I have NEVER seen an Ice/Psi.

And the combo looks like it could work well... the huge -rech you could stack on baddies would be impressive. Also, /psi's aoe could make up for Ice's lack of aoe.

Psi is a highly resisted damage type in late game.

Also, both damage types are among the least resisted in the game.

I have a lvl 2 ice/psi blaster... some day I start developing him.

Actually I've been on ITF (?) with one of these, it's a very strange sight indeed, yet oddly compelling

I have a sonic/electric and an arrow/fire. (My namesake is the arrow/fire) Have seen a few arrow/fire but no other sonic/electrics as of yet.

[/ QUOTE ]

I actually have a sonic/elec in the 30's thats been collecting dust for about a year. But then again, all my blasters are /elec, including my 3 50's. Sad, but true.

yeah, I made an ice/mm for the exact same reason, but I've been sick of the grind since i13 and never got her past lvl 7

Know of two, personally.

:

This is an impossible question. EVERYONE has played EVERYTHING.

The moment you suggest something, someone will pipe up and go on about how it's their:

a) First 50
b) Favorite Toon
c) Most Powerful Character™
d) Most Hated Character That Is Still 50
e) Most Hated Character That They Refuse to Delete/Grind
f) A Powerful Toon They Wish To, but Haven't Leveled
g) Friend's/Acquaintance's/Teammate's/SGMate's (a), (b), (c), (d), (e), and/or (f)

:

If you really want toons that people don't play often, I think you'll have to venture over towards Stalkertown or to "London", depending on your preferences. Even then...

Huh. I have one that is level 46 now (need to update my sig...). Created her the same time as a Psi/MM. One took off, the other is I think in the low teens. I think the combo works pretty well.

Admittedly she probably hasn't been seen very often - I haven't teamed with her in many, many levels.

Suggestions:
Super Packs Done Right
Influence Sink: IO Level Mod/Recrafting
Random Merit Rolls: Scale cost by Toon Level

I have a 20ish Ice/MM specced as a Posi runner. Works extremely well for both Posi and Synapse TFs.

I have a level 50 one of those, was done for animation stupidity purposes after experiencing the awesomeness of the granite jump kick a while back. It's not very good, slowing the combos recharge down is not a good idea.

On the blaster front, sonic/fire is not common and I'm told by my friend with one, sucks. I'm not sure if I've seen a psi/ice, AR/elec arch/elec, the last two I suspect because the primaries are ranged, and the secondary suits blapping.

If this was year 1, I would say anything with Ice in it. Ice wasn't even considered a Blaster set by other Blasters until around Issue 4.

As for today, you'd be hard pressed to find a set that isn't played. I say grab something that suits your fancy and roll with it.

I bet elec/* is the most "non-played"..As for a secondary, maybe elec/mental, elec/device's, elec/cold?

elec/cold would work pretty good actually, with the control of Ice Patch allowing you to end drain mobs with more safety..

altho, ive never been a fan of end drain in PvE.

perma jump is ---> /up 1

This is why I don't visit the blaster section too often... Gives my elec/dev an inferiority complex. >.<

But, uh - yeah, I'd say devices is fairly oddball compared to other sets. It isn't HORRIBLE, but - it just doesn't synergize well with most primaries, and it plays COMPLETELY different, requireing set-up time that just isn't desireable on most teams. So - unless you're willing/able to work at least half a spawn ahead of the team setting up a timebomb; on the run you only have about 3 atacks to use: web nade, caltrops, and taser.

And I can't speak for many other primary sets, but to do what it does really well, Elec blast tends to need either /elec or /energy. Because elec's additional effect is endurance drain, it's an all or nothing type thing, and since ED, you cannot rely on a single application of Short Circuit alone.

I play a few blasters but they're mainly team focused, I decided to play a sonic/dev intending to solo using AoE sleep and bombs. Currently lvl 22 so hasn't got to those powers yet, but I thought it would be different to anything I've done before. Maybe it will work, maybe not, but it will be different, which not many things are when you have 130 toons including 34 (non PLd) 50s.

En/Fire

It was my first 50, Using the Energy Torrent to push everything into a corner, and then fire sword circle.. is quite fun.

Posted

My main guy is Energy/Fire, too. Doesn't seem too unique. It's cool to run around with hot feet on, use the fire ring to immobilize something, use burn around them, and then hit the fire sword circle. And if they're still standing after that, repeated energy blasts are all the more satisfying.

Man, I was gonna come on here and say Energy/Fire also. I know its been possible to make one since day one, but the crazy knockback in conjunction with powers that require the foe be next to you seemed like a good "you either love it or hate it" combo. Then like 3 or 4 of you had to show up with the same suggestion.

I had always meant to make one of these, even had one for a while. He was a play on the various Marvel-esque cosmic entities out there. Energy and Fire Swords and whatnot.

I've been DYING to try a psi/dev I'm just not ready to build another blaster yet. Workin on a tank and coupla scraps. next blaster will def. be a Psi/Dev, meanwhile if you want a non-popular but amazing to play blaster go Ice/Elec it truly was a beauty from 1-50.

[/ QUOTE ]

I've made a couple Psi/Devs (but my altitis, combined with my quickly growing bored with Blasters keeps seeing me delete them and start something else/start over).

Concept wise, my Psi/dev is a rogue Fortunata who defected from Arachnos, and has basically been forced into becoming a Hero. (Because Arachnos is after him, and he needs to be on good terms with the other Heroes so they can help/protect him, so he has to constantly prove that he's a good guy now.)

Man, I bet DB/stone is hilarious to watch.

Thinking about blasters, I don't believe I've ever seen a elec/mm blaster before.

/fire seems to be pretty rarely combined with anything that isn't fire/, so you could go that way too.

That's actually my next scheduled blaster :P.

With regen bonuses, heals 1 tic every 3 seconds like a regen scrapper, and will have capped hp, slotted hoarfrost (as a heal in this situation) frozen armor and hibernate, almost as a regen/ice armor secondary almost.

Then will have shiver, snowstorm, and knockbacks as a major MAJOR form of mitigation.

Will be very very survivable, damaging, and fun , can't wait.
