I think BAB has learned why I dread him posting in the Justice forum and bringing in the unwashed masses. I'm thinking that may be the reasoning behind keeping it off these forums and with such limited access.

After all, we've all seen what has happened in Jay's Costume Suggestion thread. We don't need a repeat of that on ANY subject on these forums.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

My favorite emote ever in a MUD was the equivalent of /em_fishsmack

Producing a fish from nowhere and smackin' someone with it is a great image.

Possibly because they're buried within ten tons of craptacular ideas that are either not possible or so horrible that only one person out of a million would actually wear it?

I like the idea of "/em throwmoney" transferring inf to nearby players, and causing confusion to enemies.

This makes me think about the idea of more emotes having actual effects.

/em whistle - a form of taunt?
/em surrender - an effect like Placate? You fool them into not attacking anymore?

I could understand the devs not wanting to have emotes granting actual powers. But how about having NPCs respond or react to them? This would not create any particular advantage to the player - it would just be fun!

/em boombox or any of the "dance" emotes - NPCs should dance with you!
/em wave - NPCs should wave back
/em wavefist - enemies could just wave their fist back at you, or NPCs could run in fear

Other thoughts?

Because you're a Cuppa Incarnate with 20,000+ posts and probably spend way more time here than you should?

In any case, I don't know if I'm "embittered" and I don't think I have a habit of making "embittered" posts save on a very few issues. I know the cat was trying to make a joke but I read it as a joke at the expense of the player base. As it has been awhile since I've been really jazzed by any of their additions to the game, I stand by my statement.

It also deserves mentioning that I don't have anything personal against any of the Devs. I don't think that I know them and I don't really care to know them. When they do something "good," I don't really experience gratitude because I pay for the game and their doing "good" is my minimal expectation. Since it is mostly my friends and SG that have kept me playing for the past couple years, I have some doubts that they are meeting my minimal expectations as a customer.

Bagging on the idea that worthy suggestions could come from the player base - even with one's tongue firmly in-cheek - is not my idea of them doing good. As a customer, it grinds my gears.

EDIT: Despite the way you said it, some who don't at all like the MA would very much agree. Though we need to keep in mind not every new addition to an mmo is catering to everyone. The audiences of mmos have such different tastes that "one update to please/rule them all" is impossible.

Player tosses a small target in the air and uses thier ranged weapon (AR Bots etc) or T1 blast to shoot it.

/em spar
(melee ATs)

A small akido dummy appears and the player spars with it.

/em fishstory

Player starts motioning like he/she/it is explaining something then holds arms at maximum width to show how big the fish was that got away.

/em revv

The user goes into a faux squat position (like riding a motorcycle) twists the right wrist (throttle). Optional motorcycle engine revving sound.

/em badger

The player pulls out a small glass case with all thier shiny badges in it showing it off to everyone, then accidently drops it, causing it to shatter. The player drops to thier knees sobbing.

/em calledshot

The player points to left field (20 deg left of current facing), pulls out an invisble (or visable) bat and swings away. Player then enters the cheer emote animation.
