It's not, in fact, feasible to plan for some indeterminate amount of server load. You can only plan based on the load you actually see. If this is the first time their servers have been hammered this hard (and it's certainly the first time I've heard of it happening), how were they supposed to plan for it? Just because it's the Magic Pack doesn't mean it included a crystal ball for the IT people.
One drawback of the internet is how it has trained so many people to think that one day is a long time.

Good to know. i also 'double purchased' and just received an email answering my petition informing me that i could not gift the extra code.
We are identifying double taps and those folks will be refunded. There is no way to gift a code to another player.

Oh, is there a Shoulder Fur option somewhere that I missed? I tried looking through all the shoulder options and couldn't find it. I see it with the coat and shirt tops under "magic robe."

That's straight up BS and you know it. They know how big their subscriber base is. The number of purchasers at any one time can't exceed that. This isn't WoW. There aren't millions of people who can clog the store for hours and hours. It's just sloppyness.

The thing about this that is driving me to screaming madness is every time this thing times out on the last page (9 in a row now, not counting the number of times it just plain failed to get that far) I have to go back and check my account, waiting for the overworked server to eventually load my details to check and see if my order didn't get go through in spite of the error saying it did not so that I dont get double billed.. Then after all that run around I can go back to pissing away my day off trying to make a purchase from these people.

So, your contention is that they should have the hardware in place to handle the total amount of the playerbase of all their games simultaneously?
Which means they should invest large amounts of money in purchasing and maintaining equipment that will sit around being idle all but a tiny percentage of the time?
I'm pretty sure you aren't going to find too many companies that agree that's a base standard for professionalism. Or feasible. Though I can imagine the conversation.

"Well, you know how we have it set up now... we usually only see a couple hundred people on the site at a time, but we've got enough power to handle several thousand."

I was charged twice but didnt get any code at all. Who should i speak to about that?
And why have a captcha on a payment form?..

Especially such a bad one. The Ws and Es, and 1s and 7s look far too much alike.
You're real clever. Right up until you stop to consider that they invited hundreds of thousands of people to use the sight at once with a series of advertisements and announcements. Nobody just happened to drop by genius. People came to buy a product that was advertised to them, which had an anticpatable maximum demand.

Well I finally got the damn thing. An entirely awful shopping experience. Best of luck to the rest of you still trying.
And I swear to God if they billed me more than once for this thing there will be Hell to pay.

Wow, they really need to upgrade the servers to handle people wanting to give there money to em. Now that I have had enough time to think about it, I think I won't give em any.
Wow. I was finally able to purchase the magic booster. But I got charged twice. Again. However, Zach at support noticed this as he was handling the issue I had earlier in the day and automagically refunded the second purchase. NC Billing support (or at the very least, Zach) is awesome!

You can call support between 12pm - 5pm CST or use the online form. I called and Zach was most helpful. I barely had any wait time, too.

While purchasing this pack and you click on the Confirm purchase button....and it takes so long that your browser window times out...do not hit refresh or you will have bought to packs like me
