I'll get you a cup of coffee. We're supposed to have coffee together anyway right? Also: let's crossdress for our date!

But every time I wonder about the logistics of doing this, you get all quiet and I start to wonder! D:

And, I dunno if it'd qualify as 'cross dressing' in this day and age, thanks to Mary Tyler Moore and her insistent desire to wear pants on camera. Now, it's socially acceptable for women to wear what were traditionally considered 'male' clothes, whereas the opposite STILL makes you a freak.

People confuse me.

I don't know, Mrs Doubtfire was all about a guy cross dressing as a woman to be able to be around his kids more often, and that was quite acceptable (only PG-13).

I have a partial answer, but it is long, twisted, involves the softest of science social anthropology and after I explained it, would still leave you feeling pretty crappy.

Pardon me if this has already been stated; I haven't yet gone through the entire thread.

*Ahem*

THIS IS NOT CROSSDRESSING!

Male characters have not gained the ability to wear lipstick, pencil skirts, or a wedding dress. Likewise, female characters have not gained the ability to have beards or wear some of the typically "male" clothing options previously denied them (I can't think of any off the top of my head). This is switching out one character model for another. There is nothing inherently sexual about this. It only becomes a sexual thing when people want it to be sexual, be they playing it up or trying to stamp it out.

As far as the cartoons examples go. What happen to two wrongs dont make a right? I never said i agree with it.

Actually I never asked if you AGREED with it. What I asked was does Bugs Bunny merit an "M" rating on his Looney Tunes cartoons because of his cross dressing, and if so, why hasn't anyone noticed in over 50 years?

You are contending that "cross dressing" violates the "T" rating, so I am wondering why Looney Tunes is rated for Everyone not just Teens, much less Mature, when it contains quite a bit of cross dressing. I am expecting you to reconcile this paradox or admit you don't know what you're talking about (or are, in fact, just a troll)

And could I also point out: This game has always allowed you to cross dress?

Steps to cross dress, workable since i0
1.) Make a character
2.) Log in
3.) Say 'lulz, I'm actually a <insert opposite gender> in drag!'
4.) Congratulations, you've cross dressed in 12-year-old style aka OP style.

The OP is unable to understand that costume slots encompass more than clothing. He is unable to conceive of the idea that a costume slot is anything but an outfit: if someone has a human costume slot and a lizard-man costume slot, then the human doesn't turn into a lizard in his mind, it puts on a lizard mask. Similarly, if a man changes into a woman, it actually put on a woman-mask and wore a dress. He's narrowly and hyper focused on the terminology "Costume Slot" to the point he believes it has an in-game reality. Why he doesn't consider slot 0 a costume I dont know.

But really all of this is because the OP simply doesn't understand what a costume slot represents.

It's funny but a couple of days ago I decided to play Devil's Advocate when discusing the new body type change feature and having to pay extra for it in a Booster Pack. In that post I talked about reasons why people, just like you, would get upset about this feature:

[ QUOTE ]
Another reason which is a bit less obvious but significant is that there are strange people out there who actually get their panties in a bunch over the idea of "sex changes" in a game like this. Even though body/sex changes are a classic comic book staple there are people who think that kind of thing is "creepy" or "sinful" or whatever hang-up they are using to rationalize that it should be avoided at all costs. The beauty of the "you have to pay extra for it to get it" system is that if you're one of those kinds of people who'd rather not deal with it then you don't have to buy it, thus keeping yourself safe from the temptation or whatever. If the feature was freely given to everyone then I'd bet you'd have some people all bent out of shape over it. *shrugs*

[/ QUOTE ]
I guess I called it 100%. Since you actually seem to be one of the hypothetical uptight people I mentioned I suppose you can "protest" this by not buying it and move on to let the vast majority, who do not have a problem with it, enjoy it.

Sorry your misconceptions have allowed you to have a problem with this new feature.
Ultimately that's your problem to deal with, not anyone else's.
