I think that you're on to something as far as their intent but I don't think it really worked all that well. All the threads about changes to the MA still have a lot of bitterness and vitriol and upset people but they're getting modsmacked so regularly, it may only seem that the talk has died down.

That still doesn't make any sence because the play styal of a Stalker is NOTHING like a Blaster. Blasters stand back and attack from a distance. Stalkers get right up close, assassin strike, run away till hide comes back and do it again.
Hell the play styal of a stalker really isn't equill to ANYTHING. I really hate them personally because of the whole run away and hide thing. They just can't stay alive verry long otherwise. Even with regen I was dieing shortly after my assassin strike.
Anyway, moving on the play styal of a Tanker is NOTHING like a Mastermind. I have 5 Masterminds, I love Masterminds but again, I hate Tankers. Tanks, all I do is stand there and taunt. It's rather boring to play a tanker. I can't do much else without looseing all my end and haveing my toggles drop. Mastermind, get pets out then once I have them out from there Playing my Zombie/Dark MM is exactly like playing my DDD just with zombies following me.
Now Brutes and Scrappers, yes the play styal on them is VERRY simular. Like I said before I have DB/WP Brute and Scrapper and they both have the exact same powers, I play them both the same but the Brute can take ALOT more DMG than my Scrapper can. My Brute goes through mobs alot faster because of fury and sence I'm trying to keep furry up as much as possible he doesn't stop to rest as much as the scrapper who just does random criticals. The Scrapper I stop to regain health and end between mobs as needed.

I don't think its the play style that is important but more the role they play, a masterminds keep aggro like tanks, Stalkers do High damage like blasters etc.
Personally i think direct comparisons shouldn't be made, but if they are then it should be more on the roles each AT plays.

That's actully the first comparison comment I've heard that really makes sence. I still don't agree with it 100% but I can understand how the compairisons were made better.
Just to add to the "don't raise the level cap" debate. Really, if they did raise the level cap all it'd be is more slots because at this point all my 50s have every power I could ever possibly use and some I never use but just has because I still had power options. If anything the level cap is too high as it is. I wouldn't want it lowered either but really what do you exspect to gain from haveing more powers that you'll probly never even use?
BTW how is side switching going to work for Arachnos? We're good guys but we're wearing uniforms of an evil organization.
Just a guess, but I'd assume that the "6th" slot reserved for a SoA costume will go away if they turn heroic.

Just to clarify a little, the "Raise the Cap" bit is coming from the same survey that "revealed" Going Rogue some time back (last year). In it, there was a proposed way of raisign the level cap without raising the level cap. In the survey, they proposed a system of "Continued Advancement" rather than continued leveling. When you met the requirements you earned a new "Universal Enhancement Slot" which could be slotted for an effect that effected the entire character (rather like an IO Set bonus) and you could earn up to 10 of them. Your level never went past 50 but you continued to advance for 10 more "levels." It had the virtue of not wiping out all the current high level content/raids/IOs but allowing continued character development (and, naturally, more time until you ran out of things to do to "level").
I'm of two minds about the whole thing. More to do on my mains, especially 10 more "levels" of advancement is appealing as is the idea of being able to furthur customize them with Universal Enhancement Slots. At the same time though, it won't be long until the "new" maximum advancement has been reached and I'm right bakc where I am, just with a more advanced/customized/powerful character. Personally, I think I'd like to see them do it but at the same time, I can see why they wouldn't.

Stalker: burst damage AT, (slightly less) squishy
They sound pretty similar to me.
Rial, the problem is, you're playing your Stalker like a Scrapper. They have their own ebb and flow that you need to get used to. It's entirely possible that you're not wired for that style of play; I, for one, can't play Blasters, because I'm compelled to move in and punch bad guys instead of hanging back and pegging them from a distance.
I actually prefer Stalkers to Brutes because I always have Endurance issues on Brutes, much like you were claiming to have with Tanks (another class I don't like to play). The exception is my Energy Aura Brute... a powerset that others pan as being one of the worst in the game. I LOVE that character.
So hopefully, you see what I'm saying: the individual player's style of gaming affects which ATs he or she prefers. Just because you don't like to play Stalkers doesn't mean they suck.
EDIT: Somehow I missed Cuppa_Tea's post about comparing ATs by the roles they play, not by the powers they have. This is what I was intending to show with the opening lines.

Yeah when you put it that way but that has abolutly NOTHING to do with play styal.
Play Styal refers to the stratigy you use to play and build your character in which the Play styal for a stalker is not compairible to ANYTHING sence no other AT is built around haveing Hide, Placate, and Assassin Strike.
Tankers and Brutes have a simular play styal sence both are built to be able to go in take lots of DMG and draw aggro. Yeah MMs can draw aggro with their pets but the way they play is not the same as a Tanker or a Brute.

Everyone allways complains about END on Scrappers and Brutes but I've never had that issue. The reason being toggles are what drains your end and I allways skip over them unless I'm a Tanker.

Just thought of something. Will we be able to choose between Epic power pools or Patron power pools now? Seems like you'll be able to switch to whichever side you want in the early 40s and take what you want....which is good stuff. Wonder how this will work?
I hope they add some new ORIGINAL ATs, all new tiles sets, new epic powers and costume creator v.2. Most of that was in that old survey list and I hope it's happening with ROGUE.

Not just toggles. Attacks and travel powers will drain your End too, or did you think that they're free? Even temp travel powers drain End. Get Mids, learn how to slot properly and most (if not all) of your End problems will go away. And as a side note, if you're skipping toggles simply to save on End drain then you have a lot to learn.

I'm pretty sure this has probably been covered, but I'm too sleepy at the moment to read through the entire thread since my last post. What I'd like to know is what will happen regarding SG/VG memberships should you cross over to the other side? Will we be forced to drop from our current groups, or will there be a mechanic introduced that would allow a villain for example to retain his VG membership or vice-versa for a hero? I'm loathe to have my Brute's 4.2 million prestige (and his position as founder of the VG) go away into the ether, but the idea of crossing him over to hero side is just so tempting!
Edited for spelling. Need more sleep, but I've been told that's for the weak, so I guess I'll have to deal.

Then you're not too intelligent. The devs know better than to pull something like that, and they've already stated that it's a full expansion. They've only just dropped us the hook and they're waiting a little to reel us in with the rest of it. If you take things at face value from the info in a simple "Hey this is on the way but we're not gonna tell you any big details just yet" press release then you must be an awfully pesimistic person.
At least we got a real teaser this time instead of that lame "I Win" button crap for issue 14. This trailer really got me excited about the issue.
See, that's the attitude we should be seeing really. They went really big with the trailer and they announced a very big new feature, so obviously they're putting alot of work into it. When was the last time we got a CG trailer? The Korean release if I remember correctly. It's big stuff coming up so why not just be excited and ponder about how all this is going to work into the game instead of everyone flinging threats of leaving if such-and-such isn't implemented. We're here to have fun, so why not try it people?

The power sets will most likely be part of the free content that comes with I16. The 50 bucks will get you side-switching, and not a new zone but a new City's worth of content, along with possibly a new AT.
