i12 dUmb test team was the best ever.

Only if you throw out all those beatings we received From Velocity/JAL/VR/PX/AnyotherSG. Those don't count and you're a liar if you say they do.

I lol'd for a good minute.
Infinity and Victory mostly
dUmb, etc.
lolz PvP anymore, Market PvP for fun and profit
[ QUOTE ]
I can tell you right now that there were a total of two respected VGs in i12 (Renegades, and GMW - both of which held the #1 and # 2 spots).
[/ QUOTE ]
Except for the above quote I really have no opinion as to any of the rest of this 'conversation'. (I left during I13 closed beta when I felt the pvp game was destroyed.)
Back to the point, let's not kid ourselves... there was Renegades, and everyone else.
GMW never beat them. Not once in 3+ officials that I recall.
So to say "the only 2 respectable vgs were Rens and GMW" is an arbitrarily odd line to draw.
Was GMW the closest to ever beat them? maybe.
One of their officials went 5 rounds against Rens... I think that was your argument?
Then again one of UJL's officials against them went 4 rounds. Had we had one more draw, would we have been considered 'respectable'? I didn't think so.
UJL was notorious(ly bad) for winning a close round by 1 or 2, and then getting wrecked in the next round by 14-0 or 13-1 (actual scores!) This happened with both Rens and GMW, and we had 2 draws against Rens in one official (0-0 and 2-2).
I'll never disagree (along with Hellora I think) that UJL was at no time ever really in contention for first place in I12. Renegades and GMW consistently saw to that. To think we believe otherwise is a common mistake of the so-called arena elites. We just didn't take ourselves as seriously as those guys did.
But then what of DR, Freaks/Bloodline, lolVirtue, VR-C, who we beat consistently?
So were those pvp vgs even more un-respectable?
In other words, to call UJL a 'bad pvp vg' just because we were consistently middle of the pack doesn't make much sense...
[u]The *real* reason we were bad[u] (pay attention now, this is a little known fact) was because we were mainly a pve vg who recruited random pve'ers into our vg, tried to convince them to arena practice with us, which resulted in a roster of arena players putting little to no effort in anything that didn't involve farming.
If you go back and look at our (mostly) joke of a roster of unrecognizable names (including mine), it's pretty damn undeniable, and a fluke as to how we managed to do so well consistently.
Well, for a 'bad pvp vg' anyways.
shini: badger.
barrier: avid pve'er who we met while he trashtalked in RV with his group of 'frads'.
mel: nuff said.
me: french. When's the last time the french were expected to win anything?
rokur: wtf is a rokur?
Anyway, tldr version: the only respectable pvp vg was renegades. GMW was just another group they trounced, just like everyone else. That's just fact.

Another guy you've never heard of.
Actually, matches between rens and GMW were pretty close. Their last official spanned 5 matches. GMW also had several respected players - Zero, DJ, Siph, bloody, ajax, myk, kaiserin, fulc, m3z, and more. Vert was a highly under-rated offensive powerhouse too. Infact, GMW was almost akin to a vilside version of PX.
We can get into the back and forth controversy of Renegades using exploits/blah blah blah - but they certainly were talented players for the most part. I played briefly for OS (a hero side version of Rens). I loved playing with Fates, Ownage, Rogue, Spec, and Max on offense - they were increadibly fast on locks (except for Ownage. Ownage can't lock to save his life) . G.mim was a very solid emp too.
Not sure about the rest, but I don't think anyone can really claim they beat lolVirtue "consistently". lolVirtue was never on the ladder long enough for consistent losses. (both times).
"the reason there are so many sarcastic pvpers is we already had a better version of pvp taken away from us to appease bad players. Back then we chuckled at how bad players came here and whined. If we knew that was the actual voice devs would listen to instead of informed, educated players we probably would have been bigger dicks back then." -ConFlict
((Jess we did)) We counted the ERPvP we had....
lolVirtue always wins ERPvP
Really, we do
Seriously
Always

I don't know who you are, but I think you are black barrier and I honestly don't blame you.
Chello!
why not a paragon city/rogue isle raids where for a short while villains/heros attack/protect a random certain part of the city... Obviously for RP reasons there should be a tough PvE objective and badges envolved for both sides.

In my opinion i13 pvp is a major mistake.
[/ QUOTE ]
I can respect your opinion, and those of others. I run into trouble keeping my mouth shut when someone crosses the line and says something like what started all this:
[ QUOTE ]
As much as I hate to issue ultimatums: anyone who truly believes that i13+ PvP is better than i12 PvP simply does not have the experience to make that call.
[/ QUOTE ]
To come out and say that it's impossible that anyone else could have an educated opinion that contradicts yours is quite frankly pompous and ignorant. The worst part about this ongoing debate has been its not even a debate, itÂ’s a heated argument. I directly respond to comments, support my opinion with facts and specific examples, and get more unsupported opinions as replies. Lord, if you're going to "issue ultimatums," at least be prepared to defend your position properly. This type of situation tends to crop up when dealing with teens, so it's probably best that I realize he's most likely in high school and stop expecting any kind of reasonable discussion.
[ QUOTE ]
I've been a hardcore PvPer in my previous MMOs, and everywhere I've been I've seen the same thing : experienced and skilled players beating on less experienced and less skilled players. Organized teams beating on less organized groups of players. That's how PvP works, simply.
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree completely with your comment. However, are you saying that this situation no longer exists post i13 in zone? Personally from regular zone experience doing solo and group play, I still see that an organized team cleans house, and that's only with calling targets in chat. The problem I had with i12 as you could see from the details in my previous posts, has always been that without move and heal suppression, you had a situation where a team could play for hours vs all comers and literally not lose a single player if they were paying attention. Remember other MMO's never had to address an issue like this since their ground based play already properly limits the players options for survival. Under i12 rules, those limits did not exist at all. I also believe I presented a good argument that i12's zone pvp actually required less skill than the current incarnation. (the problem the young guy had was understanding I was not talking about arena, just zone)
