I went afk one night at my work (hotel night audit) because I was getting robbed.

Neighbor's unleashed jerkface dog attacked the other neighbor's kid. Keep in mind that I love animals, but after calling the police and ambulance, the dog kept circling around the kid and his father (who was trying to stay between the dog and his son). Was REALLY close to going out and shooting the dog (grabbed a baseball bat instead of the gun). Basically, these neighbors would let their not-so-friendly dog roam the neighborhood and it frequently wandered into MY yard growling and barking at me.

(Police arrested the neighbor and took the dog due to this incident. Neighbors moved not too long after and I'm glad that mutt is gone.)

Strangest reason I've ever heard:

'afk for a second, my ferret is having a sneezing fit.'

Been there. We thought she was going to sneeze herself to death. She was rooting around under something and inhaled a big ol dust bunny. She was sneezing herself across the floor and nearly having a seizure from it. It was actually pretty scary.

Aside from the usual mundane stuff that drags me away (grocery deliveries, bathroom breaks, projectile cat yack, yada yada), these are the freakiest ones that scared the hell out of me (and I made them all):

/afk gunshots outside
/afk mom's blood sugar > 400 [she's diabetic]
/afk cat seizure [literally]
