OP, if you're really only interested in the strongest, then you've been well advised in the previous replies. However, if you want strongest AND prettiest, I suggest 8 x WM/EA

She stands just outside the cinema in AP, by the Steel Canyon zone connection. She is clearly a contact. Dressed up pretty nice in red and white, including a white hat.
I'm currently not on my own comp, so I have no access to the beta server. Just curious if she may be a new contact that somehow got enabled on live, or if she's like Capt. Taggart in Steel, who seems to serve no purpose whatsoever. -
Quote:I'm sure many people wanted to go back home to Hiroshima and Nagasaki after the bombs, as well. In most cases, they probably did, and helped to rebuild those cities to what they are today.I'm upset that Nova Praetoria is getting nuked. Given proximity, blastwaves, heat, radiation and fallout, Imperial City's pretty much done for, and likely a huge swathe of Neutropolis at the very least.
My characters left Praetoria always hoping to go back home one day

Quote:Until recently, the Cosplay Policy (section 4.1 of the ToS) was at best a minor deterrent to play; people would ask, but you could just point out that it was completely unenforced, and they would ignore it. But today, the GMs have started enforcing this policy, and the fact is, it's a stupid policy, and I think it should be dropped entirely.
There are a number of flaws with the Cosplay Policy. First, cosplay can be expensive, and not everyone can afford good costumes. Secondly, this is particularly punitive for people who have a large number of alts, and you don't even want to think about alt-hopping to check for a particular enhancement; if you thought the 30 second logout timer was long, having to completely change before logging in is ridiculous.
Furthermore, the cosplay policy unfairly penalizes some character concepts more than others. "Guy in trenchcoat with two guns" is easy, "giant robotic exoskeleton" is... not easy. A lot of people have a lot of time and effort invested in characters that are very difficult to pull off, and at least one GM wasn't even letting people go to the tailor or a trainer to pick a new costume!
The fact is, I think a lot of us have been playing CoH in our normal clothes all along, and I think the game was plenty fun; I am not at all convinced that I needed extra help getting into the spirit of the game, and really, when it's implemented as pushy enforcement like this, it's mostly just intrusive. It doesn't create immersion, it just creates resentment.
Frankly, if the cosplay policy isn't dropped, I think a lot of people will stop playing CoH entirely. At the very least, I think GMs need to be a lot more forgiving of amateur-level costume efforts.
I really wouldn't think on it too much. Something like this crops up once a year <.< -

Quote:I could've sworn the level up effect at 50 was more intense and brighter/louder than the 49 previous ones.
Could just be my perception though, since that ding is usually watched for more than others.
It is. Actually the level up effects increase every 10 levels, with L 50 being the big one, of course. There used to be a video of it, I think by Tal_N, if I find it, I'll edit this post accordingly. -
The limit is 20000.
Note: This means items total, not just decorative.
You can easily check how close you are to that, by opening your 'upgrade plot' window. It will tell you how much you have of everything in one glance, more or less. -
Just a few things, here...
Quote:So you all are saying there are alot of people doing it wrong then? Seriously I see more invuls die in combat than any other set for non-tanks. And on tanks fire might die before invul but unless unstoppable is used they die pretty quick. To be honest I hate the set now because it requires too much investment to be any where decent. But if players want to die alot then I guess thats their choice.
I'm not quite sure what you mean with 'investment', honestly. My DB/Invuln Scrapper doesn't have a single Purple in her build, much less one of the sought after PVPIOs; what she has is frugal slotting and the Cardiac Alpha.
She's Res. capped to S/L and a small purple puts her above the softcap to S/L/E/N.
Quote:Whatever we will have to agree to disagree on alot of powersets. Just the other day in game players were talking about how invul is no where near as good as it used to be and how much better willpower is for scrappers and tanks. So I know I am not the only one who feels this way.
And this is just funny. I've heard those arguments in some global channels I'm in as well. It's funny because, although my scrappy has the Rebirth destiny? The only time she really uses it, is when some /WP scrappers stand toe to toe against Rommie or Marauder with her, and she's being nice enough to make sure they don't faceplant.
Now, if you don't like the set, fine. There's plenty of sets I'd never play, too. But claiming /Invuln is trash just tells me you have no clue what you're talking about.

I think it's safe to assume we'll get it eventually. I'm just hoping it's sooner rather than later. -
Interesting...
Overall it's a nice little summary. I especially liked that old-school image of Manticore and what I assume is a proto-BAB.
I'm confused though. Didn't Posi go on record not too long ago, stating that BAB is /not/ a member of the Phalanx? Yet here he is again. -
Hello fellow forumites!
As the title suggests, this post is about the Invulnerability secondary for the Stalker AT. I'd initially considered posting it in the Stalker forum, though I figure more people who've had experience with the set will see it here.
That out of the way; the devs have stated, in regards to proliferation, that they will eventually proliferate every set that make sense. Is this such a set?
Would Invuln. work well on Stalkers? If so, what would need to be changed?
Just drop Tough Hide for Hide and call it a day? Or would more drastic changes be in order, here?
Personally, I would love to see it ported over sooner than later but, I'm curious what others think on the matter.

That facial hair is still missing in the costume creator, too.

Thank you! I distinctly recall going down those little dead end tunnels, so I can't see where we could've missed one. Oh well.

..are "many"?
As in, what is the exact number of bombs on the UG trial, that a league needs to keep from going boom?
I ask, because on the attempted Mo run I was on, we destroyed everyone we found, yet failed to get the badge.
We petitioned, and it was confirmed we destroyed 15 bombs, but there were "many" bombs in the tunnels. So how much is that? Can anybody who's gotten that badge give me a concrete number? I checked both Paragonwiki and Badge Hunter, but both places don't give an exact number.
Thanks in advance for any help. -
Oh, I know. It's Tony Kord that I usually get the mission from in regular play.
What I was saying is, that when clicking on the aspect of the pillar in Ouro, and select that mission, Maurice Feldon is the /only/ contact available, and since he was/is in Galaxy City, you wont get sent there, anymore. -
..seems to not be attainable, currently.
I never paid too much attention to which contact the Pillar sent you to, for the 'defeat all clockwork and skulls' mission, so it may have always been Maurice Feldon.
The issue now is, that with Maurice being a Galaxy City contact, when I try to get the mission, the Pillar pulls a HAL and basically tells me 'sorry Dave, can't let you do that' -
Not at home so I can't play with mids; a few minor points, though:
Looks like you've typed DM as primary, since a Tank wouldn't get Midnight Grasp at 32, but rather at 38.
Is there a specific reason you want to dip into the Leadership pool?
You have the fighting pool open already, and are considering Energy mastery, so why not just take Weave and Focused Accuracy?
Also, I think Stealth would be more beneficial than Maneuvers. I know Stealth offers higher defense values than Maneuvers for tanks, but I'm not sure about the end use.
Lastly, but that's just my bias, I would skip Elude.
Oh...with, or shortly after, i21 go-live, the APP's will open up so that will give you more flexiblty in building...and you may want to look at Soul Mastery (if you don't mind running a patron arc to get more powers) -
I'm pretty sure you get the third build when you unlock your alpha slot, seem to recall a Posi post about that a while back.
Edited for being too slow :/

So, a few weeks ago, my PC died on me, it was old, but ran CoH fairly well (except for invasions of any type, or large CC's)
It had a P4; 1 GB RAM; and a HD 3450 (AGP) graphics card...
Tomorrow, I'll grab a cheap replacement comp, until I can afford a better one
(withdrawal symptoms are terrible)
It comes with a AMD X2 215, 2 GB Ram but the graphics card is an on-board ATI 2100.
My question is this: If I turn UM to the lowest settings, will that card suffice, or should I spend an extra 45.00 for a HD 4350 (PCIe) ?
Thanks for any input,

There are a few things you could do, actually...
1) as Vladislause said, the large fluorescent lamps (off) work well, but cost 500 prestige a pop, don't know if that is an issue for you.
2) the small Shoji lamps (off) could do the trick, but even off, they're still kinda bright, and they're wood/paper, not the best thing in a Volcano, to be sure ;p
3) were I to build your scaffolding, I would use huge or large rusted vents, and make it look as close to those silly walkways you find in council bases as possible, the good thing about the vents is, you can actually angle them how you want, too (IF you have the patience)
good luck with whatever you decide, and post screenies ;p

Quote:Can we make something to go in our fire pit which looks a bit like a blue centurion?
That is all.
E.E.
Well... maybe not for the Pit; but, given the right ambient lighting, the Mystic Advisor 'could' look blue... with his arms out to his sides as they are, I 'could' erect a nice little contraption behind it...
Gah! now I have this idea stuck in my head...thanks <.<
