Everyone allways complains about END on Scrappers and Brutes but I've never had that issue. The reason being toggles are what drains your end and I allways skip over them unless I'm a Tanker.

[/ QUOTE ]

Problem solved right there. No toggles = You WILL get owned. No questions.

[/ QUOTE ]

Actully I tend to get owned WITH toggles on Scraps and Brutes because end drops faster and end up not being able to attack which kinda defeats the perpus of a dmg dealer.

Yeah I know my spelling sucks but surely you must realize my issue was with STALKERS dieing alot not Scrappers and Brutes.

Hmmm, ever consider using end reduction in toggles? Or IO sets? There is a reason that they are toggles. Not just so you have something to turn on and off. They are your more powerful resists and defences. I have yet to have any end problems since IO set came out, different story with SOs though. I hate slotting for end reduction unless it is in a set IO.

Not just toggles. Attacks and travel powers will drain your End too, or did you think that they're free?

[/ QUOTE ]

Now you're just putting words in my mouth. Yeah everything takes end (except auto powers) but the end drain from your attacks is nothing compaired to your toggles. Even if you actully missread or missunderstood what I said you have to be a noob not to realize toggles cost more endurance than attacks.

It's one quick burst of END loss for an attack that you'll get back 2 sec. later naturally vs. a constant end drain for a toggle that you won't get back till your toggles drop, you turn them off, use a CaB, or rest.

Out of curiosity, do you use Stamina in your builds?

If I were actully talking to you insted of posting a message on these fourms I would be saying something really sarcastic in responce to these comments but sence the sarcasum would be lost I'll just skip the sarcastic remark.

Of course I use END reduction, I put thoughs in every power that will except them which is ALL OF THEM. (except autos) I allso have Stamina which oddly enough seems to be another reason people complain about END. About 1 out of every 3 people in game who complain about endurance issues (that I've encountered) don't have Staminia.

Hell even with Willpower which has Stamina built in I still get the fitness version with it and even with all that attacking while keeping toggles on is a pain in the @$$ so I just stick with one or the other, not both at the same time.

So with this Rogue Expansion set, will we be able to collect both villain and hero badges?

[/ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
For the first time, Hero characters can become Villains and vice versa, enabling Heroes to cross over to the Rogue Isles™ and Villains to experience Paragon City™.

[/ QUOTE ]

It's nonsensical to assume that characters can cross over and "experience" the other side of the game without getting badges.

[/ QUOTE ]
I think he really meant to phrase the question as something like, "If we change sides, can we keep our old badges as well as getting the new ones" or "can we have both hero and villain badges on our character at the same time?"

The answer to which, unfortunately, is that we don't know yet. I remain hopeful.

Main Hero: Chad Gulzow-Man (Victory) 50, 1396 Badges
Main Villain: Evil Gulzow-Man (Victory) 50, 1193 Badges
Mission Architect arcs: Doctor Brainstorm's An Experiment Gone Awry, Arc ID 2093

Again, why assume you would lose your previous side badges? Especially considering the devs did confirm (I forget exactly where, but it was pretty clear) that you can switch sides multiple times. Since it's not a "one off" side switch, I see no reason why they would remove badges you earned.

EDIT: It was in the FAQ:

[ QUOTE ]
Q: If you change over to the opposite alignment, can you change back?

A: Yes.

I don't assume that they'll be "removed," but I wouldn't be terribly surprised if they were hidden.

Can my hero run around in the Rogue Isles displaying his Devilfish (defeat Lusca) badge? Can my villain run around Paragon displaying the Surging (defeat Deathsurge) badge? Or will they be hidden when you're not a member of the appropriate faction?

Again, I remain optimistic that we'll have the opportunity to have characters with over 1000 badges at a time once the expansion goes live, but as long as side-switching doesn't remove any of your current badges (and I agree with MG that it probably won't), I'll be hopping a ferry to the Rogue Isles to get another few hundred badges.

I don't see a compelling reason for hiding previous side badges. They're not going to rename Assassination Strikes to Heroic Strikes or call Stalkers Hunters or anything like that, so I don't think they'll be troubled by Villains using Heroic sounding badges or vice versa.

I could be wrong, obviously, but it's highly unlikely.

Wait didn't they give all the badges names for both sides anyway? I don't know for sure but on badgewhore all badges have two names...don't know where they got their information but it could be in preparation from this.

I had a thought about that, playing an in-game monster, maybe as some sort of unlockable content, you get a critter cage and as you meet certain milestones, critters show up in in your cage for you to use.

It could be as simple as:

Paragon City in Preatorian Earth = Villain area
Rogue Isle in Preatorian Earth = Hero area

Therefore allowing us to experience the other area albeit from a different perspective.

Now that CO is postponed until Sept.,
who thinks that this will effect the release date of GR?

Thanks for taking time to look at what I wrote and add your opinions.

It should be clear at this point that ::

[ QUOTE ]
Good point and I agree, but I really don't see the devs doing anything like this... it'd anger WAY too many players.

[/ QUOTE ]

...has been invalidated.

Sometimes the DEVs can think up really good ideas but their fore-sight is some what lacking. I hope that is because they are always looking out for the benevolence of players and not dwelling on the malevolence.

Prometheus, where are you!? Your bother Epimethius runs amok again!

I pointed out what I did not because I think that the DEVs aren't intelligent enough to understand or to already be thinking about what I brought up, but rather to point it out so that it is not over-looked.

When I see the same pothole in the road every day, I avoid it, call to have it fixed, etc. I don't drive into it every day and say - hey - there is that pothole again...ah, who cares - meanwhile my cars alignment is being shot to Hades.

My post was a friendly reminder - hey, I saw some potholes. I'm going to avoid them. You're my friend, so I'm warning you about some bad ones I saw.

It looks like no one but you has any input on the matter, which I found quite odd. Possibly they are making all the same assumptions that you are....I, however, seriously doubt that is the case....

....I'm getting a bad feeling about this...

You know I rewatched the trailer today and I didn't notice this the first time but the city they show on the moniter when she says "It looks like Paradice" and that Tyrant was speaking in, it looks like it would be an alternate version of Grandvile. Which would stand to reason that if Tyrant is in the Rouge Isles then the Arachnos would be in Paragon City.

This is less simple than just letting us use the zones already in existence, and it potentially splits the playerbase 5 ways (Real Paragon, Real RI, Praetoria, Praetorian Paragon, Praetorian RI) instead of 3 (Paragaon, RI, Praetoria).

I think Praetoria will have 6-8 zones. Some of these zones might have identical names to existing zones like Atlas or Grandville, but will look 100% different and will actually be brand new zones.

And yet, no one has answered this question yet!

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes. I assume that will be the main draw for people to cross sides.

[/ QUOTE ]
Haven't seen this confirmed yet.

[/ QUOTE ]

It was confirmed in the initial email:

[/ QUOTE ]

The question is this...what happens to the badges that were already earned??? I think it could be set up so with how they have the "groups" of badges set up for personal and SG to setup another tab (for those of us that have hero toons have a villain tab and vice versa)....the question then becomes how will accolade powers work? Will the accolade powers work only when you switch factions or will the powers still be in place?

Will we be forced to drop from our current groups, or will there be a mechanic introduced that would allow a villain for example to retain his VG membership or vice-versa for a hero? (...)

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm reasonably sure you'll have to disassociate yourself from a Villain Group before they'll let you into polite society.

Sounds about right. If you think about it in all of the Praetorian missions take place in Paragon City. They are all trashed and look like Mercy.

I think all this talk that the side-switching is only going to be in Praetoria is ridiculous. If that was going to be the case then they wouldn't have said Paragon City and The Rogue Isles. They're no doubt called something different in Praetoria, plus with side-switching as the big hook of this expansion it's a little paranoid and "tinfoil hat" to assume that it's not going to take place in the prime world.

You will retain all badges that were earned, because you can always switch back to your original side. The Devs aren't going to wipe out all badges if you are able to switch back. They may change the names of the badges depending on what side you are on, but they'll still be there.

Accolades present an interesting question. It's possible you will only get access to the Accolades on the side you are on, but they might also just let you have them all. I haven't done the research to see if that would be unbalancing or not.
