Remove AE buildings from starter zones.
Why, so the AE farm spam can move to higher-level zones?
Issue 16 made me feel like this.
Warning: This poster likes to play Devil's Advocate.
So the brand new players are not immediately inundated by it and indoctrinated as a farmer generation? We're already seeing level 50 AE noobs, at least if we give them a few levels of normal content, they might give that a shot too.
Duh. Hello? McFly!?

Or if they really want to level exclusively via AE without any other process, they can use Sprint and a short hike to a Tram? I could see that.

Anyway...
Which zones, both Red and Blue side would you suggest?
Would you add a new zone on each side for the buildings to move to or just shuffle the AE'ers into the other, existing crowded buildings?
Or some PocketD-esque situation so that Broadcast within the AE doesn't spill into the zone, but instead throughout the other AE buildings for that faction?

Oh, but it was so cute!
As for the rest, I don't know. I like to keep my suggestions simple, and for now, I think removing them from starter zones would be a good start. I think putting them in nearly ever zone was certainly a mistake, but it seems a bit late to rethink the design concept, remove them all, and create new zones for them (even the recycled instanced, city zones used in missions).

I would say, Steel, Talos, and maybe PI blueside.
redside... Nerva.... the one with the casinos....
Jay Doherty: Yes, there was this one night that I was ready to go home but had to drop the browns off at the super bowl before I left for home. While on the throne it hit me. I stayed for a few more hours and that why we have the pain pads in the game.

"Think of the children" is usually not much of a reason to accept an argument.
My scrapper doesn't need an AoE. She IS an AoE.
/unsigned. I stick to Atlas because AE building and Wentworth's are right next to each other. Also it's really a pointless idea.

Not really.

Well you gave an incredibly simple suggestion without much though or explanation, how is it not pointless?
Also, people that like to farm will farm, people that don't like to won't farm. Pretty simple. People are smart enough to figure out what they like.
Question:
What if someone wants to get at player-made missions right at Level 1? Especially redside, where just getting from Fort Darwin to the Port Oakes ferry would be nearly impossible for a Level 1 character. Well, probably excepting Stalkers, of course.

ShoNuff: If sophisticated = bro-mantically emo-tastic, then I'm going to keep to my Shonen loving simplicity dammit.
What I get from all this is discrimination. Non-farmers want to get rid of all the farmers because of jealousy and other reasons.
Yeah, in alot of ways first timers are being dumb by not playing the content. They are a burden on players who have been around a long time. Everyone has to remember that Noobs have been around for a very long time. Even doing the content and getting to 50 did not ensure that a player got it all. I have seen lvl 50s from years ago who didn't have a clue how to play team style.
Now, those people who are Altaholics and have 20+ toons are being hated on for taking a short cut with new toons they create. Altaholics have been around a long time and they have run the content many times. Should they be hated on for not wanting to spend 3-6 more months running content from lvl 1-50 which at this point they find boring after having done it 20 times?
People have come up with all sorts of ways to discriminate against others like checking badge count and digging for other info on players to figure out wheather or not to alienate them.
By finding reasons to hate others because they asked a silly question will ensure the death of this game. People don't like haters and there seems to be a fair number of haters in the game as of late.
I rather do like I have always done. I am nice, I answer questions no matter how dumb they may be and I prove that people CAN be nice in this MMO and that there is more to the game than farms, stats, and markets. Being helpful has turned some people who started out as farmers into more well rounded players.
Some may say that being nice invites leeching, but in the 4 yrs I've been playing, my being nice has not resulted in a single case of a noob leeching onto me and driving me nuts.
People who feel comfortable in their perceived popularity forget what it's like to be hated. Before AE, how many times did the callout for sewer runs go out? People will always try to find the path of least resistance. That is human nature and you can't fight that. You can try, but you can also bang your head against the wall and see where that gets you.
Some players would like to make, play, and test AE content on our low level toons...and not for farming. There is the options of making a seperate AE broadcast channel. There other thing is the AE fests will calm down once this isn't so new. There is already a lot of creative AE missions out there and even so well done farms that actually have a fun/challenge factor...as for the rest I can choose not to play them and go back to the story arc I'm designing....or the rest of the game.

Throwing the word "discrimination" around in reference to a video game. *shakes head*
I am sure discriminatin' them farmers, what with killing thousands of Comm Officers every day with my Elec/Shield Brute. o.0
No, I don't have any problem with farmers or farming IN GENERAL. However... I don't want BRAND NEW players on their level 1 characters, stepping into the game, and seeing farms as the only (or most visible) teaming available, and then assuming that that is what the entire game is about. It's not being dumb on their part. It's an MMO, they log in, they wanna team with others, and wham, level 50 noob. Taking the AE out of the noob zones (Atlas, Galaxy, Mercy), would at least delay this. You wanna do actual MA content on your level 1? Thank the farmers who took up residence in the noob zones. I love farming, but it's irresponsible to have this in the noob zones. They aren't going to move on their own, and it isn't going away. It wasn't that bad in PI/GV, since most people went there were already high enough to understand what they were doing, but now it's the polar opposite..
This at a time they are marketing the hell out of this game. We are seeing a population boom (how much of it is reactivation, week, I don't know), and people are going to get the wrong damned impression.
I thought this suggestion was enough of a no brainer that I wouldn't need to [censored] spell it out for you.
In the long run, THIS IS BAD FOR THE GAME. PERIOD.

Rather than take them out of the zone, a better solution would be to make the interior of the AE building a separate zone. That way, broadcast spam would be limited to the interior.
A true noob wouldn't know to enter that specific building and would play content as originally designed. An altaholic could enter and farm to hearts content.

Even if a new player avoids the farms and wants to run regular content there are very few teams available in AP and Mercy at the moment, and those who are LFT are drowned out by LFAEF spam.
I'd prefer to see AE in a separate zone, ala Pocket D. Not only would that get rid of the spam, it would get rid of the lag around the AE buildings.
AE farming is already nerfed on Test, I very much doubt this is necessary.

So they've removed all reward? I didn't read that in the patch notes...
The best efforts of five years were unsuccessful in stopping farming. You really think adding some ranged attacks and reducing the reward of a few mobs is going to stop the farming? They'll just move on to the next thing.

Nah, any villain can do it. i just consider row versus wade. A bit slow and tedious, but it's easy at level 1 to reach the ferry, albeit soggy. Or i could spend 15-20 minutes killing stuff around the fort to get a couple levels and then just run through most of the island.
Dr. Todt's theme.
i make stuff...
If you want an AE building free of spam from the lowbie crowd, put it in Firebase Zulu.

I was thinking hte building would fit in better in nerva, since its partially controlled by longbow, lorewise. So it would be easier to setup a business there without having to worry about bribes, etc. St. Martial makes sense because its an entertainment hub.
