  1. Thanks for the compliments all!

Torrent_Wave, you're spot on. The chest emblem -was- embossed. I cheated a little and manipulated the layer that contained the emblem to try to give it some contour, as it was just too small (even on 500%) to get any good shading done on it by hand. I wasn't particularly happy with it either, but it was closer to what I wanted with the embossing than without - so I left it.

In my head, that tribal chest emblem is a metal clasp used to hold the costume together (because I needed some justification for why the Assassin top defied gravity), so I'm glad that came across to someone else as well.
  2. Glad you like it - and I'll think about that thread thing. Really.

As for the tip of her pinky finger, in my head it was tucked under and lost in the shadow there, but now that I look at it again you're right. I should've made that angle a bit differently to be clear - it isn't quite right, and somehow I'd just missed it in the final check.

    Thanks for the catch!
  3. I contemplate a whole thread now and then, but I put up new work so infrequently that it feels like horrible necroposting.

(and that's assuming that the threads even still exist)

Thanks for the suggestion and the compliment, though!
  4. Yeah, I know, I'm still mostly on vacation from the game. But I am still doing art! (albeit rather slowly with summer and all...)

    So here we go:

Innamorata, of the Circle of Midnight.

(Yes, I know that the name appears to be improperly spelled. I borrowed from the Italian, due to the character concept.)

*runs back off to more vacation, contemplating the next character for the lineup*

Thank you very much, and yes, everything in my DA is my work.
  6. Yeah, I know, I'm slack about posting. I don't care.

    New art!

    Hologram Rose

    (and from a bit ago)

    Soundboard & Virtuous Steel

    *sneaks off again*
  7. Oooh.

I'm not sure exactly what that is or entails, but... *eagerly accepts*!
  8. *laugh* Good luck with that. With my altitis (and 34 characters to choose from) catching me in any one spot takes some luck. But I'll keep an eye out!
  9. So!

*resurrects old thread to avoid clogging forums*

Another round of Characters in their SG Uniforms is complete:

Wolfwhisper, level 50 Plant/TA controller, Virtue server.

    Enjoy!
  10. Thanks for the kind words, everyone! *makes note to lurk less, really*

...and no, that's not a vector drawing.
  11. Apparently, I'm undertaking some bizarre desire to do all my character in their variations of the SG uniform. Whether this is brilliant or crazy has yet to be seen.

    Newest is up!

Sayaka Kiirnodel, BS/Elec scrapper, Virtue server.

    *runs back to lurk more*
  12. Oh, I've been around. These new forums just make me squirrelly about actually logging in. I'm here though, reading...just not posting so often
  13. Bored, bored, bored. Finally got off my duff and whittled together a sketch yesterday and decided to color it for giggles.

    Panda, the Ghost of Hope

    *goes back to lurking*

  14. I'm not sure exactly where to start.

    1. Using the game login password as a forum login password is not safe. Please do something to allow those of us that care about the security of our game accounts to change our forum passwords to something other than our game account password.

This is a big problem. A big, big, BIG problem. Previously, forum passwords and game passwords were distinct, and could be changed if desired. Please bring that option back. I don't want to have to completely avoid the forums in order to maintain the security of my game account.

    2. Avatar auto-scaling. As shiny and new as these forums are, they can't accept the avatar at its actual size up to 100x100 without jacking it up to 100x100? Seriously?

    3. Nit-pick: The monochromatic scheme is dull, and makes it difficult to pick out one post from the next. In addition, the vast amount of wasted space seriously limits the number of posts I can read at one time. Hoping to find a way around that.

3a. These look JUST like the Aion forums, with a different color scheme, and those stink in terms of ease of reading/posting also.

(Edit) 4. Please, for the love of god, kill the images in signatures before reading each page turns into a swamp of graphics surrounding two lines of meaningful text.
  15. Ugh. I had been hoping I was seeing things and that it -wasn't- my avatar scaling up that I saw in the settings window.
  16. Only 57? What a bunch of slackers. We can do better than that!

  17. Panda's energy pompoms will probably go to a nice blue, to match her blasts.

I might move a Rad/Rad corruptor to a Rad/Energy blaster, with suitably radiation-colored energy pompoms. Maybe.

    Beyond that, probably no one.

Someone posted in another thread that they think the problem is that the Oil Slick is targeting a foe and when you target the Oil Slick to hit it, it's acting like assisted targeting through a teammate and you're really attacking the target that the Oil Slick is targeting.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This would make sense also. I noticed in the combat log that when I had the Slick targeted and tried to light it with my Apprentice Charm, I was hitting one of the mobs instead.

I am curious about the poster that said the mobs managed to light their Slick with a rain? The mobs I was fighting failed to light my Slick with their AoEs, but that might've just been the Oil Slick being fickle like it always has been.
  19. Oil Slick Arrow is bugged in MA missions, producing an untargetable, blue-reticled "pet". Thus, the Oil Slick cannot be targeted with attacks that would normally light it, nor does it take incidental damage from AoE attacks that would normally light it.

Outside of the MA, Oil Slick Arrow is working as it always has, producing an orange-reticled "pet" that can be targeted and hit by AoE attacks as normal.

*Tested with a level 43 Plant/TA through an MA arc that Oil Slick Arrow worked perfectly in the day before i15. 100% failure rate inside the MA. 100% success rate outside the MA.

Didn't find answer using my serch-fu, so anyone know why slick won't light up anymore?

    [/ QUOTE ]

There were no TA changes, or pet changes which would affect OSA, and I just roasted 8 Death Mages. What you experienced is typical OSA bug-out behavior. It happens.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't believe this is typical behaviour. I just experienced it myself, and I have two questions for the OP: Were you in an MA mission when the Oil Slick failed to light? Did it just not light, or were you unable to attack it to -get- it to light?

I cannot drop an oil slick in an MA mission and light it at all. Not because it fails to light, but because I can no longer target it with -anything-. Blue reticle and everything, 100% of the time.

Leaving the mission and dropping the Oil Slick out in the regular game produced a normal Oil Slick that I was capable of lighting 100% of the time.

There are 4 things at stake here:
    1. Performing an animation. ;yatayata
    2. Describing an animation since there is no actual animation for it, such as <<I roll my eyes.>>
    3. A thought balloon which reveals a toon's thought. **What am I getting into?**
    4. Actual 'spoken' dialogue said aloud. "Your offer sounds too good to be true."

    -- snip --

    [/ QUOTE ]

The issue I see with numbers 2 and 3 here is the chat window. As far as the chat window is concerned, text emotes are in the third person, so if I type:

    /e waves to Zombie Man

    the chat window shows:

    Alissara waves to Zombie Man

while the bubble itself just holds the text "waves to Zombie Man".

Subject to the standard code rant, it may be possible to put both of these into a floating bubble. But in these two cases, what would you propose putting in the chat window?

    -- Edit --

This is not meant to be a showstopper for this. I think it's a great idea, however we need to come up with some solution to this problem if this is going to have a prayer.

So let's put our collective thinking caps on.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The bolded above has always bugged me. Now, I play with chat bubbles off, and always have - but I like to emote. I like to include actions and speech together in emotes, so that it appears more like a story in the chat window than just a bunch of local chats.

But to do so, I look like an imbecile to people with chat bubbles on, because I have all these "thought bubbles" that aren't really thoughts, and they appear as incomplete sentences (because the syntax is written for my name to appear at the beginning, which it doesn't in the bubble), etc, etc.

Of course, proposing multiple bubbles isn't a bad thing, but why couldn't we just do away with the "thought trail" tailing bubbles, and have the text in the bubble include the character's name, just like the chat window syntax?

Alternatively, just include the character's name in the bubble, please, so the bubble text matches the chat window text? *grovel*

That's not as critical as the "string of random characters when you start to type something

    [/ QUOTE ]

    It's not a random string.

Pay attention to them, and realize what keys you use to move/execute powers

    [/ QUOTE ]

Or (at least most often for me) what the last few values you entered as bids at the market were.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's my point. The characters that show up are keys you have recently pressed. I've even had :

    llo!HowsitgoingRoI'm LFT right now

happen - my previous line of chat

    [/ QUOTE ]

I've had that happen. What freaks me out more is that I've had it happen while entering my password to login. I'm paranoid that I'll end up somehow accidentally broadcasting my login password to the game via this bug.

Can we get it moved up a little bit if it's classified as a security risk?

(because seriously, it is one if it has a chance of pulling passwords and logins and "storing" them for later)

    Ghost Falcon:

I'm going to suggest you put all chat-related bugs into the *critical* category.

    Why?

Because chat-related bugs are the single most visble category of bugs in the game. EVERYONE sees them. EVERYONE deals with them.

Seeing your most basic social interface bugged, in an established MMORPG, presents a very unpolished and unprofessional product.

I strongly urge you to put all reported chat interface bugs on the "critical - do not release until fixed" list.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Agreed.

In five years of play, I cannot think of a single other bug that was near as frustrating and depressing as the chat bug. Between the near-constant irritation of the carried-over characters to the sinking feeling that accompanies realizing that I cannot update a bio to reflect finally reaching an RP milestone that took years to get to, or being unable to write a new bio at all without having it look like unreadable garbage (which basically means not writing one, if you're one of those people that were raised to not do something at all if you couldn't do your best/do it right)...

    *grumbles*

The chat bug affects everyone that plays the game. Doesn't that make it far more important than a bug that only 0.5% of the playerbase will ever stumble across?
  24. I hate to say it, but it might be nice if they expanded that to not only include inactive accounts, but also inactive characters (with a significantly higher time limit, of course).

There's bound to be many of us (myself included) that have lost and forgotten characters on random servers that we haven't touched in years, even though our accounts have never gone inactive for an excess of 90 days.

(Or, you know, that one name I keep trying to get back that hasn't been logged in since before globals went in, but is apparently protected by the 90-day account limit.. *grump*)
