this game should lower its monthly fee to $9.99

Try a yearly subscription instead. I pay approximately 11 dollars a month.

A few years ago shortly before one of the local COMPUSA stores went out of business they were dumping a lot of their merchandise. I got around a year and a half worth of time cards for just under $40.

Jay and I were actually paid by Taco Bell to eat one day. They were doing some marketing research on a new product and gave us some "taco bell bucks" for sampling it and filling out a little form.

[/ QUOTE ]

Did it taste like everything else there? The only real choice at Taco Bell is Soft or Crunchy.

[/ QUOTE ]
And when they do come out with something that tastes different they jack the price up/ The volcano taco is 1.19 here, regular taco is 89 cents. volcano double beef burrito is 2.99, regular double beef burrito is 99 cents. 2 bucks for volcano sauce and those red crispy strips is retarded.

I admit I have a bit of a taco bell addiction.

Some suggestions:

2.For every year you have subscribed your account gets a token that you can redeem at any time to get half off your next month price.

4. One of the Dev's gets married to Bill Gates and as a wedding gift to us all, bill pays for every current subscribers accounts for 5 years!

Never ever do that again, man. You might not make it out alive next time, and losing the two of you would spell the end of this game.

Going rogue. Gotta' pay...probably around the same price as this game goes for retail. Remember the days when the devs said there would -NEVER- be a paid for expansion? Gone like the pvp community. As for fresh and exciting...well more like a decent pass time, sure there's always going to be a few die hards that just can't get enough. Some of us need more than a farm tool that gets you banned or going back in time to play missions you've already played.

Actually, this is almost sig-worthy, and I'm a fan of this game. He has good points in that block of text.

I'm not sure how many people have been joining this game, but I can't see it being too high of numbers. CoX is a ghost town compared to what it used to be, so any penny counts. I.E. Costume packs.

[/ QUOTE ]

The game has always hovered around 150 000 people. Last I heard, we may have been a little below that. It has never been much over 180 000 people, and that was at launch. What HAS changed, however, is that few people loiter under the statue of Atlas, which is a change for the better.

this game should lower its monthly fee to $9.99 instead of 14.99 imo. its getting old. its 5yrs old now. any game this old should not be going for 14.99/month still. if the rate wasn't so high i would keep my subscription going for a longer time. since its so high i will only subscribe for one more month before quiting.

all this fuss over an extra 16.6 cents per day?

No, it shouldnt. We get FREE updates to the game. With the exception of the occasional expansion. You think they're getting free updates over on WoW?

As far as you saying your going to pay for one more month then leave. If money is getting tight and times are hard. Then if you have to take a short break then so be it. It happens to the best of us (me included several months ago) But lowering the price would give them less month to put into the R&D for our new issues and the money to pay the people who design it all.

[/ QUOTE ]

Bad example. They give free updates in WoW. The most recent was a pretty major new end-game raid, new PvP games, new non-combat content and a major re-tuning of several classes.

Pretty much every MMO that relies on expansions to generate income is one that also hands out plenty of free expansion content as well. CoX is the exception primarily for the lack of paid expansions rather than for the quantity of free expansions.

This is a two-edged sword, given that a paid-expansion is generally much larger by virtue of it costing money. Case in point, CoV - A whole other city, where a free Issue is typically a new game system or a single new zone.

With Praetoria, we pay for it but we get BOTH a whole new city AND new game systems. If it was a free Issue, Praetoria would be a single Portal mission whose only reason for existence would be to act as a lobby for the "going rogue" mission contacts.

Pay expansions aren't evil just by virtue of costing you extra money.

As for the OP, you'd need to come up with a better argument for lowering the monthly fee than "it's old". MMO's don't wear out and break down just because they've hit 100k miles on the odometer.

What we really need is for NCSoft to offer an aggregate account like the SOE Station Access acount. I'd have paid $25 a month to have an account that gave me Auto Assault, Tabula Rasa, CoH, Dungeon Runners Premium, and Lineage/Lineage 2.

Ummm. . . No.

I havent even gotten much game time in the last couple months since work for me has been busy (thank god that I am still employed). I maybe get a couple hours a week tops. Those same 2 hours at a movie. . . hmmm, around here evening movies are going at $11 per person, throw in some popcorn and a soda and that's a whopping $25!

$15 if you pay by the month. . .
$10-$12 if you pay yearly plus promos. . .

Good game, great price, cheap entertainment.

Okay, so, I see a lot of people saying "Lower the price! It's too high!" and a lot of other people saying "It's fine where it is!" so how about this.

If NC decides I have to pay less money all of a sudden-- hey man, I'm pretty cool with that! But I mean, I'm not going to just up and quit because it's $15 a month. I mean, c'mon now. That's pretty standard fare.

You are not being 100% truthful there, in fact far closer to zero.

As far as I can recall no Dev has ever stated that.

In fact just after CoV there were active plans for another paid expansion, which got pulled, mainly due to the downsizing of the Dev team.

No.
Citation needed.
There is a world of difference between saying you would like to avoid doing something and swearing on your mother's grave that you will never do it. Many people tend to remember the former as the latter and throw a fit when it comes about. i personally can't recall a Dev ever actuallly saying that, but i don't have eidetic memory. Obviously your memory is either better or more malleable than mine. Either way i need more than a "Remember when...?" before i'll take your word for it.

Also, if you can only see MA as a farming tool it suggests to me that your vision and imagination are not as broad as they could be. i've found many fun and well-written arcs in the MA.

You've been to Baja Fresh? You can answer a question that has bugged me for years.

A little back story, I worked at a comapny that made the wraps that your food is wrapped in at fast places. Over the 11 years I worked there I saw sheets for places I have never heard of, most were cool, some were stupid looking. One that always bugged me was the Baja Fresh sheet. The smallest we ever ran before Baja fresh was the 10 inch by 12 inch wraps for Wendy's. Baja though, was only 6x6. We could never figure out what the hell they used a 6x6 wrap for.

So, if you know, what do they wrap in a 6x6 piece of wax paper?

Maybe they were busy during the great Mexican Food/Enhancement Store debacle. They were wrapping enhancements.

It's been ... roughly 3 1/2 years since I've eaten at one, unfortunately. I'm *reasonably* sure that sounds like a container for their chips or liner for them or some such.
