*wades in, drops off new art*

Yeah, I know, I'm still mostly on vacation from the game. But I am still doing art! (albeit rather slowly with summer and all...)

So here we go:

Innamorata, of the Circle of Midnight.

(Yes, I know that the name appears to be improperly spelled. I borrowed from the Italian, due to the character concept.)

*runs back off to more vacation, contemplating the next character for the lineup*

Innamorata turned out just lovely, Vixen. May I suggest that you start a gallery thread for your recent and up and coming artz like some of us have done for ourselves. Would be nice to see you with your own art thread.

Oh, and by the way, I love the colors you used for Innamorata!

I contemplate a whole thread now and then, but I put up new work so infrequently that it feels like horrible necroposting.

(and that's assuming that the threads even still exist)

Thanks for the suggestion and the compliment, though!

Oh very nice. I love the colors here and the fade out on her cape... also the flagrant use of orange is a plus.

Only thing I would mention is her right hand is missing the distal phalanx (digit at the very tip) of her pinky...
it should be visible tucked up under her middle phalanx in that position.

Very nicely done overall and you did great with the chest emblem and cape clasp... they are instantly recognizable.
I'm voting you start a thread too... worse case you will just have to pop in more often to avoid the necro.

Glad you like it - and I'll think about that thread thing. Really.

As for the tip of her pinky finger, in my head it was tucked under and lost in the shadow there, but now that I look at it again you're right. I should've made that angle a bit differently to be clear - it isn't quite right, and somehow I'd just missed it in the final check.

Thanks for the catch!

That's a great picture, and the background gradient is perfect.

Not sure if my graphics card could handle that bubblegum inferno, but the moment the screen seizes up will still look spectacular.

Just finished favoriting the work over at DA, and hoping there's more to come.

I really have to compliment you on the colors and style on this. It has this vector feel that makes it look like she should be in magazines or on billboards. Very fitting for good looking hero-types such as herself

I'm no artist so I never feel right giving out criticism, but I have been told it's appreciated so here goes... The chest emblem feels a little fake to me. It doesn't have the same smoothness as the rest of the image, like it's been embossed and laid over it. I love the idea of it almost acting as though holding the top of her costume together, and it's very cool to see the chest emblems (perhaps the hardest part of a costume to integrate correctly) in such a different way. It might be just me though, if so ignore my petty comment!

Overall I really like it and encourage much more You have a wonderful style and a very cool way of showing off costumes. I love the colors in this, so don't worry about blinding the audience If it works go with it, and I know it'll come out just right in the end.

Thanks for the compliments all!

Torrent_Wave, you're spot on. The chest emblem -was- embossed. I cheated a little and manipulated the layer that contained the emblem to try to give it some contour, as it was just too small (even on 500%) to get any good shading done on it by hand. I wasn't particularly happy with it either, but it was closer to what I wanted with the embossing than without - so I left it.

In my head, that tribal chest emblem is a metal clasp used to hold the costume together (because I needed some justification for why the Assassin top defied gravity), so I'm glad that came across to someone else as well.

Heh, the Assassin pattern defies gravity for the same reason that some of the others can even stay on a moving body despite lack of support: Cause of Superpowers! Everyone knows when you become a female superhero you instantly become three times as attractive and your clothing bends the laws of physics to its will.
