CDs? Well, unless you download them illegally, generally speaking a nice shiny cd is going to cost you at least 15$ if not more.

[/ QUOTE ] Your overall point is correct, but I just wanted to state that you can buy a majority of CDs for under fifteen dollars.

[/ QUOTE ]

Really? I guess Fry's is overcharging then. Or, maybe, I'm just not looking at the right disks? Dunno, but I can't afford them in either case, unless I'm on a splurge for music. (... or maybe, much of the techno I buy is *imported*... feh)

[/ QUOTE ] Best Buy is usually a good place to go, especially for new releases(DVDs are good there too). Now I haven't bought a CD in a while so things could have changed. Music industry could have done what newspapers did, raise prices when sales go down.

Wal-mart has decent prices, but the stores around me have horrible selecetion.

this game should lower its monthly fee to $9.99 instead of 14.99 imo. its getting old. its 5yrs old now. any game this old should not be going for 14.99/month still. if the rate wasn't so high i would keep my subscription going for a longer time. since its so high i will only subscribe for one more month before quiting.

I'm not sure which is worse ... The Op's suggestion, or people not agreeing with cheaper prices. I shop at WalMart cause it's cheap. If everything there was $5 more expensive for WalMart improvements, would you still shop there?

... Walmart's "improvements" would have to come at a huge change to their entire management and hiring/promotion strategy. There's one across the street from me. I have set foot in it 3 times, and none of those times did they have what I wanted at a better price than the target up the street. And no, none of those times did I *buy* anything there. It makes me feel dirty.

Now, to be fair, when I went on vacation several years ago to Baton Rouge, the walmart there was *very* nice, largely I think because they weren't trying to undercut every other store in the area (... very likely because they'd already all gone out of business).

It might have been a QR. I'll be honest tho, If I had to choose between the OP's lewt and yours, I'll take yours every day of the week.

1. You have more.

2. I'd keep your lewt in storage for sentimental reasons cuz I'd miss you.

Awwwww!

You can have SOME of my lewt, if you can get the cat fur off of it. And trust me, that would NOT be an easy task.

I've seen pics of your cats you posted. There's prolly enough fur to make another 3-4 kittehs.

And I'd happily share my cheeseburgers with them.

No definitely not you. I was using ArcticWhiner as a pun for ArcticWail.

Try a yearly subscription instead. I pay approximately 11 dollars a month.

This game is well worth the money and we don't want to start sending signals that we're on the decline. Quite the opposite in fact.

You don't shop around much do you? I buy very few things at wal-mart. It has nothing to do with wal-marts supposed business practices, I can just get a lot of things cheaper at other stores. I know people who only buy groceries at walmart. Only groceries I buy at walmart is my lipton tea and whenever I need something quick to finish a meal. Everything else can be found cheaper elsewhere. Don't even get me started on Wal-Mart's meat department.

There are Wal-Marts that have meat departments? Why does the very idea of that make me vaguely queasy?

I *try* not to do Wal-mart. However, for many things that means driving to the next town for instead, so they do get some of my business. If only we had Target on this side of the border.....

[/ QUOTE ]If the OP's having trouble coming up with $15 at a time, it's pretty unlikely that they can plonk down enough for a yearly.

But cut the game's gross income by a full third? Not A Good Idea.

Yeah, they call them Super Walmarts, a regular Walmarts on one side of the store and a supermarket on the other side. Only reason I go there is because inside it has the closest Auntie Annes Soft Pretzel store to my home. Nearby there is also a Rita's Italian Ice, so I get all my cravings filled in one trip.

I have to, unfortunately, because I have food allergies and not many stores carry the bread I need. If only the food 4 less store *right across the street* from me would carry other things than their corporate hq tells them to. Or, if only the Henry's up the street would consistantly carry the bread I need. It's always sold out, they know they need more but they never order enough. boo. It's why i only try shopping one day a week, because that's a hella day to wander the town looking for foods.

No, removing 1/3 of the monthly fee brings (who was it that calculated it...Zombie_Man? BillZ? Hmmm, drawing a blank) CoH's seven-year(?) viability down to less than half. I'd rather see the whole run, thanks.

I see what you are saying munki. Maybe in a larger town I would do the same thing. Where I live, in a three town area, we have three walmarts and four big grocery stores. It is cheaper for me to leave my house, hit Food 4 Less, Dillons, and Price Cutter in that order. All three have better meat, and I can find everything I need to feed my family for a week. YMMV, but thats just how I shop.

The whole "walmart is the cheapest place to shop" is no longer true. Under Sam Walton walmart was a wonderful place, not just to shop, to work at as well. His kids on the other hand have ruined it.

Bye.

Don't let the door hit you in the butt on the way out.

Find a game that doesn't suck that's subscription fee is cheaper. Pretty much ALL MMO's have a fee that is right around $15 a month. I have never heard of one that is lower.

This is a pretty lame "I'm quitting!" post. You knew what the subscription fee was before you opened your account. I can understand quitting because you're dissatisfied with the game, or quitting because you're bored with it. But quitting because the game costs $5 a month more than you want to pay? Okay, sure, it's your call, but posting on the forums to tell us all about it screams "pay attention to me!"

I'm going to wager a guess here, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. You started playing while the broken AE PL farms were in full swing and got to 50 ridiculously fast. Now that you have 1 or more 50's you're under the impression that there isn't anything to do because you skipped over the majority of the game. Since you don't think there's anything to do you feel the subscription fee is too high.

Am I close?

Everquest.
Released 1999.
Monthly subscription - $14.99

WoW.
Relased November 2004.
Monthly subscription - $14.99.

Warhammer Online.
Released last year.
Montly subscription - $14.99.

If games OLDER than us don't lower the price below newer games, and games ALMOST as old as us don't - why should we, other than your whining?

The rate isn't "so high." Pay in larger blocks, and you pay less per month.

Edit:

Maybe Taco Bell should lower their prices...because, you know....they have been around forever. They have been around so long, they should be giving food away for free!!

Taco Bell should pay me to take away their "food." Notice I didn't say eat. And it has nothing to do with how old they are. >.>
