Can We Please FIX PVP
yes they did.
if target = critter has been around since the introduction of pvp.
it's the way irresistible damage worked back then. it's also the reason why things like heat loss were bugged and gave player targets end rather than draining it.

Huh? They Mentioned PvP and you mention PvE critters? How would the Devs know that to make the damage for AoE's and PBAoE's different for PvP than PvE if the arena didnt come out until a few issues later?
They did.
they had a way of tagging powers in terms of it's effects depending on whether the target of the power was a critter or a player.
i see you aren't very well informed in terms of this.
you ever thought "hmmm i wonder how my AS is resistible by critters, but when i AS a player it's not?" or "i wonder why my heat loss drains minions but it gives end to other players?".
my point is dpa balancing could have happened as far back as i7.
I believe what he's saying is that it should have happened at launch for all aspects of the game instead of slapping it on this far along after release and only in one part of the game.

I'm not hyper.
I'm frisky.

I prefer to be amused, TYVM. = D
does it work? o.o
No
I have been in the pvp crowd for a long time. I have done both test and live and I have seen the game get some needed nerfs and some needed buffs to help and try to balance some power sets.
I have played an EM/Regan stalker for over 3 years and have seen the nerf bat more then any other AT. I have taken the nerf rerolled my toon and became the best I could with the way the toon was allowed to be played.
But now all I can see is some people saying that us pvpers are crying and wasting time posting here. But these same people posted here before saying how they couldn't play there so called toons because someone was better than them. They hit to hard, they move to fast.
So the devs then try and make things right. Instead of just fixing some things they went too far and ruined a really good pvp system. Yes there were some toons that needed to be toned down. And yes there was some that needed to be buffed.
IN the end what we got was not a balance system at all. I can build a toon now that will become the FOTM and all that will do is cause them to cry more. The issue is I'm not leaving pvp. I will just find something I know will work within the rules that have been put down. This is not the pvp system we need or want.
Other will say it fine but when you need no skill at all to play then what is the point. Someone else pointed out that they say there is more people pvping now. Well I have to leave victory and goto freedom to find more people in the pvp zone.
Its funny that freedom being one of the most player heavy severs is the pvp sever. I don't do TF I have played the game from 1-50 and seen all the content that it had to other. So when all was said and done pvp was that last thing I could do and enjoy. Please don't get me wrong I would welcome all to come and pvp and have a fun time. You will need to learn your toon and know how other powers work. PVP is a game of skill just like chess. So if we are to look at it like chess maybe we should have zones with different restrictions.
Cause you would not put a beginning players against a master chest player. You sure would not tell the master its not fair you out think the other player so we are going let him have 3 moves to your 1. I hope you can understand the reason this pvp system was good was due to the whole 360 degrees attack. You could be hit from anywhere. But now we are slowed, we are less damage on some toons are heals have been nerfed, yet we are here just asking please give us what we are willing to pay for.

This is where the prob is. You thought CoX PvP was a 'really good pvp' system? Sorry, but its wasnt - and really - still isn't, but I say its better.
I understand that fans of the game got used to the way it was. And sure, thats the devs fault for taking to long to even look @ the pvp issues. Then there's that small percentage that maybe DID actually enjoy it, but bottom line: CoX PvP wasnt bringing in any subscriptions from other MMOs.
Do you really think that the reason for the small PvP minority is due to the fact that the majority hates PvP? Answer: No, they hate THIS PvP. It was bad.
See your still trying to say that the other system wasn't any good but you give no real good reason. Was it to hard? Was it to fast moving? Please don't try and say it was due to FOTM cause they are still there.
if you was to give some reason why this system seems better to you then might help me to understand your view point but as it is right all I am seeing is people saying its balance now. And well its not. Its worse now.
As far as other not liking pvp that is cause they are not pvpers. No matter what you do you will not get these people to like pvp. As far as getting others to come here from other games that are pvpers I hate to tell you this but it want happen. Cox will need more content then what they have to offer to get people to leave other games.
And lets be real for a moment I have said we could have different levels of pvp zones. have it where people can go that like the new system and one where it was like the old system. It would not be that hard and all would be happy.

And I say you're wrong. Since you've already demonstrated in various threads around here that you have no idea what you're talking about (the "you use Hibernate!?" comment was cute, btw), your opinion doesn't really carry much weight with the rest of us, does it?

Let me know how the PvEers react when they implement the PvP travel suppression system in PvE. After all, it's stated that unsuppressed movement was a bug, and since movement powers work identically in PvE and PvP, it's only logical that it's a bug in PvE as well. Obviously the fast movement in PvE causes the game to be unbalanced and gives melee ATs a hard time, so they should implement this suppression in PvE as well. Lengthy mezzes from NPCs are unfair as well - we should make them all two seconds long, but remove status protection from melee ATs in PvE. Squishies aren't survivable enough. Let's give them base resistances in PvE as well. Oh, and external buffs aren't supposed to be giving their full benefit. Let's implement diminishing returns, because IO'd characters are trivializing the game and making it un-fun for everyone else.
Besides, where are the new subscriptions from other MMOs that these PvP changes brought in? Surely if they brought in more PvPers, adding the changes to PvE will bring in a ton of players from other MMOs, right? Oh wait, maybe that's not such a good idea.

Some people didn't like the lack of reward. Some people didn't like that they had to build their character differently. Some people didn't like the unpredictability. Some people didn't like that their Superman clone could die in half a second. Some people just didn't want to PvP. Some people might've even been turned off by the people they met while PvP'ing.
None of that's changed, except the rewards part. Giving PvP a completely different ruleset than the PvE game that they were trying to entice more players from was the exact opposite of what they should have done. Meanwhile, they've lost a large number of some of the best PvPers in the game, people who were terrible under the old rules have now started to get big heads, and people who whined about Stalkers and mez and "having to have teammates" under the old system have found something else to whine about.
"One day we all may see each other elsewhere. In Tyria, in Azeroth. We may pass each other and never know it. And that's sad. But if nothing else, we'll still have Rhode Island."

Those are terrible changes. I mean, I agree with DPA balancing, but it should've been done at launch and not only to PvP, five years after the game launched.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes but PvP was not out at the launch so they had no idea to change this.
