let my 3 year old daughter run around on one of my toons and she found a way to delete and slot over my enhancements. I find that petitioning in-game takes longer to get a response. If you ask for help from the main website...
http://help.ncsoft.com/cgi-bin/ncsof...5sJnBfcGFnZT0x
... they get with you in less than a day. I found my enhancements crafted in my inventory the next time I logged in with an email from a GM to please be careful otherwise they may not be able to help me again. I was pretty thankful. -
So yeah... my subscription ends this month for both accounts so I guess it was all in good timing. Dev's litter their feedback in the "For Fun" section and nearly no acknowledgment of any recent PvP concerns or open letters to the Devs (that I'm aware of).
So yeah... g'game devs. -
Quote:I don't think VEATs will be "hot" until Going Rogue launches and we'd see Stalkers on both sides of RV. VEATs will then have a more active role but until then... meh.
Judging by what I've seen NW's aren't "hot" in PvP, as I have been the only night widow I've seen in four days of RV (Which is how long I've been PvP'ing. I do zone PvP most as I find it more fun.), and the forum posts, the ones I can find, seem to be generally negative to NW's in PvP. -

This thread made me laugh. Impy is persistent.

I use my SS/Invuln through ITF, LRSF, and LGTF religiously simply 'cause its capable of carrying a team on its own. Not saying that no other builds can't, but it can. Its pretty nice when your health bar hardly gets dented.
/Invuln can take Bab's Footstomp and State's Knockout Blow all day but Sister's Psi Dart will take a chunk if it manages to snag me through my defenses.
I aimed for capped hp but some highlights of my build had 3,157maxhp (w/ DP), 27hp/s before DP and 48-49hp/s w/ DP. 80% S/L Resistance and 122 max endurance.
Downside, is that it takes a lot of investment to make the build -
Quote:Actually, I recall a Dark Brute going down once in one of our officials at the beginning of the match and disconnected before he respawned. Just sayin' :-p
