I guess I should be able to herd up a group of chimeras and be safe then, being that he uses primitive "mundane" weapons such as the bow and katana...

Its so much easier to softcap defense on a tanker than a scrapper. I could've dropped weave, but taking out boxing means 1 less purple set, and I hate SJ without hurdle. I'm not worried about my teammates so much (I'm selfish.) I'm really just worried about being able to solo the first 2 missions of the ITF. I think the endurance issues are going to push me towards Phalanx Fighting. I have enough recharge to keep active defense double stacked permanently which, with hamis, puts me at about 75ish% DDR (I think.) Thanks for the replies guys.

It may seem that the grantable shields would be more than enough, but they're really not. With his idea, where he'll be needed is at the cysts (the suicide jockeys are the ones getting the mission done.)

From my experiences (an ITF almost every night for the past month or so) those AoE rockets are already firing, and the squishies usually die anyway if they're still on the platform towards the end. The bubble idea sounds good to me ...at least to keep them away for the last 1/8 of the computer's health when its really tough to keep everyone alive for just. a. few. more. SECONDS!

I definitely don't. Tanking Rommy on my scrapper isn't a problem. Tanking the nictus away from Rommy and the rest of the team isn't a problem on my scrapper. Tanking anything with one of those ambushes descending down upon me IS a problem ...I dont need AAO saturated that badly ..I just need to stay alive.

More than half of the ITFs I've ran were completed without a tank. The use of force bubble the way he mentioned just might make that all the easier.

Here's the scenario: 47% defense to all positions already, and a level 49 power pick of either phalanx fighting or grant cover.
In your opinion, would the extra 5% defense (this is for a tank, but I find the scrapper forums so much more informative) from phalanx fighting be more beneficial than the 17.3% defense debuff resistance from grant cover? Keep in mind I run an ITF almost every night, so I will be running into debuffs regularly.

I stopped reading after the first few posts, but just wanted to say blessing of the zephyr set bonuses ARE awesome. My scrapper wouldn't be softcapped without them. Also, universal travel enhancements don't enhance multiple aspects with the intentions of enhancing said multiple aspects within the same power. They're called UNIVERSAL travel enhancements ....they enhance multiple aspects so they can be slotted into any travel power. Otherwise, there would have to be a different set for each travel power. I had thought this was obvious. You don't buy a universal remote control because you need to control your 150 different brands of television, you buy it because it CAN control those 150 different brands, and one of those brands happens to be the one you own.

I don't have a lot of experience with Trick Arrow, but off the top of my head, I would say that a good AoE Scrapper would probably pair up pretty well with TA, maybe a Spine/Dark or Spine/Fire. It might be a little rough before SOs, but that can be said for other Defender primaries.

As a bonus, if you do play well, that Scrapper may compliment you by saying something like "Nice debuffs!"

I slotted smite a little unconventionally, but it works well for me. 4 Clouded Senses (including the damage proc) and 2 lvl 50 generic Dmg IOs give me 83.32% dmg, 60.9% acc, 39.15% rech, 17.4% end, and 13.06% tohit debuff. The set bonuses are 2.5% status resist, 2.25% max end, and 6.25% recharge.

Just a note on FSC: The sword is only out for the duration of the attack. You wont be holding the sword afterward (as you would with FS or GFS.) That said, I can barely see the sword at all with all the whirling and fire anyway.

I was crafting Steadfast res/def and -kb IOs for cash, then the bronze rolls started happening. I had to pull about 20 of them out of the market and re-sell for half price.

By saying "completely purple this toon" I assume you mean to slot 5 purple sets. You're going to need at least triple what you have now, probably more. You may already know this, but I figured I could save you a little disappointment in case you don't. More to the point, I would choose the tanker. I'm a little biased by the fact that I have a (40ish?) Sd/Fire tanker, and I'm absolutely in love with it.

Whats wrong with that? You kill more stuffs, you get more loots. If I work more hours than a fellow employee, I expect a bigger paycheck. If our hours were to be averaged so we could have equal paychecks ....well I would probably just have to kill everyone.
