New Siren's Call Bounty System For All Zones
there are lots of ways that could be implemented to make PvP rewarding. buuuutt... the devs dont really care.
Zone PvP as implemented in CoH was one of the stupidest things ever.
It's like setting up a boxing match where anyone can enter. I mean 'enter' literally, not as in 'sign up for.' People from the stands can jump the ropes. A ladies' sodality hop in to set up a game of bridge. Homeless people wandering in. A racist serial killer. Everyone in the ring and hope a good fight ensues.
It'll take more than bounty in each zone to make it worthwhile.

Yep that would be a good idea. Would also help make high end builds more achievable for casual players. Doubt it will happen.
Zone pvp in RV is pretty much like zone battles in other games I think. The whole point is that it's unstructured and constantly subject to change.
Also being outnumbered doesn't mean you have to get jumped. Zergs in RV will usually come in, push to the opposing base, and then sit there in a pile. Just go around them. Pick off stragglers elsewhere in the zone or target people in the mass that are afk or gone to sleep--cause sitting in a big huddle gets boring pretty quick.

I've said for a while I would like to see actual incentive to PvP, such as objectives in zone that are actually rewarding enough to be fought over, or substantial rewards for killing a lot of people in zone, or having a high k:d ratio or something. That said, I don't ever see that happening. If PvPers get something that PvE'ers don't they will just QQ until it gets removed.

My **** is bleeding.
Take the Siren's Call archaic bounty system.
You kill a few players, based on their rep, you get up to like 2600 bounty per kill. A system like that could go a long way in all PVP zones. collect 10,000 bounty get 1 PVP merit 20 PVP merits = PVP Recipe of your choice. Adjust numbers as needed. The five minute timer would still apply as you don't get bounty from a target you recently battled. |
Good Idea
Conceptually?
I don't have a problem with that idea.
But I'd think the devs would be fairly concerned that groups of players would basically
cycle bounty targets repeatedly (co-operatively) to farm PvP IO's, and I'm pretty sure
that they'd see it as "too easily exploited" relative to the current drop rate.
YMMV, but I wouldn't expect to see something like this implemented.
What could potentially be implemented is that you could turn in bounty for something
*useful* (they're still SO's for cryin out loud), like astrals or "pvp merits", gated
on their 20 hour timer.
Those in turn could be exchanged for PvP IOs at a much more controllable rate.
I'd think something along those lines would liklier to be implemented.
Assuming, of course, the Devs ever plan to focus on PvP again in the first place.
My bet? Sometime about 10 Issues after Bases get fixed
Cheers,

I've been rich, and I've been poor. Rich is definitely better.
Light is faster than sound - that's why some people look smart until they speak.
For every seller who leaves the market dirty stinkin' rich,
there's a buyer who leaves the market dirty stinkin' IOed. - Obitus.
it won't happen because tbh people would abuse it - coordinated sharing of ganks kills to farm pvp merits for the best gear. Look what they did to pvp io drops because people farmed them.
Zombie, go eat some brains.
Zone PVP is awesome. Some of us don't feel like doing 1-on-1's or whatever the case may be. You go into a PVP zone and you're either offset or have the upper hand. It's Villain - Hero WAR. Not a '' Ok guiz. Lets settle down, settle down. K. So we're going to partner up now since we don't have enoug-- HEY! No firing your atomic ray gun, Billy! It's not time for that! Ok, ok. If you WANT a fair fight, use the Arena. You want to be ganged up on, and hope other villains/heroes appear to help you? Zone PVP.
I LOVE zone PVP in any game. AION's is one of the best IMO due to both factions having to chill out to fight a common enemy who enters the battle threatening both sides. If COH had something like that, it'd be pretty nice.
how about more PvP zones with better objectives and a scoring system that tells people who's doing a good job. When all said and done, the PvPer gets a reward to chew on. and that's GG.

Hazard Zones
The Hollows - lvl 5-15
Perez Park - lvl 7-14
Boomtown - lvl 11-19
The Tunnels - lvl 12-15
Striga Isle - lvl 20-29
Crey's Folly - lvl 31-39
Eden - lvl 31-39
Shadow Shard - 40-44
*Dark Astoria - lvl 50-54
Will it happen? I am pretty sure the answer is no.
Proton Sentry Peacebringer:lvl 50+++ - Human Build / Triform Build
Quasar Sentry Warshade:lvl 50+- Human Build / Triform Build
Red Katipo Arachnos Soldier:lvl 50+++ - Crab Build / Bane Build
Black Katipo Arachnos Widowlvl 50+++ - Fortunata Build / Night Widow Build
They just need to give villains access and missions to the hero's hazard zones and make them open world pvp. You will be lowered to the max level of each zone. For example you must be level 5 to enter the Hollows; however if you are higher than level 15 you will be exempt/malefactor the the max mission level of the zone. Villains get more mission content with the new zones and we get more PvP. Then they should make a PvP zone transport system.

Kill the enemy. Take their souls. Drink their blood.
I'd like to see that happen!
