I think Serafina must be relater to Azuria. Either that, or magic makes people dumb in CoHworld.

You know, come to think of it, there's a Newspaper mission where a villain has to retrieve a horror novelist from a magically-powered group that thinks his works of fiction are based on fact. And then there's a Police Radio mission where a hero goes to rescue the owner of a shop that carries old tomes and other weird things from a magically-oriented villain group, only to find that he's been freaking out his captors by babbling vague things about unseen horrors and cosmic geometry(which is particularly odd if it's the Circle of Thorns who kidnapped him).

That first one I think is supposed to be an homage to Stephen King, and that second one to H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos.

Is there a Praetorian/Cimeroan version of Lord Recluse?
[/ QUOTE ]
And is he a good guy?
Rommy is Recluse, the pratorian version Maticore said was like, on hold for talking I believe.
I'm willing to bet they made one, though it would make sense that Marcus just killed him prior to taking the power all for himself. Though, they didn't feel the effects immediately if I recall so it would make sense that they drifted apart.

Bizarro Recluse options: Agitator, Detractor, Extrovert, Firebrand, Herald, Inquisitor, Instigator, Provocateur, Revolutionary, Watchman, or Witness.
Same-idea-but-ruthless options: Ascetic, Cenobite, Eremite, or Solitary. I like that last one, might use it.

If you want just the opposite of the name, and ignoring any theme, then the opposite of a recluse would be a socialite. If we go with the insect theme and the meaning, then we could say that the opposite would be a "social butterfly" and then just call him Monarch. I know, Venture Brothers already has "The Monarch" and it makes it sound silly, but it could work. And some other butterfly names could work for some of the underlings; the Widows could be Painted Ladies, and Crabs could get a makeover and be Swordtails. I'm sure there's other names that could work too, but I'm not going to come up with them all.

*grins* I suppose it's not without reason that when I released my "History in the Making" video, BAB's comment to me was, "Damn, you know more about this game's history than I do."
Then again, considering I have no idea how much he knows about the game's history, that might not be all that impressive... if MANTICORE had said that, I would have been flying high.

Question: Do Rikti have "families" in the same sense that humans do?
Answer: Although many Rikti customs are based on their human ancestry, few of them exactly mirror our own due to their radically different path. However the Rikti definitely have concepts of love, friendship, and family even if they arent exactly the same as ours.

So... a converted Lost member might think of the ones who converted them as "parental units," uncles/aunts, elders, or somesuch? A "born" Rikti versus convert... suddenly I hear vampire rpers screaming in joy...
Hrm. Okay, telepaths. Do they all "broadcast" on the same "frequency?" IE, the Traditionalists, can they hear the other's sides thoughts? Or, can communities split according to who can hear whom?
If the latter, are the "families" based on who they can "hear" and officers picked because they can "talk" to several layers of communities?

My Question is. How do Bases work, story wise? Where are they located? How are they provided? How do the items get into the base etc? Is it completely up to the Hero how their bases work, does the city have some sort of crazy underground network of bases they provide? How do the base tele-porters work within the system?

There's one part of the CoV lore that's been bugging me for some time. The question is in a couple parts, so bear with me:
1) Is Lord Recluse recognized by the U.N. as the legitimate ruler of the Rogue Isles?
2) If so, why hasn't he gone to the U.N. to petition for sanctions to get Longbow out of his country?
I mean, here we have what is basically one person (Miss Liberty) who has sent her private army into a sovereign nation. They have set up bases and are constantly attacking citizens and the official military of that country.
I understand that every fictional setting requires some suspension of disbelief, but Longbow stretches that well beyond the breaking point IMHO.

This is mostly just out of personal curiosity, though there may be others who would like to know...
The Coralax. According to lore, they come from a city in the Atlantic, built upon the goddess Merulina who created them. What is the name of the city? Also, the Shapers are clearly of great importance in Coralax culture, directly created by Merulina. So are the Shapers today the same people from anchient times? Any further details on the Coralax would be interesting, they are an extremely cool faction with alot of potential.
And aside from story questions: Will we ever see the Coralax city? Will we ever see the Virtea?

I have a question regarding the Rikti.
It is a known fact that the Rikti apparently have lost the ability (or choose not) to sexually reproduce and as such reproduce in an entirely artificial fashion. Despite this, there are still apparently genders, as evidenced by C'Kelkah and General Bu'Dekka, both females, and numerous other Rikti identified as males. However, atleast in our eyes, all Rikti appear to look alike. So my question is this:
Are there any notable physical differences between male and female Rikti?
It is a known fact that the Rikti apparently have lost the ability (or choose not) to sexually reproduce and as such reproduce in an entirely artificial fashion.
Bwha? Where does that come from? What I get from B'Nadek and Dark Watcher's material is that the mutation process begins in utero and is continued after birth. I don't see anything that conclusively states Rikit use artificial reproduction....

Hmm, good point. However, there are also no statements that conclusively state that they reproduce in a natural fashion. Hopefully, both my main question, and this little side question, will both be answered.

I think that the places where people get this idea would be the Timothy Raymond arc, where you steal (And later destroy) a number of Rikti embryos that were fertilized by Timothy's DNA, and the point where B'Nadek mentions an "exo-womb" when you talk to him.
I guess it's a little unclear, though, since the previously mentioned embryos may not be the regular way the Rikti reproduce (Since they may have only been made in that way to better utilize Timothy's DNA) and the "exo-womb" may refer to something only the adult converts go through. It seems like a weird question to ask but it might be good if Manti confirmed which of those ideas is correct.
Also, yay, another of my questions was answered!

The term "exo-womb" is what makes me believe it's artificial. The way it is stated suggests that it is something resembling a cloning vat or an artificial birthing chamber.
Shadow Shard. Let's go there.
It was once Paragon City, judging from some of the dialogue in Sara Moore's TF. They have legends about Nemesis...was the dimension much like ours before Rularuu broke it?
If that dimension was like ours, where do the Soldiers of Rularuu come from? Are they modified natives, or imports from some other dimension?
What about the Reflections? Are they corporeal, or basically "ghosts"?

I've got a buncha questions about Shivans. They're apparently human skeletons from graveyards that have been animated by alien goo. They're affected by the Ghost Slaying Axe, which points to them being undead. But are they really undead, or is the goo itself necromantic in nature? When you talk about a Shivan, are you talking about the goo or the skeleton? If you remove the goo from a Shivan leaving only the skeleton, would the skeleton still be animated or would it be just a normal skeleton? And those spikes and claws the Shivans display, are those new growths on the skeleton, it having been actually reanimated, or are they other environmental debris that's been incorporated into the Shivan form? Are the skeletons, in fact, only used to give the Shivan goo structure so that it can walk and move? I guess my real question is, does the goo actually cause the skeletons to take on some sort of unlife, or is it the goo itself the undead lifeform and the skeleton merely an actual endoskeleton for its "body"?
Also, if you put Shivan goo on a cow skeleton, would it make a cow-shaped Shivan?
Issue 16 made me feel like this.

This one's been bugging me for a while...
Is there a Geneva Convention in CoH World? I ask because of one glaring item that has bothered me since I've dealt with it...
Flamethrowers.
Flamethrowers are illegal under the Geneva Convention. It doesn't bother me when, say, the Council or the Sky Raiders are using them. It's what they do, they're bad guys.
However... When Longbow, a law-abiding and law-enforcing entity, starts using them, it sets my teeth on edge.
If there isn't a Geneva Convention in CoH-world, possibly due to the fact that super-powered beings who can spit fire breath are an almost regular occurrence, then I suppose I could live more easily with this issue. However, if there is one, then why wouldn't flamethrowers be included under the "no cruel weapons" portion? If they ARE, then why is Longbow using flamethrowers is they're supposed to follow and uphold the law?
It's irksome. It gives the Villains/Rogues ground to stand on when they justify themselves that the Heroes/"Vigilantes" are two-faced sycophants.
[/ QUOTE ]
Okay first a quick descent into geekdom: the Geneva Conventions don't have anything to do with what weapons you can use - they cover the treatment of prisoners and the wounded. Its the Hague Conventions which lay out what weapons you can or can't use and how.
Now then, the basic answer to your question would be that these military conventions don't apply. Longbow is a police agency not a military force, it operates under a different set of rules. Police may freely use shotguns and tear gas, while soldiers cannot as a general rule.
As with anything discussion of a legal topic, sweeping generalizations have been made to protect the reader's sanity.

Wait, what are Ghost Falcons' powers and back story!? o.o!
[/ QUOTE ]
His story is already in game:
[ QUOTE ]
Ghost Falcon hails from an alternate dimension, one where people and things are dramatically different than they are in this world. At one point in his past he attacked the Crey facilities of that world, and was captured. Crey scientists there severed the mental link he had to the rest of his team and deprogrammed him as part of their 'Project: Redemption'. Ghost Falcon has come to this world after a portal was recently opened between the two universes. His motives here are still unknown.

Essentially, he's the Praetorian version of the Invisible Falcon from the Revenant Hero Project.
