The TP Foe Bug?

Only reason I think it is bugged is because there was a stalker using it in hide, and he remained hidden.

The whole night this stalker Tp'd people while he was in hide. Never attacked, just laughed and stuff. I was played a perceptioned out /dev...never saw him unless I used some quirkly logistics.

Either way, I don't think it was intended that you could tp foe someone and not come out of hiding. Basically it was being used to grief last night. I didn't report it because I figured I'd bring it to the forms.

The correct approach is simply to pull anyone who uses teleport foe out of stealth/invisibility.


Since I'm on the subject, I'd like to reiterate my position of Teleport Foe. I don't really understand why it had to exist in the game. I've got a slotted out /devices blaster; teleport foe isn't necessary for me to pve or pvp. Even before my IO sets, I could work without teleport foe, but I'm certainly going to use it since its available.

actually when a stalker TP foes someone, they are out of hide. I've had it where i missed, or hit, someone saw me, and then droned me.

The only "glitch" is that you can placate while they are phased and it works, atleast, it makes me go back into hide, so i can AS right away.

If i Tp foe, wait for the little .8 second of phase and then AS, it does next to no damage because i wasn't in hide. When i teleport foe someone, the "hide" under my healthbar disappears. This bug was the case a year ago, and man did me and my friends ever take advantage of that, Build up, Teleport foe and both just hit AS as they started to run. But they fixed that.

Thats alot of wrong info right there. TP foe hasn't broken hide since the stalker buffs a few issues back. People complained about it so instead of having it actually break hide they put in the phase after tp timer. And yes really bad pvpers got alot of kills with it.

Oh man, don't even get me started on how many kills I got with TPfoe a corner and force-bubble (Still do). It's fun to be a bad PvPer.

TP foe really isn't an issue, it's fairly easy to counter.

It's not info, it's experience. When i TP someone i notice i look like i'm in hide, at the same time anybody with reflexes will hit me unless i placate. And after i TP, "hidden" isn't under my name.

Not to mention i stopped playing my stalker a year ago once they nerfed it. Used to be able to get a stalker friend, TP them and AS right away. You can try it, but it won't work, i've tried and some old players tried it on my squishy. It hits but it doesn't say assassin's strike nor does it critical for a bunch of damage. The closest i've gotten to it is to air sup the running by blaster after i TP him, and while he's flipped we can sometimes get our AS off.

So you have to be 'really bad at PvP to get alot of kills'.
So thats what i've been doing wrong all these years.

No, only bad people rely on broken game mechanics to get kills. For reference go find all those Ice/Ems that got dusted off during the Blaster dmg bug that ran around for 2mo's doing TF's of 1200dmg or hitting BiB for 800dmg.

So if that sounds like you...yea you could say you're doing it wrong.

That wasn't a 'broken game mechanic' you are refering to. It was the Dev's well thoughtout 'Inherents'. Blasters got [Defiance] which increased their damage multiplier the less health they had. Which is why you saw more people dropping off of building then during the 'Great Depression', and it continued until the devs changed it... eventually.

Actually, it WAS a broken game mechanic that showed up just after the devs changed to defiance 2.0. Mixed damage type attacks (such as Ice/Smashing or Energy/Smashing) did WAY more damage than they were supposed to.

Sorry I never saw that on my stalker of course they couldn't see me either, but I did see alot of falling blasters, and in reguards to the OP, TP Foe was never meant to take the player out of hide/stealth, or it would be useless on ill trollers, dev blasters, and all stalkers, so for PvP reasons they added the temp phase to the player being TPed. and I hate to say it but you can't have both, temp phase and unhidden foe that's just silly.

When stalkers were buffed after i11, the TP Foe bug came along. Castle admitted that TP Foe is supposed to unhide you, but didn't due to something that changed along with the buffs. Because it was considered a low priority bug, nothing was really done with it.

Well that seems kinda bias then, that it was meant to unhide stalkers, but not illusion trollers or device blasters. Seems like heroes were always suppose to win.

Well, it would suppress their stealth as well before (and I think now, but not positive). Hide, on the other hand, is different from stealth since it's an actual status. Stalkers currently remain in Hide "mode" even when their stealth is being suppressed after a TP Foe. It takes an actual aggressive attack to bring them out of it.
