Rv stands for Recluse's Victory, it's a level 50 pvp zone.

And btw, B Witched, your build has 7 Lotg +rech and they cap at 5.

meh I trew it together - fix as needed but the basics are there - I am sure it is different with this ato thing, but I always build for sharks, as and one follow up - stealth cap and percep cap if possible - speed and escape powers....giving stalkers scrap hp will change the way you play it as well as the changes to how they crit out of hide as well as the various incarnates that add in res or massive heals..

The rant came off like like someone who is bad at PvP and looking to blame their lack of coordination on "Armchair engineers and groups of 12 year old bullys" Excuses are excuses. The better players don't always have the best builds, I run around RV on my stalker that has 1 set of purples in AS, no pvp IO's and isn't even level shifted or alpha slotted, but guess what? I can still AS like no ones business and whether its finishing a target, or provding a huge alpha strike for other people to jump on, it works well.

Castle made VERY VERY clear that i13 was not made with the PVP community in mind, and the pvp community in turn cancelled subscriptions en masse, some moving on to other games and others simply disappearing. The most saddening part about the whole mess was that i13 was promised to be the first step in a sweeping change to PVP for the best, but nothing major happened after i13. PVP was wholly ignored after the initial bridge burning. There have been glimmers of hope since, the FPVPL Season 1 being the best example of this. There has not been a competitive league or ladder since (I do not count the last league with WARE in which the winner was decided before the season started).

That being said, I will make this perfectly clear: If the devs ever created a test server like environment with a ruleset similar to where we were in i12, dozens and dozens of "old school" pvpers would return. To put it plainly, no other game has managed to capture the enjoyment of CoH's PVP engine in its prime: its requirement for absolute skill and coordination and its 3D combat which allowed for so much invention and creativity.

I hold no hope that a game in this stage of its development cycle would suddenly have a reversion as extreme as what I envision, but it is nice to pretend it could happen.

    Who Killed PvP?

i13 killed pvp period. Tacked on or not the fastest and most exciting mmo pvp is in this game. IO's did nothing to change that...A skilled non ioed player could usually always beat an ioed out idiot...except for maybe perma dom. Teams in this game were easy to get on if you showed up to test and tried. Or if you really wanted to do it show up with your own team and learn.

Castle and his pvp fixes destroyed pvp. He listen to the carebear pvers who all said it was too hard, the pvpers run away when you attack them or gang up on you and kill you when you enter a zone. i13 he tried to introduce non gank code that woule reduce the amount of damage a player took the more people who had him or her targeted. The pve care bears all swore they would pvp more if it was easier...so he made the changes, drove the pvpers away and the care bears all said "woopise..I fibbed"
  7. I doubt a bill will do it - I used a lot of pvp ios - but - you don't really need to pimp out a stalker for pvp like that - You can swap out most of the pvp ios I placed in with regular ios - karma instead of glad shield for ex. You can make a perfectly decent stalker for a bill - just be sure you get the celerity or jump stealth. You will need stealth cap. You can use devastations in sharks instead of apocs as well.

I forgot to ask did you start off as a hero stalker or vill...I always asume vill. If you are a vill you have to go to the arbiter in rv in front of the entrence to where you would go to RV - the building Recluse and the other patrons are in. He will give you the mish for a patron. Choose Black Scorp becaue it is easiest and you can drop the kill all.

  8. AS should have the highest dmg slotting - typcially you can three slot with hos for acc/dmg and then three slot procs so if they all hit and the AS dmg and crit - well..it's beastly. You want your movement slotted up as fast as possible - you want oe be in, dmg and out. You need to get away fast if need be. I would not take fighting, you should go leadership, and you should slot placate better. You want to be accurate and not miss with AS..and placate is your tool to manage incoming dmg.

  9. I only slot unstoppable as a set bonus holder - +hp is a gimme but since most of it can dual for +recharge and my DP give me hp cap yea for me!

the resists you can slot with gen ios and add in a +psi res and an ageis...my arena taunt bot build is expensive though but it is hella fun to play. People would not talk to me on vent after being perma taunted and webnaded lol.
  10. err yeah taunt is -range - and recharges fast enough to stack..but anyhow

there are and will always be fotms. People refused to fight this or that because it was a min/max insta win feel good about you toon..or fotm lol.

There will always be a few that take a chance on builds and make them work but once they start winning that too becomes fotm.
  11. make your ss/invuln a taunt bot and you will be the scourge of rv.

if you can take your tank red side you get better res and the webnades - built right dull pain can be pretty much perma - you can slot the hell out of psi res ios and if you go the incarnate route and get the heal or res or def you can basically taunt/nade the whole map. You won't kill anything but on a team you will be loved.

    PvP drops

Ganking - gan' king - when a group of people attack one person. Sentence - Me and LaQuifa and Shondorella were out ganking stray hos on our block.

If you are killing an afk drop farmer you are just being a *****.
  13. there is a server called guardian??
  14. thanks to ts kins are pretty useless in pvp...u can run one but be prepared to team - take the team buffs - sb,sj,id,ir..fs is okay if you have a mm or two grouping up for a mass debuff.

I would also add in OS with Strike, Shocker, Squints, Gramma, Jeff .90, Hotshy, Rogue and Manheim starting. The inital ladder was FOL, JAL and OS in the top three spots.

I dunno lib WAR STORES has some pretty good pvp options and you can play across levels and get xp for playing.
