    KU, KD, KB, it's all the same. Do you have to buy KU SO's, or KD SO's or sets for KnockUp and KnockDown? No you don't...

    So yes...I'd say it is working as intended. If you have the appropriate amount of KB res Levitate and Lift will do nothing to you.

  3. They'll be taunted for however long the duration is slotted up for, then once it wore off you'd have to unphase to retaunt them. Unless they phased to chase you.

    No, only bad people rely on broken game mechanics to get kills. For reference go find all those Ice/Ems that got dusted off during the Blaster dmg bug that ran around for 2mo's doing TF's of 1200dmg or hitting BiB for 800dmg.

    So if that sounds like you...yea you could say you're doing it wrong.

    It's called the stealth cap...not the Stealth cap(foreverybodyceptillusiontrollers)

    You cannot surpass the stealth cap...It's a cap.

    Everybody has a base of 500ft of perception. From there Perception and stealth are simple adding and subtracting problems.

    Take your amount of stealth, Subtract it from the player's Perception and that's the distance he will see you from. Since you are not a veat or stalker, any kind of +Per and people will see you fine.

    The only good thing about SI is that it doesn't suppress like other stealths, unless you're interacting with objects.

    Bad Melee's perhaps, Smart ones will Kite through it. Jumping around and timing attacks so that when the animation goes off they land outside of it.

    The base end cost on HE is like 20 so an end redux isn't a bad option if you have space in teh build for them.

    For dark? I'd skip Tar Patch, Black Hole if you don't plan on fighting MM's, and perhaps the hold depending on how tight your build is.

    I say the hold assuming your taking a hold from your epic...mainly Soul Storm. More than one hold IMO is redundant nowaydays. Plus soul storm comes with free KU.

    Out of rad the only powers you really need are NB, XBE, CB and maybe the snipe...depending on build/playstyle.

    Disregard the EPP advice...just remembered this was a def build.

    Nice Necro... a lot of the new PvPers can go through and perhaps realize that a majority of the complaints on teh boards today have been argued time and again. Lot's of good posts in this thread though...gonna be a long read.

    Dark/Rad is good because it covers every stat in the debuff dpt if I'm not mistaken...

    -Dmg
    -Regen
    -Rech
    -ToHit
    -Res
    -Def

    Now add into that the mezzes you will have on diff timers...Stun(CB + HT), Hold + Pet Hold, Fear. Plus the pet heal...yea gg dark.

    So looks like we're missing -Recov, which unless your on a specialty build isn't anything to pine for. But if you realllllly did want it you could always slot a -Recov Proc into your debuffs. You don't even have to take Tar Patch anymore cause of the broken slow mechanics these days.

    I've played dark miasma since i7 in PvP and it's always been underrated. Rad blast is also very good with all the proc'd out goodness. So yea enjoy the combo. It was gonna be my baby until I decided to move on to CO let me know how it works out for you.

    Power Balancing

    They did allow players to pick powers like that many years ago in beta...and what happened was people picked characters that were non functional and unplayable. So they will not allow that again.

    The hard part about "balancing" these powers means that the devs will have to prioritize what they believe are the important factors in PvP and how important they are...and given their previous displays of pure ignorance in the realm of PvP I'd rather they left it as it is...People have adjusted yet again to a new style of play and while some things are universally hated, we've settled.

    That person was speaking of i12 PvP. With the unresisted sets of debuffs stripped from defenders they are now lower on the PvP totem. Corrs > Defs in the dmg dpt.

    I didn't do the tests themselves but some friends of mine did, they said defenders are basically always better then corruptors, that the extra damage at the end is nothing compared to the debuff defenders have or something along that.

    Next to everything has mez so rad isn't much of an option.

    I would go ice/sonic. You get heat loss, which is +recovery. Snow storm, which interupts aidself and i believe it gives permanent travel surpression. There's also some awesome slows in there but finally Benumb. Benumb is the killer. It makes them do less damage and their secondary effects are weaker, so Dom's holds are shorter, every toon heals less, and debuffs arn't as good. I'm sure there are others but i dont think i need to list them all.

    Mez Protection

    There is one power in the game that I'm aware of that grants mez protection and it's the Immob protection granted from Burn. It prevents immob entirely in PvP since Protection > Resistance.

    While overly verbose I think I know what you're asking....

    The devs balance powers around dmg, end, rech, and activation time. That's in reference to PvE. In PvP the game does it like this...it does dmg based on activation time, end and recharge factor in just like they do in PvE.

    They have a formula though it's exact composition isn't really known afaik. Some people have reverse engineered some data they've mined from somewhere and come up with their own ideas...if you search the boards you may come across a few threads that discuss the very topic....my search fu fails me atm.

    Hope this was helpful..perhaps somebody eles can clean it up for me...

  19. Advanced players are advanced cause they like a challenge...you don't get better by beating up easy mode noobs in BB.

    I doubt they'd come down there unless there we some kind of Drop hunger players around...that I could agree with.

    Kin/Elec def?

    Kin got nerfed royally cause the appeal to it was...Unsuppressed movement. Since kin has no more US movement the big draw is kinda gone.

    With slows being nerfed as well, Siphon Speed is probably useless, save for the +Rech it gives you.

    I'd just rerolly into elec/therm if you wanna drain.
  21. Ill/Rad isn't a bad combo.

    Rad took the nerf bat to the face with all the recent changes, but with practice it still works.

    Go for some +Rech so you can have your pets out as often as possible, and with them being out you can almost count on your opponent being perma suppressed unless they run out of combat.

    Ill still has decent dmg in its primary and a place for the placate proc, add to that deceive (Diff mez suppression timers) and you should be ok. I reccomend Power Mastery for PB Holds/Debuffs/Heals.

    It'd be good to get some kind of +Perc in your build but I'm not sure which pool to sacrifice out of SS/SJ/Stam/Phase. I assume your build will have phase or hiber since most Arena duelists need some sort of phase or hiber to take burst dmg.
  22. Rad/Dark is very potent...I rolled a def version right before i13 dropped hoping to make it my new fotm...

    I was actually referencing the person who said they had an elec/dark that could defeat Psi/Ems and Mind/Fires, unless I misread it.

    Proc'd out rad/dark corr is probably one sexy toon...I deleted my blue version so I'll never know.
  23. How in god's earth is elec/dark viable in PVP these days?

    Elec's dmg is subpar at best, even on a corr with scourge. The -recov is annoying but without Short Circuit or perma Tesla cage on the person you won't be able to drain anything before it kills you.

    I play a /dark in PvP and have for about 3 years now and I don't see how anything in /dark will make Elec any better, except Tar Patch...prei12 since the new TP doesn't even slow anything anymore so it's almost impossible to keep somebody in it. I've dueled enough mind doms that I know I can keep my toggle debuff up for about 8-15 seconds at a time before it gets detogged again.

    2 holds...for what? What's the point? You can't "Stack" them like before, with Mez suppression in the mix as well having two is redundant on a non Control AT. The fear is ok for stopping runners and stopping inc dmg momentarily but it doesn't drop offensive toggles, although it does provide a decent tohit debuff for a substantial period (20s).

    If you went PB for your mastery it means no Hiber, which means you probably have phase, which isn't horrible, but means you have no perception either, so you have to add some yellows to your tray against anybody with any form of stealth.

    And if I'm totally off and you have a butterfly build with one Travel Power, Tough, Weave, ect...(AKA not a standard PvP build) GL to you I hope you come to freedom one day, where a few decent PvP'ers with half a brain still live. So they can finally put that elec/dark to rest. I really have no clue how you're beating Psi/Ems with it...except for the fact that they must be horrid.

    While I miss some of the old style of play all this...give us our old **** back thread posting is really ****-ing lame.
