I'm game for RP, regardless of what character I'm on. That being said, I'm in a current RP light SG that's full of mostly me and another person's alts. We'd gladly take more and would enjoy people in to either start RPing or the like. Other than that, I'm kinda stuck on the RP front. Got a few RP friends, but nothing that's as constant and plot driven as would be in a SG. I have been starting to branch out by making characters specially to join RP SG. The down side is that they are only for a very small populace (though not all necessarily want to stay that way) and thus I can't get on them and instantly start RPing with one or two other people.

I RP whenever, wherever I am, so long as the team I'm with (or the people I'm around) seem RP_OK. Which doesn't seem to happen all that often outside of my SG (But then, I'm a loner, and I rarely if ever team with anyone else anyway).
That said, if you see me on, and I'm not otherwise busy doing whatever it is I decide on doing... I'm usually up for stuff. Though if I don't respond (I almost always respond to /tells), I probably just (or am in the process) of logging out to switch characters or do something else.
I have ADD.

Personally, I gave up on the whole idea of RPing stories, and doing any serious RP. Mostly because I have seen it fall apart in the middle too many times due to one or more of the following:
1) Lack of time for people involved
2) Players leave the game
3) Too much time between sessions so people loose track of things
4) Too Difficult to get involved in the story lines
These don't hold true for everyone, just for myself. I try to have a well rounded life and CoH/V + The Cape is only one aspect of it all.
That being said, there has been more and more splintering of the RP commnity, mostly cause people tend to get tired of beign told they are RPing wrong. So they stay with only people they know.

It's a semi-RP'd F5 thread. The tradition is just to keep it fresh.

I was on my new Scrapper, Napoleon Washington last night. Joined a sewer team.
More than HALF of us there were RPers! 
There was me, the chatterbox/sarcastic/biting insults teenage type.
There was a (presumably newbie RPer) bigoted, confused PPD cop who had been transferred to Paragon from the NYPD. (it was interesting talking to him, since he seemed to be a superhero "racist"...)
There was the kind, but stern healer who made the occasional remark and made sure my insults weren't taken too seriously.
And then there was the "acting team leader." Not ACTUALLY the team leader, but the hero that never cracked a smile, and was DEAD SRS BZNS. Still, a fairly good RPer.
And then there were a couple of other dudes who didn't RP, or even type words. Which was alright.
This has given me new hope. Mostly because a guy that I spotted as a new RPer. Note the word NEW. Which means that we're not Freedom yet! Hahaha! 
I've teamed with three people this week - playing for short periods in the dead of US night.
Two were fully fleshed out characters with bios and we talked in character the whole time - not a single double brace to be seen.
The other one was a all-caps named character broadcasting that he needed help getting to the next level. He responded to in-character chat when presented with it.
So I'd say its alive and well.
I think part of the SGness too is that a lot of us just don't have the time we once did to waste time doing whatever and would rather spend the time we do get with friends who know our characters.

That, I do all the time I RP, I'm a jerk who try to kill my teammates, tell them how much they **censored**.
I also do crazy stupid move, then yell at ppl to stop doing just that pretending It's not I that did it. "WHO DID THAT, I WANT NAMES NOOOOOWW!!"

I am not much of a role-player, but our Academy chapter is pretty active still in RP. I have seen as many as a dozen people involved in different storylines on a week day. Not sure what the draw of it is myself, but they seem to enjoy it alot.

Do people still RP on Virtue? Certainly we do. I've been RP'ing for years with the Dauntless Reverie, an active RP SG, and also with Anathema, our RP VG. RP'ing as :"always being in character" is pretty second nature to me, and yes, general IC social interaction is RP, same as you might find at any social gathering place -- the D, Atlas Park plaza, Gemini Park in Galaxy, the University courtyard in Cap au Diable. IC social RP is in fact a great way to get a feel for a new character's "voice", and even random interaction can generate pretty interesting opportunities not only to help draw out a bit of someone else's story, but sometimes to create in counterpoint a possibly new perspective on your own alt..
Plotted RP storylines are still alive and well, but there are logistical issues to them which make it generally easier to run them with an established and stable group of people. Not impossible, however -- I've seen some terrific pick-up plotted RP from time to time, and made good friends through that as well. If you are interested in planning something like that, an easy way to get the ball rolling and get general community participation on a plotted storyline is to post the beginnings of it on the Virtue boards (or any Server you favor), and wait for people to begin responding in text replies. If there's a good response, next step can be to initiate an IC meeting for the characters now involved, at a spot of your choosing, and let things take off from there.
I have been delighted and maybe lucky so far in RPing on Virtue. I've yet to see a single cyber in the corner at Pocket D...yet to have anyone tell me how to rp my toon, I can find RP practically anywhere in the game where there are people...

nah, I've had similar experience, though I have had someone hit up one of my char's trying to pick them up to cyber with them in the D. Schrodi. Who drinks coffee brewed in Deuterium, and has an attention span measured in nanoseconds. it was...amusing. for me anyway, I think I broke his brain when she kept not understanding what he was hinting at, launching into paragraphs of technobabble untill he ran off.

Sure. I enjoy both running stories and enjoying the stories of others in the Paragon Universe sg. In general I keep it to the SG or to our coalition-mates, just because it's good to know who your audience is, especially since they're the ones doing most of the work. I'm just providing basic external factors and plot points for them to react to and resolve -- the story's about what they do with that. And then there's some rock-em-sock-em action thrown in for the folks who enjoy fighting AI critters.

RP is mainly SG based at the moment. Would RP more openly but it's a rare thing to find to be frank.

TS did though. When people were using it anyways. That's typically what folks using TS were referring to anyways.
I avoid the D, unless it's unaviodable (like Winter Event), and I'm still RPing in plots, stories and just basic missions.. however, like others have said, it's within the supergroups I'm in. Only once in the past couple years did I join a PuG, find out all of them were RPers, and we RP'd through the last RWZ arc. It was great and a rare find.
