last year around this time of year when the weather got better, i decided i would play on my balcony, so i wouldn't have to take the occasional smoke break (my usual reason for AFK, but usually in between mish's). well, i wasn't paying attention and the ash on my smoke got really long, PLOP, right in my lap, which i didn't notice until my shorts were on fire.........
i had to go AFK for flaming groin

Sudden monitor death
The building's fire alarm going off. At 3 AM. In January. I was in shorts and nothing else. I was not happy standing outside waiting for the fire department.

I think I was soloing the night it would have been "Gotta go! Armed police officers and a K9 dog charging through the back yard."
Especially since shots had been fired down the block about 10 minutes earlier.
Not to mention my 15 pound mutt deciding he needed to go ape about the 100 pound police German Shepherd running around in HIS yard. I told him "Buzz, you are picking a fight out of your weight class," which one officer, even in the tense situation, thought was funnier'n heck.

in my old neighborhood, I went /afk Gunshots on my street about a half dozen times.

We've all had to go AFK for wired and strange reason. So for fun, list the strangest reason you had to go AFK. Or the Strangest reasons you were given. I don't have many, but i'll start.
1. My 4 foot cornsnake was set lose by my cat, and was terrorzing the house.
2. The computer table broke... and I had to save meh PC.
3. The dogs got into a fight and the Chiuchiua lost and needs patching up... AGAIN. (you'd think he'd learn...) (He's OK, never really been hurt, just rattled. For the concerned pet owners out there.)
4. Had to save someone for grasshopper... (I live in a house of feardy cats i tell you...)
5. Had to pull a 3 or 4 foot wild ratsnake out of a friends house. (next door. The wife didn't want to kill it but the husband wouldn't try and catch it... so they called me, because, i am the freak with snakes so...)
6. The new puppy bulldog, (the one that smacks the Chiuchiua around) demands you pay attation to him, or else your toes will suffer for it! And boy did they...
7. Had to stop the bulldog from distroying the treadmill...
8. Had to stop the bulldog from ripping down the curtens...
9. Had to stop the bulldog from eating the cat... or killing the chiuchiua... AGAIN...
10. Had to stop the bulldog from devoring ANOTHER computer chair... (his second or 3rd...)
11. Had to stop the bulldog from ripping siding off the house.. AGAIN.
11b. had to fix the siding... and erect a baracade...
12. Had to "come get this stupid mut!!!" after the bulldog has worn out his welcome with the other famiy memebers and won't leave them alone...
(my bulldogs name is Bruce BTW. he's almsot a year old... I though they were supposted to be kind of lazy... boy was i lied too...)
