At what level can you no longer do missions alone?
<QR>
Level 51.
Solo'd to 50, four times. Scrapper, blaster, dominator, stalker.

With the exception of a few, now rarer, simultaneous disarm bombs missions

Of which no new ones have been introduced heroside in over 4 years and none existing villainside at all. Why the Devs never just removed them I don't know, our old content really needs a revamp.

ok....i'm startin to have a feeling that once reach a certain level, you have no choice but to do missions with others....is this true? if so, what level is pretty much the end of the line for doing missions solo?

Jay Doherty: Yes, there was this one night that I was ready to go home but had to drop the browns off at the super bowl before I left for home. While on the throne it hit me. I stayed for a few more hours and that why we have the pain pads in the game.
Something I've found that can be frustrating for new players is the difficulty spikes in the leveling curve. There are certain points in the curve that are much rougher than others.
As you approach 15, enemies start being geared towards players who have DO-level enhancements. They're pretty rough against players who are ONLY slotting what drops and not buying or crafting any enhancements.
Again, as you approach 25, enemies start being geared towards players who have SO-level enhancements.
As you start to climb the levels between 35-39, they start seeming interminably long. 39-40 is a crawl compared to 40-41.
Something else that sometimes affects new players is not understanding how the difficulty/notoriety system works. It's better now that players are explicitly told by Hero Corps Field Analysts and Fateweavers that they're altering the difficulty of their missions, but some players manage to pick 'Invincible' because it sounds like another super-hero title.
I played in beta and then picked up again in mid-i3. On my first character, I started feeling like giving up around level 14 or so because I'd managed to pick Notoriety level 4 because I thought it was a title and everything in my missions was orange, red, and purple.

Depends on the AT and build, for me. I've had a number of Defenders who were likely to be destroyed in Heroic missions. After level 40, my FF/Rad Defender would run into problems with any mission involving enemies that used Sleep effects (i.e. all the Rikti missions he was getting). And even without that, a +1 level Lt. spawn could give him trouble. Romans generally give him trouble, too, +1 or not. They stabbeth me through a PFF with ease and killeth me with a Critical or three.
And I find soloing Controllers, Tankers, and Defenders from level 5 to 22 to be practically impossible due to tedium. And as my highest level Controller closes in on 40, I find him to be so squishy that a couple of unlucky shots (either him missing or them hitting) can ruin his day.

Dammit, I thought I was going to be witty and say "51" but it appears I'm late to the party.
"One day we all may see each other elsewhere. In Tyria, in Azeroth. We may pass each other and never know it. And that's sad. But if nothing else, we'll still have Rhode Island."
If by "a few minutes" you mean about 15 hours...
There I was between a rock and a hard place. Then I thought, "What am I doing on this side of the rock?"
Ahem...
The level at which you can no longer do missions alone is...
The Level of Incompetence...
Thank you.

Like the others said, there's no point where you CAN'T solo anymore. I think it gets a little harder once you reach about level 40 though. AVs (or EBs if you're below invincible difficulty) start showing up a lot more frequently at that point, and even as EBs a lot of them can be tough to solo. Snag a shivan, or even bring a tray full of purples to pop and you should be fine though.
Indeed. I routinely solo EBs with my Emp/Dark defender, both at his natural level 50 and exemped down to various levels. It's very rare that I need backup, and so far Shivans have been sufficient for those cases. One tray full of purples and another full of attitude can work wonders.
The Way of the Corruptor (Arc ID 49834): Hey villains! Do something for yourself for a change--like twisting the elements to your will. All that's standing in your way are a few secret societies...and Champions of the four elements.
While there are a few annoying enemies to deal with, by and large even the toughest bosses can be brought low by eating your tray. 3 or 4 purples is pretty much total invulnerability. I sometimes get the feeling that emptying the inspiration tray isn't considered an option for some people, or else Ghost Widow and the like wouldn't be such a problem.

I've got a mission where Ghost Widow as a EB drops my level 41 corrupter every single time and I can't drop it. So I wouldn't say you can always solo content no matter what.
My current plan is to outlevel the mission and see about picking up a Shivan and a nuke and see how it goes.
[/ QUOTE ]
Need more facts, because Ghost Widow is hard, but not insurmountable if you plan out your inspirations and such. And as someone stated, a Shivan thrown in never hurts.

I tired initially with a tray full of inspirations and came close but died. I noted I had a shivan already and went back to try it but I messed up on letting it get agro first and she dropped me quickly (using my last charge). So far I've died three times solo... so thus the plan to get a new Shivan and use it better.
But I'd rather they just let me drop all missions instead of just most.

What was your inspiration load? It's up to you, but I might take another crack at her. She's probably the hardest EB in the game with the insta-hold, but even that can be planned for.
Some other tricks for "soloing" this mission. Clear out all but her spawn, then leave the mission. Find some other corrupters or MMs and get them to cast whatever buffs you can get. Then get back to the mission ASAP and kill her.
And there's always Warburg nukes from orbit. It's the only way to really be sure (not really, but I like saying that. )

Last time I went into it, having been cajoled into it by a team with the promise of PvE missions, I got snagged by TP Foe shortly after zoning in and nearly ganked by another player. So, yes, definitely a PvP zone. Though it may be practically deserted these days, I won't chance it.

Team? See, there's your problem.
If anything, it gets much easier to solo the more you level up.
