Mystic Fortune hidden suprise!

Dunno what anyone's noticed this yet, but the little glowing purple and red card that shows up over a person to show a buff is present is actually one of the City Of Heroes main characters. I noticed it at first when someone gave me The Hermit, and the card was distinctly The Dark Watcher.

I used it on someone and took some caps. This is The Lovers. You know who these kids are.

Sun Moon Tower and Wheel of Fortune aren't anyone. They are symbols.

I think I saw Synapse in The Fool that got cast on me earlier today.

At first I always thought it was just a generic "tarot card" type image.

The Moon

Seems it is a symbol, but not a generic one. That's the Midnight Squad emblem.

One of them turns out to be War Witch, I hope.

Thought it might be worth it to screenshot the cards that show up when casting. You can see all of them in there...in the upper left is The Dark Watcher, and in the upper right is one I just cast on someone:

The Tower, which looks like Lord Recluse's Headquarters in Grandville.

So what do all of the little buffs DO?

They're all from the CoH comics and various concept artwork.

The Wheel of Fortune appears to be one of those large mystical circles you get in the Orbenga maps (on both the walls and the floors) but I'd need a screenshot to really identify it properly.

It could also be a more stylised version of the CoT Logo

At first I thought the sun was the Imperious Shield logo (the one with the 2 squid kheldians back to back) but upon closer inspection it wasn't.

That surprised you? Really?

Personally, I would have been surprised if it did affect pets, especially considering how powerful some of them are.

That, and a pet can't click "accept" or "decline" in a dialog box.

Argh, I wonder if there are different democode FX for these... grrrrrrrr. Can you only have 1 fortune cast on you at a time? Or can multiple people tag you with fortunes?

Multiple people can try (animation on caster end works)
but I've not seen the reciver part less they didn't have one
active at the time. Powerwise one at a time 20 min long,
and they don't stack, first one you click yes to counts.

I've noticed that for Khelds, switching forms activates the Fortune sound effect, just like the Hasten sound is heard every time I switch forms.

Ugh, going 20 minutes hearing a smooch every time I switch is a bit annoying...

Which pet? Don't believe this would overpower MM or Troll/Dom pets. Just make it not affect temps like heavies and shivans.

Which pet? Don't believe this would overpower MM or Troll/Dom pets. Just make it not affect temps like heavies and shivans.

[/ QUOTE ]The only really impressive effect the Fortunes have for pets would have been +rech, but that doesn't work on pets any more. Some pets could make use of +mez, a few could make use of +buff; they could all make use of +res, +def, or +dam, but the values aren't so high as to be overpowering. +spd doesn't do much for them except to let them catch up to you when you speed away from them.

The Sun looks like the CoH skyline symbol with sunbeams radiating outwards, or the Cryptic logo
