I will give The_Reactor some credit though, that post was possibly one of the best pro i13 PvP material I have read so far.

I remember how fallout on my defender was uber, how I messed up 2 MMs, 3 brutes, and 4 stalkers with it (and the Vangaurd Medal FTW!!!) one time, because it was a debuff, hold, huge damage AND was unresistable. I remember how the widows were unhittable, did damage with which most people didn't have any resistance, and how overpowered they were.
I played through all of this stuff. I remember the times I would get killed over and over and over, by the same three powers on an enemy, and I could still tell the player had no skill, but they thought they were the bomb. I remember the players that I could tell did have skill, and they would be good tough to fight regardless of whether they had a FoTM build or a 'off flavor' build. They were still good; they understood tactics and how move in and out of combat. They didn't always win, but they didn't lose a lot either.
I also remember something that players like the above guy don't realize or won't accept. When a player on one toon has to do a huge number of things to get a win when another toon simply has to push 3 buttons, that's broken. Toggle-based builds are viable in PvP. In old PvP, players kept toggles to a minimum, because players want to attack and defend themselves against each other NOT attack and defend their power tray. I got killed a lot, I never won more than I lost, but I also refuse to make a spines/regen or an ice/em tanker for pvp, not because I don't want to pvp with them, it's simply taste: I like playing flying characters and with old pvp, I still played flying toons, and I suffered with them. But that's what I wanted to play. And a spiner or ice tank or ice blaster doesn't interest me...I repeat, it just ain't my cup of tea. The players that play them builds love 'em, well, I love my flying scrapper thank you very much.
Villain Epic ATs are wonderful. The devs did a great job of making them very good. Unfortunately in the old PvP, the hero ATs really stunk in PvP, unless they had an empathy defender with them. The entire heroside was totally dependent on having empaths. Once the empaths left the zone, the heroes were at a marked disadvantage, this too was broken.
I laughed at all the players that complained about ED and the GDN; because I knew way back then, the devs had something coming that was wonderful: IOs. And now I laugh at the pvp whiners; the devs actually do know what they are doing. PvP is fair now. The players that are complaining are simply the players that had an unfair advantage in pvp, not because they were better (they were definitely NOT better) at pvp, it was simply they got a 'built in' advantage just because they chose certain powers with which to pvp. Players like me, that build their character according to their 'character conception' rather than always taking phase shift, because it allows escape, and always taking hybernate, for the same reason, or taking the sharks pool, just because its 'the pvp thing to do', play a 'notch down' in power because we want to play our characters in pvp the way we want to play, not because we have to have the same sets all the 'clone' pvp players use.
So, in conclusion, if you make a FoTM, more power too you. But expect players, especially champions pen and paper players, to take your statements with a grain of salt. Because when I see a FoTM in pvp with a toon name that has nothing to do with comic books built just like every other FoTM, I know you aren't very good. Or when a player makes a toon whose name is intended to insult other players, you wouldn't last 15 minutes in my champions campaign, you got nothin'. So the players that are complaining that new pvp is horrible...good for you, there are a lot of other things in the game to do. Have fun.
But there are players out there that love their characters and love pvp. And those players want to play. They don't care if they win or lose, but they do want a fair fight and know that the outcome is not predetermined before the first shot is even fired. And if you try to put words in my mouth, or flame me for what I'm saying, I'll laugh at you for that too. I know what my toons can do and win or lose I also can tell if another player is any good. Just like Seraph said in the Matrix: "You can never trully know someone, until you fight them."

I added in yellow some of the sets I seen in the last month. Once again I would like to point out that each server is different. From my experience of PvPing is that some servers like to Solo in zone PvP and this causes a lot of players to pick toons that dont require to many buffs, for example Tankers, Stalkers, Scrappers, VEATS, etc..., but on servers that always like to form a teams and call out targets for spikes are usually a more diverse group.

Unfortunately, seeing them in a zone doesn't necessarily mean that they are a proficient build. If we were to list sets that we've seen rather than what's proven to be genuinely useful, we'd have nearly every combination listed over time.

After reading the reactors post i think he's castles son or something, this guy said that heroes were no match for vills i12. Geez i seen misinformed ppl before, but he couldnt have actually pvp'd to think that heroes didn't utterly wreck most vill builds. Hell a good fire blaster even with out support was a force to be reckoned with. Scrappers were good, trollers were good, hell to be honest the only thing you couldnt get your rocks off using heroside(atleast i never seen any) are WS's.
Just having a emp would neutralize any vill team advantages, but through all that all you needed were tactics and strategy and you could still win. THAT's What Made PvP Fun , working strategies against other opponents using their strategies. The only thing the vills wanted was some sort of emp to even things out, and we got it, unfortunately with the coming of the vils emp like toons also came all the nerfs and dr.
I can still remember how disgusted i was on test playing my heal decayed, DR'd pain/corr that just got the 50 bump. Thinking they finally gave us this glory only for it to be overshadowed by this disgusting pvp negative additions. I remember playing live alot more to try and preserve what pvp was left and play with my friends a few more times before they quit.

Now I figured out why we have different versions of PvP builds. I am talking about Zones and you are talking about dueling builds.

Anything could work in zones, more or less, in I12. These days, not so much. Some builds are more an annoyance than a real threat, though.

I pvp'ed since i11 and i actually enjoyed it a lot..yes i died a lot on my corr and i got my kills too..yes being perma held was annoying (SoW and BFs anyone?) but it is not the point. If you take zones all i see every day is 10 tankers vs 20 stalkers and guess what? Even 8 stalkers have hard times to kill this tankers due NPCs being so freaking OPed. If you bring anything else it usually works only for target distraction and being farmed(unless you phase/hiber) -gg. Take arena: this is more controlled area so you can see the difference much better here(no ganking, NPcs blah blah).
DR on variant: drain end and button smashing till heals won't go off?

And i tell you what was fun: i played ice/cold corr back then(yes it was concept toon, yes i loved it just because it was something i really wanted to play and not because it was good in pvp or not)...it was almost science which insps to bring..it was very tactic heavy when to hit hold, when to use HL and where to put sleet, which toggles to keep on and not..when to pop BF or use webnade..i admit corrs epic needed some buff but dude is i13 really worth it now?...none of debuffs do anything ..none of buffs do anything..and hell how much dmg does BiB now - 50? LOL?
I don't see how you say any AT/build is viable now. All you need for pvp now is crazy dmg and end drain everything else fails. Awesome balance. Very Indeed.

You say pvp is awesome now i am sorry i can't agree. I have some friends that never tried pvp and only pve'ed and guess what.. they come to RV or arena to pvp with me now and ask me WTH why am i so slow, why i don't have perma dom, why i get hit why...why... why...Besides good player is still good player...just very stupid example: we did 5v5 ...arena pvp'ers vs ocasional pvp'ers...we won 56 - 3 i think...

Those are terrible changes. I mean, I agree with DPA balancing, but it should've been done at launch and not only to PvP, five years after the game launched.

Mez resist sucks, just bring damn breakfree's, it is a sad day that my stalker can hold a WP tank running Sow with out as much as needed to stack, i just press my hold and boom. This is an outrage, castle should pvp a little and leave the data mines alone they are dry and no ore in them.
Give us our own i12 zone or arena setting Lets end the back and forth, those of you who love your i13-14 you pvp their np, i for one would gladly leave your zone and go to one i can have fun with away from this button mashing nonsense we have now.
