You ever fall in love (with a character)?

Once I got the Magic Pack with the High Collar Cape, Dark Matter Wizard is officially my favourite villain. Right now anyway, I have no attention span.

Human beings deserve love the least; sad but true. 98% of them, anyways.

you realize that you just said you dont deserve to be loved, dont you? thats even pretty depressing to me.

Not at all what I said.

see that kind of answer only works on the internet, my own fault for trying to have meaningful discussion. continue talking about how fun the chest and [censored] sliders are to adjust.

..... And with that uneccessarily hostile answer to my neutral response, you have proven that you're not worthy of all that much love from me, amirite? Its not often that someone illustrates a point so handily! Thanks!

Love, er.... no.... wait...:

p.s. the only sliding my bust-scaler does is downward; nothing looks stupider to me in this game than maxed-out bubble boobs. But continue on with your loveable generalizations that have no relation to reality!

I've fallen for several of my characters over the years. I think my favorites are:

Sgt Pandora
Rad/Rad Defender

Operation Arc Light
Energy/Energy Blaster
(especially her)

Cornucopia
Emp/Energy Blaster

American Dreaming
Inv/EM Tank

Not the carpet, per se, carpet in general.

Well I do have 10 version of my main character and write an ongoing "comic" (just words no drawings) of her, with her adorable wife also.

I can't stop playing Teen Machine, my new Elec/WP Brute.

He's a teenage Indie Rock musician shooting for stardom, when he signed a deal to appear in a New Reality show (financed by Crey Industries). He got more than he expected, but he's taking his shot to be a Star.

I play him with a regular team on Mondays, and I log on with him constantly during the week, turning off XP, just to play him more. Merits? Tickets? Accolades/Badges? GottaGettemAll. He's also my Marketeer, so he's starting to be able to afford the Good Stuff.

I have other costumes for him, but they are all just for playing around with - he always fights only in his one 'real costume.

I mostly play to get new powers and fiddle with them, so I usually get a character to 50 and then abandon them. There are only two characters I've enjoyed enough to keep playing them past that point, and they're also my only two characters with purples, so I suppose they belong on the list.

My rad/rad defender--About the closest thing to a jack-of-all-trades that I care to have. She blaps! She blasts! She nukes! She debuffs! She heals! She buffs! She controls! She gets teams really easily because some people have yet to catch on that Lingering Regeneration is no longer the best -regen in the game by miles!

And my earth/fire permadom. If rad/rad is a swiss army knife, then the dom is a sledgehammer. She is in charge of MEZZING EVERYTHING in four ways at once and then setting it on FIRE. I'm fairly certain she outdamages my brute once you factor in the AoEs.

Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.

No, I didn't read your OP.

No, you shouldn't ask how a ghost can carry children.

ok geck, late to the party, but yes, as a lark when chase and his wife mad e a bug themed supergroup, i make a green hornet styled broadsword/wp named lady bizzybee. well, i have made bug and bug-like characters before, but over time i really came to like her, despite not caring fro broadsword's flow, well, when shields came out, she got rerolled as a broadsword/shield scrapper, still a bit squishy, but danged if i dont have fun screwing around with kind of over the top period superhero costumes, given that most of my characters really arent part of the spandex and masks type, so actually making a mask and spandex'ish hero was kind of fun. various situations came up that my friends havent played on that server much, and im not really connected to anyone on virtue, but out of pure bullheadedness, im still pugging her along.

also, i have loved the general concept of my main tanker, space robot 5, who i have rerolled several times due to concept shifts and changes in gameplay(the ability to have multiple shields up at once changed a lot when it hit), but now am actually approaching 50 with. he has existed in various forms since june of 04.

I had a love affair with my very first tanker. Invul/SS. She was my first 50 and ended up being the only one I spent time playing. The idea for her backstory was basically stolen from Orson Scott Card's book Ender's Shadow, although with a bit of a twist, but the character took on a life of her own.

Then ED and the GDN hit, they changed Rage... and all the joy went out of the gameplay. She was also the first character I ever deleted. I also haven't gone back to those sets since.

Still my favorite character I ever created for anything ever.

Oh, very much so....

My second ever character, a classic SS/Inv Tank I called Burnum. He was made as this Hulk ripoff, but when I started developing the backstory of the character (making him an Australian Aboriginal deity recreated in a human host), it really changed how I came to see the character. Ideally, I would've made him a SS/Inv Brute (for the Rage factor), and maybe I'll still be able to with Going Rogue, who knows?

I started off with him just having a tank top with tattoos, and eventually settled on this grey-skinned behemoth with white 'war paint' (which was just the Tribal pattern). It's surprisingly simple in design and spawned two or three alternate looks as I progressed his story.

I fell in love with the character so much I went and made a custom action figure! You can find pictures of it in a thread I made a little while ago about making them for friends also.

I still love the character (I recently made another more avatar-like look for him) and never get tired of him SuperJumping all over the place.

Have you ever had the experience of falling in love with one of your characters. Of just wanting to play them all the time you're on? Of wanting them to have all the accolades and best stuff, because the character is a little bit of awesome with a chaser of win.

I created a Fire/Shield Scrapper and it all just "clicks". Her backstory is she's from an exiled sect of Efreet who worship the Sun Gods and have rejected the evil and deceit of the Elemental Plane of Fire. She's become a Paladin and come to the "Shining City of the Mortals" to join the fight against evil.

I always liked the character, but after getting FSC and her cape, it all came together. The costume, the feel and pace of play, everything. I just had my main spend 75 million to outfit her with four full sets of Touch of Deaths. AND I LUB HER MOAR!!! She's making my other alts jealous.

Sorry had to share. But I would love to hear if others have had the same experience or am I the only weirdo. (Yes, I'm a weirdo.)

EDIT: Since there were demands for pictures: The Solar Paladin!

Best to view as a slideshow.

Damn good looking character. I am quite fond of my own main. This is only to be expected; if it weren't more fun, at least in certain limited ways to be her than it is to be me, then why would I spend so much of my free time pretending to do so? I would spend that time doing whatever activities in my offline life were more fun.

Not sure Id say love though. Im not one to form terribly strong emotioanla attachments to objects (or people, for that matter). I like her a lot and enjoy playing her, but at the end of teh day she's just another character; if I somehow were unable to ever play her again, I would be sad, but I'd get over it.
