You ever fall in love (with a character)?
Yeah, once I made my Peacebringer, I can't bring myself to play any other character. Every new toon I create ends up being deleted after a few levels and I go back to my PB.

Yes, my Illusion/Kinetics Controller.
Even after 5 years nothing else compares to the feeling I have when playing her. Love her to pieces.

your in love with a 'dopfelganger", "replicant" "Alt" etc...
Just wondering, do you like the image better than the real you?

Many people feel the same way, but won't admit it because of the social pressures to remain humble, at least publicly. I have no problem with accepting and stating how awesome I am. Or where my faults are as well, for that matter. I think it's healthy.

I have 2: My first was a MA/Nin Stalker called 'The Rascal King' (my first character to 50, & before the I12 stalker buff).

Wow!
That should earn you a badge...I deleted every pre-buff stalker I ever tried to play.
[/ QUOTE ]
I fell for my DB/Nin stalker and ran her up to 50 pre-buffs too. I can still remember how hard it was to find PuGs, broadcasting stuff like "23 lolstalker LFT". I'd get a few "lol"s in return but not many invites.
Before my stalker it was a joke Katana/Regen scrapper toon I made - then I discovered how awesome scrappers are. I ran him to 50 but then the affair broke off, he was from blueside and my allegiance was red through and through.
These days I seem to be in between relationships. Oh sure, I've been seeing some people like my Fire/Traps Corr, My Bots/Storm and I even called up one of my exes, that Grav/Thorns Dom. My newest toon, a Bots/Dark, is cute and fun to hang out with too, but I don't see it getting serious...

I've fallen in love with many characters. First there was my MA/Regen Scrapper...I played nothing else throughout i5. Then it was my Sonic/Energy Blaster. Then my DB/SR Scrapper...the first toon that I IOd out as I was levelling her up, all with her own money. Right now, I think I'm in love with my Fire/Storm Corruptor. IOing her out with her own money too, playing nothing but Mission Architect, and loving it.
Of course, most of them get to 50 and never get played again. The DB/SR Scrapper is one purple IO away from finishing her build, has been for months. I'm too lazy to go get it.

Yes, I have just fallen in love with characters before. The real amusing thing, though, is I have a tendency for characters to fall out of favor in the 30s and I just shelf them.
[/ QUOTE ]
Same, I have about 8 or 9 slots on virtue with 30's that I haven't played in forever. They just stall. I go back to them now and then, and do a mission or two, but can't stick with them.
I have characters that just 'click' and I find myself wondering how they got to the late twenties so fast. My second 50, Lady Fade is like that. I still don't like her name all that much, but of all the costumes I've made, and have seen over the last 4 years, hers is still my favourite. Hell, it might even compete with Spider-Man's classic red and blue for my favourite hero costume period.
I have plenty others, but there is no other character of mine that has stayed so, untouched, as Lady Fade. She has four costumes, yet only ever wears the one she started with. She has never had a planned build. I didn't research her powersets (MA/Regen), I just picked what I wanted, and slotted them the way I felt would best help me out.
I still waiting for another character to inspire me like that, but I don't know if I'll find it in this game. That won't keep me from trying though.

Have you ever had the experience of falling in love with one of your characters.

I have a character whose waist/hip ratio is so perfect, after I saw her running thru Atlas for the first time I swore out loud - with my wife in the room - that I'd never give her a travel power that didn't involve running.
I guess that's not quite the same thing.

My PB, then my Crab. With my PB it was a case of seeing others use them and having this mystery about them. When my original main hit 50 I made a PB right away...and was in love. I just was in total enjoyment of all the things I could do. It got so bad that my friends made jokes about me ever getting off that Alt so I could do our group outings. Anyways I'm still in love long past my PB hitting 50. I try to hit other milestones with him, like fully Purpling him out, hitting a million Prestige, getting badges etc. I Alt a lot, but I always come back to the PB, more so then the Tanker that helped me get it.
Then comes my Crab. I'm big into duality and dichotomy. I so badly wanted an evil WS to be a nemesis to my PB that I was quite disappointed to get VEATs instead. But I sucked it up and made a few VEATs, but the one that stole my heart and had me priroritizing things differently was the Crab. It took me only 3 weeks to hit him to 50. I was almost dissapointed that the journey went by so quickly, yet in awe because I had done it with no PLing and couldn't fathom how time and level went by so swiftly. So my Crab is is a bit unorthodox since he his a melee Crab and maybe no optimal but I lie the bugger anyways. Can't wait to finish Purpling him out and enjoying all the little things.
But as for real love, Ghost Widow is mine! How dare folks disparage our torrid and undying romance by claiming elicit affairs with her...
Heh heh

Have you ever had the experience of falling in love with one of your characters. Of just wanting to play them all the time you're on?
[/ QUOTE ]
I have fallen for several. My second character, becoming my first 50, was an energy/energy blaster based on a pnp Champions RPG character that I got to play in two separate campaigns. I have a small folder with pages of details and adventure history for her. When I showed that to the second gamemaster he gave me extra points! My disappointment was that I could not find a face to match the drawn picture I had of her (and tops-with-skin needs another color choice!). Yellow was her favorite color and every costume of hers had yellow somewhere, not counting her blonde hair. I was really disappointed when I found out you cannot change the colors of powers' sfx.
Then came the MA/SR scrapper, an auburn-haired beauty (I prefer blondes, but I'm not blind to other hair colors ). I even made three issues of a comic book (plus one that is a secret love story where it's viewed as the reader, me, is part of the story), although I have yet to finish the second issue (the next scene requires a bit of editting). We have a special restaurant in Founders' Falls where we go when I'm eating at the computer.
A few characters later and now I'm in love again. She has hair of shimmering gold (yes, another blonde), eyes of striking sapphires (young face 2, should see the eyes in the night), and curves that would make a grandprix racer have fits. She's a DB/Willpower scrapper. I even made a page for her on the Virtueverse website. I get lots of good comments about her main costume and description.

Of wanting them to have all the accolades and best stuff, because the character is a little bit of awesome with a chaser of win.
[/ QUOTE ]
I do not care about farming or going out of my way to get the best stuff, but since I do spend a lot of time logged onto the character I'm bound to get all those things eventually. I like having to accomplish goals so accolades and badges are part of that.
I've had a few that I don't play as much as I'd like... but that I'd never give up no matter what happened.
Both of the characters in my signature qualify - I really hate playing Karen by myself, but her personality and attitude (plus the fact she's got a few hundred million sunk into her build) really make it all special. And she's great on a team. Nanao is similar. It's probably because they're both my first (hero and villain) 50's, and currently my only ones.
My Dark/Psi and Claws/Regen on the blueside are just fantastic. One's a rather quiet, contemplative, sarcastic psychologist that's a bit in over her head doing the whole hero thing... and the other's a hyper, dedicated catgirl android almost always out on loan to some organization or another because that's what her boss tells her to do. Two different speeds, two very wonderful characters.
My Bane/Huntswoman is also great. She's a Valley girl that's really a lot smarter then people give her credit for, but kind of doesn't get things that aren't shooting stuff or tactical maneuvers. And she gets lost a lot, and for some reason her Arbiter keeps putting her on 'patrol' duties in out of the way places. Like, you blow up oooone little lab, and suddenly people are all mad and junk! Way uncool, Mr. Arbiter-guy! Surriously~.
Would nots trades any of'em for the world. They, collectively, are my happy place.
EDIT: Also forgot my Mind/Ice Dominator, who's a tribute to B-grade Science Fiction movie villainesses everywhere, complete with ridiculously BS background, a skimpy outfit, and an ego that could fill the entire state of Alaska and complain about being cramped. She's hilarious to play, if just because being a raving, monologuing, maniacal pain-in-the-[censored] is fun every now and then. Very refreshing.

Please share her VirtueVerse page with us, your description has me intrigued.
For me it's about more than being effective. My first villain ever was, for concept reasons, Bots/Dark. Heh. With a clever name and a funny concept. I didn't know Bots/Dark would be one of the power builds V-side.
But he's still sitting around lvl 33, used to pay base rent and set SG permissions, because he didn't hook me. The concept is almost a gag concept, and I think that while the funny ones are clever and make me smile, I don't fall in love with them.
A certain synergy of effectiveness, good looks, good name, intriguing concept, and well-written bio is usually what it takes to hook me. Three or four of them have really taken off and I obsess over them.
I have some whom I like playing very much, but because I couldn't come up with a name I liked, or a costume, or something, just never quite blossomed into romance.

My new main that I'm in love with right now is a Magic Fire/Regen Tanker that was "cursed" from birth to be A) Immortal and B) To have his dreams filled with the pain and suffering of the victims of Dark Magic.
Yes, I stole the basic concept from Chakan, but it's still a pretty cool concept. So instead of falling into despair and becoming bitter and cold, he's trained under Azuria to learn basic magics (the Fire attacks) and continually trains more and more through battle to learn how to destroy these Dark Evils. So "one by one, his nights are getting more peaceful, ever so slowly".
I thought it was pretty cool. He's my avatar right now, and he looks kinda like a pirate mixed with a 90s Compton gangsta mixed with a biker.

Sweltri
It is still under development (I just caught a cold which makes it hard to concentrate *sigh*).
She won a costume contest last weekend, my first character to actually place first. I saw quite a few good costumes, but most did not have a description so that may have helped me, I mean Sweltri win.
Sweltri is indeed a well-designed character. She looks good and certainly deserve the kudos she's gotten.
I love the use of the veil for djinn or djinn-influenced characters. I've done just that with Spydraa. She was cursed by a djinn (or more accurately by a djinn commanded by its master).
Perhaps it was Sweltri?

EDIT: He said "extension", BOIOIOIOIOOING!
My Level 50 PB, Socorro Soledad on Virtue. I don't stay away from her for long. I'll be glad when 'Going Rogue' gets here because she's long since played out all available contact arcs (and she will 'go rogue', if allowed - the Rogue Isles need 'cleansing'). Now I just play other people's missions or Radio or Repeatables, but that's okay because she's that enjoyable. I wish I had longer periods of playtime so I could have her complete every TF... Oh well, maybe someday...
I've got all non-TF related Accolades for her, and I'm purpling her out now, which is sorta grindy, but not really, since I almost never do farms. Just normal missions and watch the drops.
From the beginning she's been a dark-haired hispanic female, but I've changed 'color schemes' every couple months, with all 5 costumes basically have the same colors, even if they're radically different.

I do have a Elec/DA Stalker that I made back in May of 2008 who I played for a week and shelved at level 7 for a year. Then last anniversary I brought her out and played her exclusively for a month to level 37.
