PvP farming

Strange how many people did not like the farming done in AE. But nothing is being done about people having two or more accounts farming in the PvP zones. Have you tried going to Bloody Bay lately? If thats not ambuse, I don't know what is. Can't even enter zone cause everyone is farming at the entrance. If you really think about it, the game is not fair to new players. Mission tips says you don't have to use the new IO enhancements, but a new player can't compete with a veteran without them. Then a new player can't get the new enhancements cause they can't fight for them in the zones and can't buy them cause they cost too much on the Black Market. Would that make a new player want to contunie playing the game??

And this is what kind of Technical Issue or Bug?

Wrong section of the forums.

Suggestions is down there "v" somewhere.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

omfg yes. The last two threads created like this were defeated, each in a different section. I guess that's what happens when GM Conversations are posted.

The OP rocks.

Bloody Bay isn't more "popular in the sense of PvP" now that people farm there. It's more "popular in the sense of Farming". Farming and PvP, there is a difference. There are also people who get defensive, claiming that it is PvP. They know, but refuse to admit it so they can keep farming.

Just thought I'd leave that here.

Mission tips doesn't state you don't need IOs in "PVP". The PvE portion of the game is 100% playable w/o IOs.

And as others stated, wrong board

Other things to do for fun, make a stalker with fly or TP foe and kill them until they leave. Or make a blaster and do the same.

Or you can just roll a blaster or corruptor and join them and see if you can kill their bait before they can.

Its risk vs reward right? I was popping in to get a shivan and saw someone farming a alt. I hung next to the alt and killed it every time they tried to rez. Was pretty easy seeing I was on my stalker. Kept it up until the person logged.

Me = risk

I'm sorry to inform you, but "god" doesn't own this game or the rights to it.

Paragon Studios does though, and there are rules everyone has to agree to abide by every time they log in. No where in there do I see the right to play however I want, nor any rights afforded to me by god himself

Your paying for a service, but just because you pay for it doesn't mean your free to do whatever you please.

What your suggesting might be allowed in the context of those rules, but I'm sure its frowned upon as evident by updates and limits imposed to curtail exploitative farming, which in the end, ruins legitimate play for everyone else who is more than just a casual player.

Those "people" who end up ruining a good thing for everyone else are people like you who take advantage of it and then try to defend your actions by twisting the whole thing around.

funny..i am playing the way i want...*shrugs* maybe in your world your not..but i am in mine

Hi I understand where you are coming from. Below are a series of posts I made in another thread regarding this subject. Pay close attention to the progression to the final conclusion that I reached regarding ALL farming.

[ QUOTE ]

So let me get this straight. People are dual boxing and friend to friend matching where one kills the other risk free in the hopes of getting a high value PvP IO drop?

Hmm... Very interesting.

[/ QUOTE ]

[ QUOTE ]

I don't see any risk involved in doing this in the arena do you?

Just so it is clear, since there seems to be some misunderstanding I have placed no value judgement one way or the other, I just found it "interesting" that they allowed this kind of risk free mass farming of PvP IO's.

Certainly, interesting in the current I14 atomosphere.

Wow, I have to say that this makes me a bit chaffed. I don't get how there has not been a nasty memo about this like it was for other things not being used as intended.

No worries, I now feel no pain with feeling that he needs to shove both of those memos up his keyster. Carry on.

[/ QUOTE ]

Final Post:
[ QUOTE ]

There is "supposed" to be some kind of risk according to them, but that seems to only apply to a certain type of farming. That is total crapola...total.

I have ZERO problem with players farming this till the cows come home. I have nothing but contempt for devs and players hypocrisy concerning the issue, they can ALL shove their righteous indignation about farming up their keysters and bugger off.

[/ QUOTE ]

YMMV.

The development team and this community deserved better than this from NC Soft. Best wishes on your search.

Okay, let's turn this around on you. Can you come up with a way to curb the farming that won't hinder 'real' PvP'ers from getting the recipes?

As far as I can tell, 'new' players don't PvP much. So PvP recipe farming really has little or no impact on new players. Also, I'll state the blindingly obvious: once they're high enough to get into a PvP zone, the new players can farm the recipes just like anyone else. Once you can get into the zones, there's no additional 'barrier to entry' to prevent farming.

It doesn't read right...

"I'm sorry to inform you or exist..."

Grammatically, you'd probably want that to read more like this:

"I'm sorry to exist, and also sorry to inform you..."

But... I *suppose* it could work either way... I'm not real sure why you'd want them to say that though...

/what do you mean, 'that's not what you meant?'

August 31, 2012. A Day that will Live in Infamy. Or Information. Possibly Influence. Well, Inf, anyway. Thank you, Paragon Studios, for what you did, and the enjoyment and camaraderie you brought.

[/ QUOTE ] Whether you agree to rules, terms and conditions, or are bound by laws... everybody certainly does have the "God given right to do whatever they want".

You're laws are saying I can't rob a bank? Well I can certainly try. God gave us free will. That doesn't mean it's the right thing to do, or that I'll even go through with it, but I most certainly have the "God given right to try" if I wanted to... and then our society will take action and put me in jail. lol

It is not a bug or a glitch. It is an exploit plain and simple. The ones rezzing as soon as they are killed are doing so without wakies. They are using an outside program to cause them to keep getting up without using a wakie.

[/ QUOTE ]

Actually, a group I know of (and have argued about this with) plants themselves right by the contact in BB because they most certainly *are* using awakens. A 50 can hold quite a few - and buy them quickly.

Yes, I watched them for a while - die, rez, die, rez several times - then a several second pause before the next round of rezzes. That, repeated, was enough for me to believe that they're just burning awakens left and right.

Or exist?

*duck*

Start from the top left, then work your way right. When you get to the end of that line, start from the left of the second line and so on. Now put the words together in the order you see them.

Well now the freakin joke is ruined...

Well, given the way the original sentence was written, your addon made it a runon sentence. You should have added to his post by saying, "Nor does he exist?" This is a separate thought and makes clear gramatical sense.

Let's just get back to call each other names and contesting the merits of farming. It's more interesting to read after all.
